CARB lists fine of 600,000 dollars to Sand Car Association
ltr450rider replied to Richard Cheese's topic in General Chat
I like how they go after the less than 1 percent of vehicles operated in all of California. Especially the less than 1 percent that are operated in very low populated area's in the open desert's. Has anyone been to Long Beach or San Pedro and seen all of the "South of the Border" Owner/Operator deisel trucks spewing out black soot at the ports. But yet, it's only the American owned trucks that require the particulate traps. I would like to ask CARB where they stand on that issue. -
That sucks. I know what it's like to roll over. I did at glamis in my buddies turbo subie 4 seater off a dropoff into a 100' bowl. None of us got hurt luckily. Ever since then and more and more lately, I think I will be wearing a helmet and maybe even the chest protector if I ever got a side x side.

We could have a month strait of night and day drags at banshee hill, with no trash left behind. :dumbass:
-
:angry2: :fight: to everyone who keeps talking about the F**CKING trash issue on THIS thread. Wanna talk about the trash issue, here ya go, b*tch away! http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...?showtopic=2115 Sorry for being an A-Hole but it would be nice to have a positive thread about all the good things that happened. Like people having a great time and knowing how great it is to still have a place to dune at anytime they want.

One of our guys is getting fired tommorow for not showing up today. Especially when he was told last week that anyone who did not come in this week would get the boot on account of one of our main guys being on vacation this week. So needless to say, we will be looking for someone new. Here's the info in another thread. http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...?showtopic=8725

People will still complain about all the space age bags that get left behind at the dunes still, including myself. I had to :stir: -

ltr450rider replied to ynot's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
Congrats to all of you. Thanks for working hard on keeping our dunes open and enjoyable for the rest of us. -
I guess no one read above where it said to complain in another thread. Back to the subject. Did anyone else have a better time than me, because I had a freakin blast.

I have a few buddies that are real conspiracy theorists (They basically smoke way too much ), They are always talking about how things are going to go down in the next few years and this is the beggining of the end. Thier current goal is to move to canada, live off the land, and grow lots and lots of pot. After hearing thier fears about the future, I've come to realize that there is no point in scaring the crap outta yourself and living a life of fear. Whatever happens is going to happen whether I know about it or not. I say, just let it happen and move on from there. This country will one day fall, just like all the other empires before. All I care to do is sit back, drink a beer, and hopefully I can still go to the river and ride the dunes. -
What the eff do you do that you have to work (and are still working) that much. Damn bro, I need some of those hours. Billboard industry is somewhat steady I guess. 1st and last of the month is usually pretty good and the middle slows down where I work about 30 hours a week by working at the yard untill they kick me out. We got busy this week and I will work at least 35 hours.

I am definitley not worried about the width of the LTR, 50" across the back is plenty. The camber is something to play with for sure. I would like to use round tubing simply for asthetic appeal. Thanks for all the idea's, Now to get ahold of the dude to see if they are running this wednesday.

The problem with any suspension on a quad doing speedway is to get the stiffness you need, you would have to crank the springs all the way and that would make the bike sit higher. You still have to deal with the body roll in the turns. The track at Industry stays in pretty decent shape through the night, there really is no need for suspension, the sidecars don't have any. I would like to use some round tubes, I would just need to use some type of jig to drill the holes. I don't know weather to use 4130 cro-mo or aluminum. The hard part would be getting the mounts machined, I might have to talk to Randog about that.
-
Dirt track, like the pics that are posted in RUn2it's first post, below mine. I think the cro-mo tubes with hight adjustment is the way to go, now just to find someone to help fab them up.

What's wrong with that? It's his b-day isn't it? He should be allowed to wake up how and where he pleases. Happy B-day Nick, I forgot that your only a few days behind me.

The 2 piece strut sounds like the way to go. Adjustable highths would work real well. I was thinking about the staggered tire size like the sprint cars do, but I see your point about the skidding. I would have to go to the lake bed and try it out maybe, just to try it and see. The turning left thing is what it's all about though.
