Friend of mine just recently purchased a sxs and wanted to get some sand time in before Halloween weekend. Got out there before the sun came up and got started around 0600. As long as I have been duning I still find myself surprised with this place. We did the dune in June and had a great time and the sand was still similar to the prior season. Well yesterday it was a whole different game as the summer weather brings. Huge razors, drop offs and witches eyes looking to swallow any machine up. So if you head out be safe. We had a good time and my buddy enjoyed his first sand adventure. We did have to save some tourists who barried their rental maxima.

Stay with someone who has a toy hauler so she tells you to go buy one before the next trip! - definitely bring easy up - small generator if you have one. - if your bringing a trailer set the tent up on it.

I would arrive more like 5am if possible. Still warm. We did Armagosa last Sunday, arrived at 5am and 62 degress and left at 10 and it was low 90's. Dumont will be warmer for sure so like I mentioned before, I would definitely try and arrive as the sun comes up if you decide on dumont.

Well when I went to Armagosa and started my ride at 530 am it was suprisingly 69 degress.

I think I'm ready to do an evening into night ride. Get there with an hour of sunlight to scope the dunes out then get some night riding in.

Get the 2.5's. I made the switch on the front of my car and it was a huge difference.

Pete, great photo's and awesome job on the video. You had your work cut out for you leading a ride during the summer and killed it! Had a great time and was impressed with the rzr since this was our first dune trip with it. I think I have been trying to catch up with sleep Sunday.

It looks like my buddy James and I are gonna make it. The rail is already being torn down for off season, so I will be in a an xp1k and he will be in his 4 seater Maverick.

Went out this past weekend. You guys did a great job cleaning up. So my group of fellow duners thank you. We were unable to attend the event, however did what we could on our own trip. Maybe next year it could be a two day event?

Few photos from the weekend. Had a great trip! Brought the in-laws for their first trip to the dunes. Arrived late friday night and stayed till monday, where we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Got a lot of riding in, the wife took her mom and the girls out on an evening buggy run and managed to not scare the crap out of her mom.

Congrats on the new ride. Definitely put that number in your phone if you put 550 to that 2d unless your convincing hp friends are paying the trans bill. Then just twin turbo it and have them put a credit card or bank account on file at Weddle lol. Enjoy it , be safe out there!
