I work full time at a bicycle shop here in S.B. If your getting into "all mountain", then look at the Shimano XT Shadow components, they tuck in real nice. The SRAM stuff works great but has a tendency to hang low and snag on rocks and stumps. There are a few "X-O Alley's" here in S.B. where the trails are just SRAM graveyards. Also, If thats the bike your looking at, get rid of those wheels ASAP, I can just see all kinds of problems trying to true those b*tches. Good luck, Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be glad to help you out.

So you posted it with only 1 hour and 3 mins for me to celebrate it!!! WTF man. I guess I already celebrated all day since it was my day off, but whatever.

I moved to Santa Barbara area last november for what I thought was going to be a crane operating job. Instead I was trying my hardest to learn how to weld and doing an OK job at it, showed up everyday to work, never left early, even stayed late to practice my welding. Never once operated the crane. I was laid off in March. Luckily I had picked up a 2nd job at a local bike shop (had 5 years experience) and business has really picked up, made two $1200 sales the past 2 days plus lots of repairs. I'm very happy the owner gave me a chance and picked me up full time and hopefully a small raise to make my rent. Looks like I will be able to keep living in this beautiful area. It's been 75, sunny, clear and I can hear the waves crashing from my apartment. I cant leave now.

A baby gray whale just washed ashore two weeks ago on Goleta beach. Then a small waterspout/tornado hit the same spot where is washed up yesterday. I think somebody wanted it back.

No where is it? I do however enjoy the beachside grill down at the Goleta Pier, descent food and drink your beer with the waves crashing less than 100' away.

So I just went to the so called "You Tube" subforum here in general chat. It seems to me that our very own Richard Cheese has completely taken over that subforum. Do you still have a job there Cheese, have you completely given up on teaching the already born meth addicted children of Bakersfield. :clown:

That is frustrating as hell, I know, I've been in that situation myself. I have also been on the company side of the situation many more times. I worked at a bicycle shop for 5 years out of H.S., was 3rd in command of the place, I had alot of pull there. I have had customers bring in things without reciepts many times, and if they were cool about it and the product was in the packaging, I would return it no problem because I do know how far a little bit of customer service goes, especially when your business runs on return customers and word of mouth. I have also had more than one occasion where someone would pull an innertube out of the dumpster, that I threw away myself because it had a hole. The tweeker would go dumpster diving in our trash, pull a tube, then bring it in through the front door and try to return it saying that we sold them a bad tube. I would then promptly tell them to get the out of the store. What I'm trying to say is, most retail stores today would rather deal with losing an angry legitmate customer than losing money by having a relaxed return policy. It sucks for those who are legitimate and honest, and it's becoming harder to find the stores who can tell the difference between the 2 types of people they deal with.

My front suspension has been sounding like the box spring under my bed for the past couple of months now, so I need to refresh it. I am looking to buy: Polyurethane bushing kit Shocks Upper and lower ball joints I will probably just have a local shop here do the work if they are reasonable. Any body have any good experience from online stores? Better off buying from Napa or other auto parts stores? Let me hear what you got. Thanks
