Lost Billet gas cap, and 3 gallons of fuel on Easter sunday
ltr450rider replied to dune_rat's topic in Lost & Found or Stolen
Hey Andy, I'll look for it this weekend in Glamis. Just take some seran wrap and a rubberband, BAM, instant gas cap. :clown: -
Haha, you've been peep'd on.

I finally talked to the manager of the Pismo Beach Hotel today, her name is Tamara for anyones reference. She actually called me, I guess calling everyday and leaving messages with everyone really does work, or maybe not as the end result shows. I plead my case to her about raising my rate from $130 a night to $190 a night after I recived my confirmation number, which she happily recited back to me. She immediatly said there was nothing she could do about the new price, I expected this and came prepared to the argument. I kept a cool and collected calm during this entire conversation. Me-"Tamara, I just don't agree with what your business is doing here, YOUR employees confirmed $129 a night on January 5th and gave me the number, that is a CONFIRMED price, meaning, it does not change." Tamara-"I understand, but $129 a night was last year's rate, we decided to raise the rate in late January this year. would you like to cancel the room?" She sounds very happy to cancel my resy. Me-"No, I would like to keep my room as every other room in Pismo is booked up. Now can you please help me with this situation and keep me as a customer that the Kon Tiki lost. How can you CONFIRM a rate, then raise it 3 weeks later and tell me to accept it or get lost? Does that sound right to you? I understand that you want to raise your rates, but you raised them AFTER I CONFIRMED this price 3 weeks before you decided to do so." Tamara-"Well unfornutally for you, this is a very busy weekend and we have a long list of people that are willing to take the room. Besides, YOU should have noticed something was up when our rate was cheaper than everyone else." Now I'm thinkin in my head, how dare you, you are basically calling me an idiot for looking around for a deal on a room, finding one, then getting angry when you bait and switch me on the price. I want to punch this lady now, but my cooler head prevailed and I say... Me-"So it's my fault for finding a deal on a room..." I get cutoff Tamara-"The rate is now $190, would you like to cancel the room?" Me-"No Tamara, I will keep my room for now, how long do I have to cancel my reservation?" Tamara-"48 hours before your check-in time." There was much more to the conversation, just back and forth .So now I will keep my reservation right up untill the hour that I have to cancel. And I have 5 months to spread bad reviews on every single site that I can find that has this hotel listed. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL PEOPLE, DON'T REWARD THIER BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. Please let me know of any sites that you may know of where I can leave a review for this place. I have lot's of time on my hands. :hungry:

First time I've seen it. I think I will save this and send it to my employees the night before a presidential election. I would have to own my own business first though.

Quick Question, why the front paddles if you don't have the front wheel drive portion of the 4 wheel drive?

I'm diggin' your impromptu workstand, but what do you do when you need a cold one? J/K man, I would love to have the extra bucks to find a blown up bike to turn it into a cool little hillclimber and racer. I worked at bicycle shop for 5 years, I can tell you some stories of people and thier complete lack of mechanical abilities.

I knew i should have gone to dumont this weekend

He might be out the next day, but they will charge him with Identity theft and possibly grand larceny. I think if you steal anything over $400 here in Cali, they keep you longer than 5 hours. I will share the story of how I know that some day, it's pretty entertaining. -

F**K that little thief. I'm down for a little tweaker asswhoopin'. You have to get some people together, watch him for a couple of weeks and get him when he can't use his "weapon's". Do it like Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction and get all Mideval on his a$$. -
I really do not feel bad for stupid people. Maybe that paintball hit the part of the brain and controls common sense and knocked it back into alignment, at the sacrifice of vision in one eye.

I completely understand how busy it gets, that's why we have to call up 6 months in advance to the day to reserve rooms for this weekend. I'm not gonna go and start sending letter bombs or anything, I really just want others to know about how this hotel feels about thier customers. I dont think this business practice should go without consequences. I probably will not make a dent in the flow of people to this particular hotel, but maybe word will get out and some will choose to not patronize this place. Hey Cheese, do you still use Fed Ex?

