POSITIVE Highlights from 2007/2008 Dune Season
britincali replied to sand chick's topic in Dumont Happenings
I said I dont get that feeling the "whole" time :shocked2: -
Im not good at taking care of things and I know if I drop $100 on a solar blanket it will end up in a dusty pile in the corner of my yard ripped and sun bleached :shocked2: I got a new hayward heater about 2 years ago through my home warranty company, they installed a big expensive one. It really aint that bad to run, I can run it off and on all month and it bumps the gas bill under $100 a month. The old one I replaced used to cost a fortune!!!!!! Once my pools up to 78-82 it tends to stay there all summer without any input.

Im stuck at work till 4pm but after that its gonna be mowing the grass, drinking beers and if its warm enough maybe a dip in the pool, I had the heater on all day yesterday and it was up from 55 to 72 this morning :shocked2:

The highlight of this season for me were.. 1. Not getting beat by my buddies in the sand drags (thank you Mr nos) 2. Getting A LOT better at riding and finally being able to go for a blast with the psycho kids and not feeling like im gonna die the whole time. 3. Getting a spin in some awsome rails (thanks 50cal and malibu) 4. Meeting some new bit%$in peeps to get mashed with 5. Not eating sh!t hard and messing myself up 6. Having finally stepped up for a season pass -

Where you go in dumont makes a BIG difference, Ive got a 2wd truck and a 20ft travel trailer. Ive been to dumont probably 15 times with the trailer and never got stuck untill the last trip out, my buddies camp was almost at the base of the big dune on the left of the entrance to comp/banshee, it was mega soft and my truck buried itself hardcore. I had to dig the hitch out of the sand so I could get unhooked and towed out. If I dont go in that close im normally fine. My usual thing is to stop by the ranger station and air down to 20 or so PSI and then keep it nailed in the soft stuff, even this doesnt work close to the dunes tho.

My point is this distance competition is going to end in a very very bad splat and its going to be televised probably live, its going to be nothing but massive amounts of ammo for all the greenies and anti fun b*tches out there. Its russian rulette with a dirtbike.

Grand canyon is simply awsome the first time you see it, pictures do it no justice whatsoever.
-
Im having a horrible year money wise so the only fun stuff im gonna be doing is sitting by my pool with a 40 Oh and pismo for a weekend in july
-
These big jumps are awsome to watch and trigger is prolly gonna go further than 320 this year but at some point this is gonna have to stop. There is zero room for any kind of error in that distance and you are no going to walk away from it. Im all about dirtbikes and seeing the crazy sh*t that they can do but someday soon this big jump stuff is gonna turn into a bloodbath infront of millions of viewers.

What gets me is the dumbasses are treating it like a god

You made a statement, and my question to you was "Why would a little less backpressure cause you to loose power?" Most motors like less backpressure (to a point), I was wondering why you thought it would cost you power opening up the exhaust.

I dont have ANY clear fittings on mine, I know im done when the hose stops wiggling I definaly dont want to see the sh*t going down the pipe -
Instead of spending major coin on a bigger stator could you not just run a big capacitor like they use for high powered car amps? Im sure that would take care of the inital load on.
