    I figure this might be a good time to announce the site will be getting some much needed updates over the next few weeks. Reason I say this now is because the site may or may not be down from time to time. So if things look funny or aren't working properly, just bear with us. There will be a bunch of things to move around and update with the database & server. Things to come DDR will be 100% mobile friendly. All pages of the site will be accessible and easier to navigate from your phone or tablet. All the features of the desktop site should work just as easy from a mobile device. All new look & styling Product and shop review section Plus I have a bunch more ideas and things to implement once the new site is up. So stay tuned and be patient with us over the next couple weeks.

    Dune season officially kicks off with the first holiday weekend of the 2016/2017 season, Halloween Weekend! With Halloween landing on Monday Oct 31st, October 29-31 will be the official weekend when duners flock to Dumont with their sand toys. Holiday passes will be required so make sure you pick up a holiday season pass ahead of time from a participating vendor or grab a $40 weekly pass from the onsite machine. Trick or Treating! Halloween lands on a Monday this year, but trick-or-treating has always been a Saturday night tradition so we would recommend planning for that. Make sure you bring some candy for the kids. It is always one of the most festive holiday weekends as duners decorate their camps and get into costume. At sundown on Halloween, duners transform flatbed trailers and pickups into trick-or-treat mobiles and go camp to camp. With Halloween being the first big weekend and everyone full of excitement to get out and dune, it's easy to forget a few simple things which could help you avoid a helicopter ride to the hospital or even worse, the white coroner van.     Pretty exciting news today from GoPro. They introduced the GoPro 5 which is waterproof to 33 ft without a housing. It also has stabilization. http://shop.gopro.com/cameras/hero5-black/CHDHX-501-master.html PLUS their new Karma Drone and stabilization gimble! Looks like it features the same specs as the DJI Phantom. The drone is $799 and can be used with a GoPro 4 or 5. The complete kit for $119 comes with a GoPro 5.     Got my season pass in the mail the other day! Looks like 5 people beat me to the #1 pass or they were given out to the sub group members. The BLM used one of my photos this year too.     Let's get some good Halloween theme pics going for October. Post one pic. The winner's dune pic will be posted on the homepage after the contest is over. The member's screen name will be posted up with it as well as your caption or description included with the pic. Dune Pic of the Month- Rules 1. The picture must be YOURS. Do not go surfing the internet looking for one to submit. You cannot post any photos you do not own. 2. The picture must not have any watermarks or logos on it. 3. The picture must be at least 600 x 600 pixels. It will be displayed on the home page if it wins the most votes, therefore we would like it to be a decent size picture. 4. The picture must abide by the terms and conditions (rules) of this board. 5. Post only ONE picture per contest. 6. By posting a photo, you allow DDR to use it on our webpages & post it on our social media.

    This will be my first trip of the season. A bunch of people have been asking me about trick or treating since Halloween is on Monday. Judging from every other year and the usual Dumont tradition, I'd have to say it will still be on Saturday night. That's what everyone has always done. BTW, you guys have to see what the "Flintstones Crew" from last year has up their sleeve for this year. I can't give anything away yet, but it's going to be awesome.

    Last I heard AT&T is no good out there. I've had good 3G signal and even 4G with Verizon but signal depends on area and the amount of people who are out there.
