My husband says he can find a signal at the top of one of the higher dunes, if he holds real still

Found this on another website........... Sounds funny but maybe more true than you might believe. Went out to Dumont last Thursday, 11/15, and returned today, 11/20. Here's some observations; Lynne & I have going there for an extended family Thanksgiving since 1978, maybe 1977. Up until about 5 years ago, the crowds were never a problem, rarely saw an ambulance, or Life-Flight helicoptor all week long, fireworks were never a problem, and we rarely saw a park ranger, and no-one cordoned off acres and acres of camp area w/ yellow caution tape. Then about 5 years ago, the crowds tripled or quadrupled, literally overnight, huge DP MH's and 40+' TH's, top of the line TV's, $100K+ dune buggies, a gigantic corporate tent, that would do PT Barnum proud, including all the toys for employees to enjoy. People camping literally closer to you, than your neighbors house is, rangers on patrol 24/7, Life Flight helicoptor's (ON-SIGHT), w/ a trioge trailer on site as well. This year...... a crowd just like the old days... probably less than 200 rigs total. Vendors row, for the most part vacant, (the stands were there, but no product on display), absolute silence at night, (which is very rare), no ambulances, no Life-Flight helicopters at all, no trioge trailer, and not 1 ranger seen all 6 days!! Think the Mortgage Industry woes have anything to do with it? That was the topic of fireside conversation, more than one night. One camper, mentioned that in last weeks Trader newspaper, for the Inland Empire, there were 22 pages of dune buggies, and the usual average is 5-9 pages. That's 10 vehicles per page. I think the trickle down effect on housing is having an effect on lot's more than just houses. People mortgaged the crap outta their homes, bought lot's of expensive toy's, and signed on the bottom line, for those reverse mortgages, and now it's ALL upside down.

Ok, so I'm asking...

The Muffler Shop on Navy in old downtown Henderson has done 2 of our trucks over the years. Don't remember what they cost, but it wouldn't matter anyway, that was years ago. Nice guys and never had any problems.

Did you do any damage to the back door dragging it halfway around the block?
-
Sorry to hear about your troubles today. Don't let it get you down. But definitely be careful on your way to the groomer

It looks like we, too, will be out there that weekend. Don't shoot if you see a deer in the dunes! :no_no:

Did DDR forget to set their clock back?

Just got back from Primm this morning. Decided to just make a loonnggg weekend out of it. We had a great time. Like Pete said the wind Saturday sucked but Sunday was a beautiful day. My observations: Staying in the parking lot at Primm Valley Casino=leaving with a clean trailer. John(Undertow) at the sports bar at Primm Valley rocks!!! Rob MacCachren is the SH*T!!!! Sitting in the skybox is the only way to watch the races! Thank you Menzies Motorsports!! Racing on Sunday is way more intense than on Saturday! Rob MacCachren is the SH*T! When the racing is over, it doesn't take long for these teams to pack up and move out. Staying Sunday night to beat traffic Getting up Monday morning at 4:30a to come home Oh and did I mention Rob MacCachren is the SH*T? Can't wait for the SCORE season to start!!!!!

It's up about an hour or so north of Elko.

I don't know it by that name, but I know that you make a left by the Wildhorse little store/restaurant. Does that make sense? Did you see the camp?

Yeah she really did a number on the rollbar!!! It's gouged all the way to the metal along the whole top. Must be time for bedliner on it!!! But the most important thing is that she and her passenger didn't get hurt. Luckily they rolled into the mountain and not the other way off the steep hill.

And maybe someone that specializes in minor rv repair. A couple years ago, we took our new trailer out for it's first trip and the water heater wouldn't work. It was a long 3-day weekend. Come to find out, it was a $10 2 minute fix.
