Ok so no one has posted this up, so I thought I would. Lets have our usual meet & greet at the South Pole 2pm on Saturday?? Hope to see lots of new DDR faces!!! And all the old ones of course!! See you all there!! I dont know bout the rest of you, but im pretty freaking excited to get my sand fix after missing opening weekend!!

Come on folks, we need lots more volunteers to help out to make this first Poker Run a success. We will have 5 booths as well as registration. So who else can commit to at least a couple hours to help this great cause??? Its coming up quit, dont wanna wait till the last minute then not have enough volunteers. I know with the economy the way it is its hard for people to make it out to the dunes. Im one of those people. Ill be driving out in the burb just for the poker run. Id be willing to take passengers to help out this great event!!!

Im sooooooooooooooooooooooo glad to hear this surgery went well. I imagine its been the longest month of all your lives. Glad all the prayers have succeeded in a wonderful outcome!!! You said he is going to have to be careful with his hand cause of the flap. For the rest of his life?? Does that mean should he does anything to his hand, it could cause problems again down the road with the blow flow?? So hopefully when he gets home, you guys will be able to make it out to the dunes for halloween!!

Well I basically learned to ride at dumont. Ive also managed to get to Coral pink and Amargosa. Dumont will always be my 2nd home, but I personally would rather ride Coral pink. Id really like to get to glamis, sand mountain. And id also like to try marysvale and some of the trail riding in utah. I got into the sport almost 4 yrs ago and was hooked from the first moment I learned at dumont. I definately think it will be something ill enjoy for the rest of my life. Well as long as I can afford it and able bodied enough to ride!!

Hey everyone. I know we are all getting really excited about the 1st annual Poker Run being presented by Friends of Dumont Dunes & DDR!! We are currently looking for volunteers to man the poker stations as well as for the registration booth. We will be manning the stations (5) with 2 man or woman teams. So we are looking for 10 volunteers for those that will be spread about dumont. We are also looking for volunteers to man the registration booth from 9am-2pm (4 to 6 people). As well as about 4 people from 2pm-3pm to help with other duties at the registration booth. This is for a great cause OUR DUNES that we all love so much. We are looking for people who will be motivated to educate the public on the issues currently being faced regarding dumont. (Out of bounds areas, Fringe toed Lizard) If you are interested in volunteering your time, please PM me with times available so I can coordinate where to put everyone. Please only PM if you are able to commit to the cause. We appreciate your help.

Well since im not going to make it to glamis the week before halloween, Ill be hitting up Dumont for halloween. LOOKING FORWARD TO A SAND FIX. This and thanksgiving will be my only trips this season, gotta make my ride time count!! :angry2:

I got a text today from Shery. She said he will need another surgery tomorrow, a skin graft I believe she said. He isnt out of the woods yet. Everyone keep praying for him. Gerald, hope it was ok for me to put this on here. :angry2:

I read a story online yesterday about an old woman in ohio whose house was in foreclosure. Her and her husband who had passed some time earlier had lived there since 1970. Well she was so upset about being evicted she shot herself. Lived. Now the mortgage company is not going to foreclose, and THEY ARE GOING TO FORGIVE HER MORTGAGE??? WTF?????? Now why in the world would they publish a story like this. DONT YOU THINK EVERY MORON who is in financial trouble would try this after hearing about this story?? COME ON PEOPLE!!! It is definately tough times, I lost my condo and working a job paying 1/2 what I used it. But come on, suicide is not the answer. Killing your family??? You cant give up. That which doesnt kill ya (no pun intended) does make you stronger. Im living proof of that. You get up each day and do what you can to get thru it. One day at a time is the only way to deal with things that get as bad as they have. Just my 02 cents!

Sounds like good times, bummed I missed it! Doesnt look like it was a very busy weekend? Looked alot less people than a normal opening weekend. I think this will be a sign of the times this season for sure. Economy in the pisser! Thanks for sharing the great pics everyone!

damn, that sucks. Did she go to the hospital and get checked out?? Sorry to hear your opening weekend wasnt so good. Glad she is ok though!
