Awesome, hope it works out for you. Make sure the trans in the car is a "2D" and not an "E-box". They use the same case that has "MD4S" stamped on it, so just be aware. Shoot me an e-mail or call the shop if you need clarification. sean@weddleindustries.com 805-562-8600 It's good to hear you're not going to get out of the sand just yet. Dune riding is some of the best riding I have ever had. Something to remember, especially about big weekends is that you really only hear about the "Bad", you will never hear about the 10's of thousands of other people that had a fun, safe experience. Accidents do happen, but many can be avoided by someone who has their head on a swivel and uses common sense. I don't like going to any "destination" on holiday weekends anymore. There are just too many people around who lack the common sense or just plain disregard it. I have much more fun going on the less crowded weekends and not having to worry about other people's lack of common sense. Don't forget to post up your new ride!

What's everyone got planned for 4th of July?
ltr450rider replied to dunefreak's topic in General Chat
No real plans, maybe head back to Hell (LA) and visit the family, probably listen to country music (because I love that sh*t ), and have a few too many drinks (because were all going to die anyways ) -
Very sad news. I've met him a few times at Dumont, seemed like a great guy.

I'll be on my own saturday and monday, So I'll probably sit out on my balcony and yell at people to get off the lawn that doesn't exist. Should be a good time for me!

We didn't even make it to SS 300, possibly going to be there for Vegas To Reno in August, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Pull the trans and send it in for a rebuild!

2010 Chevy Aluminum Block 5.3l Pullout Low Mileage

Been looking for something to do to the S-10, this should pretty much drop right in. Make my 3/4 mile commute to work just a little quicker, also make my rear tires wear out a little faster. -

Were too busy to head out to the Silver State 300 this year, so no, I will not be out there. -
1. Need to re-subscribe for home use, normally get it here at the shop, but it's not always here for some reason 2. I personally think the content is good the way it is. I'm sure it gets a little boring for the guys doing the articles, but remember, it is "Sand Sports" and I think it covers the sport/activity quite well. I think doing a featured rail, SxS, and quad/moto every issue is the way to go as it covers all of the major bases. 3. If I don't like it, I skip it! For the most part, I read everything. 4. Readers rides is really cool. I too like "tasteful" models, I don't care to see hoochie azz strippers that never even had "their prime years" to begin with!

This probably belongs in the "Oceano Dunes" sub-forum, but it works here too! So last years Huckfest, although being completely un-organized and having about 20,000 more people show up than planned for, was a lot of fun to go and watch. We had more fun watching all of the crazy-ness happen in the rows than actually watching the "hucking", when the "hucking" did actually happen! A lot like going to the hill at night. There was definitely some things that needed to happen to make it a better event to watch and participate in. Organization, schedule of events, cooperation between LEO's and promoters to name a few. I think with all of the complaints that people had about the event itself, they still had a good time and were willing to return this year. Then this bomb gets dropped (From their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Huckfest/537079266377275 : Rumors are correct!! The 2014 Huckfest dates will be Hosted on Oct 17-18 2014 We will be selling our own tickets for the show. 35 dollars for day use and 100 for Camping per night! Before any nay sayers, this event has grown extremely fast and to keep this event a safe well organized event and make a great show for families and spectators its going to cost a little bit more. That being said you ...will get what you pay for, the last couple of years have been 100% out of pocket from the organizers with some help with sponsors, but now this event is requiring additional permits with the size of the crowds it gathers. This years Huckfest will have more of everything such as monster trucks, FMX demos, trophy truck, teams from all over the country and world. We encourage car pooling for spectators (we are limited to a certain amount of vehicles "NOT PEOPLE"). So load up your pals if the 35 bucks is too much and if the 100 dollars per night is too much every day use and night pass will enter you in a contest to win 10k in prizes and product from our sponsors. With us raising the prices will make Huckfest a better show all the way around with the organization and the spectator quality! you will not be bummed! Tickets go on sale on wednesday this week! So they basically bought the entire Beach, and are selling their tickets to get in! I understand why they did it, but that is still not the right way to do it. It sounds like they found the first weekend that had zero reservations and set the event around that weekend. Problems: $100 a night to camp on the beach overnight! $200 for the weekend! During actual dune season when most people are headed to Glamis or Dumont for Halloween weekend. I don't expect too many people paying that kind of price for Pismo. Maybe in August or September, I think Labor Day weekend would have been a better weekend. Event is 2 weeks before the Baja 1000. None of the big name TT guys are going to "Huck" their race truck 2 weeks before the biggest race of the year. Way too much risk involved. Big names bring the crowds! No big names, less tickets sold! I know last year got way out of hand with so many people showing up. It was the first time in 20 something years that they had to close the beach, let alone at 10 AM! I'm sure the promoters (who are 22 year old twins brothers) had a hard time dealing with the State Park Leo's to put this on, since the Leo's didn't seem too happy with last years chaos. I just think they went the wrong way with charging as much as they are for an event with no big names to draw the crowds. Since we already had plans for Halloween weekend, I don't think we'll be going. We were planning on staying at a hotel in Pismo for at least one night, maybe we'll head up for the day. I'm going to wait and see what other "acts" are scheduled to show since they are talking about FMX making a showing.

It's getting warm. How many trips do you have left?

Good job BLM. And Everyone who voiced their opinions! Sounds like they are taking a hint!

Also posted somewhere else. Where are we headed?

That's very frustrating Pat, I understand and agree with you. But there is a bright side. You can still go to, use, and enjoy Dumont. Meaning, it has not been shut down to the public (yet hopefully it stays that way). Something I learned at my last job is there are some people that have ZERO interest is what others think, feel, or bring to the table that could help in any way! This seems to be the case with the current management in charge. It seems that there have not been many complaints about LEO contact this past holiday weekend, maybe there has been some effect on enforcement of laws due to the amount of public complaint. It sure would be nice to hear that from someone in the know. I've learned that if there is no ear willing to listen, then there is no reason to waste words that have no effect. -

Great weekend. Going through all the GoPro footage, but it will be a few days before I can put anything together at my pace. It was nice to be back to some real dunes, the LTR got to stretch it's legs for the first time in a long time. Good riding with everyone! And I want to thank Chad and family for letting us crash his pad for Supercross, that was awesome of you guys, thanks again.
