"Dune Pix" out of Temecula Calif. They take action shots and sell them on Vendor row. Great pictures right on the spot!!! A little pricey but well worth it!!!

No Photos except some GoPro I am working on to be able to post. Pulled in Thursday night with Rocket and another friend from Logandale Nv. Shortly after it was time for the camp fire and a few cocktails. Friday morning Rocket and I did a fantastic ride on the West side of the Dunes. Took about an hour from start to finish. Smooth sand and good lines for my rail. Friday evening Terry pulled into camp and two others that we thought were going to come didn't. So camp was spread out some but we did a fire and some drinks and later the wind came up only to have a bunch from Cali show up and park less than 20 feet from Terrys rig, Unbelievable as the flats were wide open. The camp was full of kids and inconsiderate adults! Terry finally pulled his rigs closer to the fire pit and we survived. Those kids were running circles around their camp with in just a few feet of Terrys rig. Later in the day on Saturday, Terry lead us on a ride on the eastern section of the dunes. Great run and lines. Ended up at the North pole. My little no travel rail following a bunch of long travel cars was an adventure to say the least. I got lost once or twice and bottomed out on a razorback once too. Had a little problem with the sharper razorbacks. Got film of that run too. Kinda funny and only a couple of Qh Sh*ts from me on the ride in the audio. Short mention of our campfire entertainment on Sat night, We had our resident drunk there, WOW!! She tried to give Terry a hard time but that didn't work at all!!!!! Rockets wife fixed us a nice Easter dinner on Sunday and the rest of the time was relaxing. :drunks: Terry left Sunday AM. Wind came up again in the evening again so camp fire was short. Finally came home on Monday because of the weather forecast. Still a great trip!!!

I've got an 06 rhino I bought new. I made some simple cheap mods to it and have loved it's versatility. I take it on trails and take it to the sand most times along with the rail. When the sand it tight I can go lots of places on trail rides in the dunes. At my age I don't get crazy but go to the limitations for the Rhino. Money being an issue I will keep the Rhino, take care of it and continue to enjoy it!

Trying out the GoPro and it records in MP4 and that is not recognized by Windows movie maker. Any help out there??? I just ordered a USB reader for my old video cam/to computer so I can save and edit old videos. I think it comes ULead software and hopefully the new version will see the MP4. Anywho any suggestions welcomed! Thanks

It was easy......I made a typo when I first posted!!!!!! It's Skyz thing. :blonde: It was 330 with the free chip, free priority shipping and the roll bar mount. Only a saving of about 30 bucs as I see it but the service was excellent!

Was it windy???? I was going up the stairs of Rockets mansion on wheels Saturday evening and a gust caught the door as I was opening it, Tried to hold it when the door took off..... with me attached..... and threw me off the step into my Rhino and on my butt. Bob and his guest were at the table watching this happen. The look on their faces and mine would have made a classic photo. No harm no foul, still don't know how I didn't get hurt at all. And the door didn't suffer any damage. Guess my Angel Wings and the Depends broke my fall. Just another terrific Camp Fire story!!

I'm also sorry to hear that BP. I've had to put down more than my share in my lifetime. I refuse to let my loyal friends suffer. I know when it is time, with the help of our Vet. Never gets easy!! RIP Dune! Pat

If truck is here, I'm here unless we took the car somewhere. Hell I don't know. They have these neat new electronic thingees called a phone. Mine is always on. I may go out on Wed to put up the Razor wire on the finger and Land mines for the camping space. Easter isn't usually l that big of a weekend! E-mailed him Wed, no answer yet. Our new spot is against finger 3 right at at the road. And don't call me "knappy" Lady!!! Would like to Terry but Bob doesn't want to take his rig in so far. We got stuck once and that did it for going that way!!

http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...showtopic=14200 The post and video by 80 Grit on above link sold me!!!!!! I like this view much better than the wide angle ones I took and viewed last time out!! Sounds like he has options to use the wide angle too by changing the settings. Cool deal............ and I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took some video at St Anthony last year with my regular video cam mounted to my rail, and the standard view was just fine when it wasn't bouncing around so much!! Any one want to donate to an old poor man to buy one???????? Just think how good you will feel to help out a senior citizen!

Thanks, That is the info I've been looking for. Made my decision for me to get the standard lens GoPro. Just didn't care for the Wide angle one. thanks again!

What video was that shot with? Wide angle or standard lens? GoPro???Really nice video! Thanx

Money Talks, BS walks!! Go for da money!!

Thanks Randy but the one we used was the new Hi Def Wide angle! Wondering about the old fashioned standard lens!

I hear a lot of talk about the wide angle lens on the GoPro. In fact, I saw and took some footage this last weekend at Dumont. My question is ....Has anyone had the standard lens version and how does the quality of footage compare. The wide angle tends to distort what you see because of the shape of the lens. Does anyone have history with the standard lens? I would consider purchasing one if the objects look closer to the real distance. When we looked at our footage everything looks really far away when you are right on top of them. The wide angle is nice to see what is all around you on a ride but the distance and distortion issue is in my mind! Thanks for any feed back. Pat

There are several areas to ride around and close to Dumont but the catch is that your vehicle has to be licensed. These are pretty well considered roads not trails. If you take off going south on the T and T Railroad bed there are some mines and cabins that are accessible but they are nearly 20 miles of running to get to them. I and a good friend did that trip once and put 70 miles on the Rhino. Before they closed down the trails/roads to the east of Dumont you could go quite a ways to mines, the date farm and nearly to Tecopa. Good luck!

009 manual or Vac. Distributor whats better
sandawg replied to dunecruzer661's topic in Sandrail Talk
I totally agree on the 009 distributor!!!!Run one myself. no problems at all! Fuel pump regulators aren't reliable at those low pressures. I went through 3 of them for my Webers. What kind are your carbs? If not Weber the pressure might not need to be that low! I ended up using an electrick fuell pump then lowered the voltage to get my pump to run slower as not to put too much fuel to the carbs! the Pertronix are good too. Less trouble than the points and condensor. With the 009 run your timing between 28 and 32 degrees advance at above 3000 rpm's. Good luck!!! -