Yeah, we have stayed there before for a one night turnaround trip. I'm not too worried about where I can stay, I have an Aunt and Uncle and my grandparents both live in Santa Maria that love it when we come up and stay with them, so I always have somewhere to go. It just makes me angry that businesses can get away with this crap and we the consumer get :porn: in the and there is nothing we can do about it. They will probably sell the room to someone who is happy to pay what they want. I'm going to call the manager today and if I dont get at most $160 a night, I'm going to wait till the very last minute to cancel the room, I have up till 48 hours before check in to do so. I wish there was a way to contact all the people that this is happening to so we can band together and all cancel our reservations at the same time to teach this hotel a lesson. I hate to sink down to someone else's level but if I don't, it's going to continue to happen.

I just had a thought today. I will tell them that I work for Van Wagner, one of the largest advertising firms in LA, not to mention the country. I can put up some billboards explaining the situation. Maybe that will change the situation.

I have gone to Pismo for 4th of July with bigtruckdrmr and her family for the past 3 years. Always stayed at the Kon Tiki. Very nice hotel and her family is well known to the owners and they get some nice discounts. This year I call the first week of January to make a res'y at the Kon Tiki and they need a 4 night minimum at $200 a night this year. They always fill up for the 4th weekend. Eff That So I look around and find a killer deal at the Pismo Beach Hotel right in downtown on the beach. $129 a night for 2 nights. I get a confirmation # and everything. This weekend, I get a voicemail saying that I need to call Pismo Beach Hotel because they have raised the price to $190 a night. :?: I just got a off the phone with a poor young fellow who had to deal with my wrath. It's not his fault, the kid just works there. He tells me that the hotel manager has raised the price for the new year and I still need to confirm the new price, even though I have a confirmation # with the $129 price. He even feels bad and tells me that it's stupid what they are doing. So tomorow I will call the manager and yell, I mean, talk to her for a while and see what comes out of it. I will either come out staying there for the 3rd and 4th of July at $129 a night, OR, I am going to drive up there and firebomb the place, j/k. There has to be some kind of law against this, I'm thinking false advertising of some kind. Richard Cheese, what do you think? Your a pro at this stuff. :clown:

That's not good. Hope everything works out to get him back to the states and have a full recovery. This sounds alot like Stephan Murray. My sisters good friend was his wife. She couldnt handle the stress of the situation and they are not together anymore, very sad.

Yeah, Well, Eff You! Your not included in my plan. J/K

I am so tired of hearing all this about bailouts and stimulus that I figured I would pitch an idea of my own, since the last stimulus check that we recieved really "stimulized" the economy. Instead of just blatently giving every single taxpayer cash money which WE would almost certainly spend on "foriegn made goods", and WE did back in may and june. I think the good ole' Government should use that money as a rebate on every American made product or service that WE buy. Add it up with our taxes next year. Buy an American car, get a cash rebate. Buy an American made piece of furniture, get a cash rebate. Use an American cell phone service, you get the idea. What I'm saying is that with the money that we are given, we use it to bury the economy even further by sending that money oversea's to foriegn economy's. This idea keeps money rolling around in the US economy and would create jobs and new businesses by creating a demand for American goods. Tell me what you think about that.

I put a 30x30 Oscars ad on the side of Andy Dicks apartment today. He left his Honda "truck" in our way but the bastid wouldn't answer his door to move it so we had to use the construction site next to his building.

That looks like fun with a little practice. GMR (Glendora Mountain Road) here in so cal would be perfect for that. 8 miles of twisting and turning downhill. I used to ride my road bike up and down that road 2 times a week.

I took a local day trip to Stoddard Wells a couple of weeks ago and my first stop was at Wild Wash Road. I had some buddies that rode there and I thought it was part of the OHV area. I went for a little warm up ride with bigtruckdrmr and when I got back to the truck I had a ticket on the windshield and the sheriffs were checking out the other camps (there were about 5 other trucks). Luckily it was just a warning with a map that showed legal places to ride in S.B. county. The sheriff came over and told me that they are really just there to inform people that it is no longer a legal place to ride due to it being private property. He was really cool about it and also said that people have been riding there for years and simply don't know the boundaries since they are not marked. There are cases of mistakes like mine, but, if you have been told it is illegal to ride there because it is private property and you still come back, then you should be fined.
