You are welcome...but it is really Joe who deserves the thanks for being there and answering the call. I cried when they told me he didn't make it. <--- a testament to his humanity

With all of these unwritten rules...what keeps a new guy straight?

Can somebody provide me with the map which shows the direction I should be riding on these hills? :eatdrink021:

Glad to see he is alright. My last time out camping near the finger dunes my dog almost stepped on a broken neck from a sobe bottle.

What do you mean by support staff? FYI - Most of us riders take care of our own equipment. -
This was sent to me via PM by duneitup3....evidently he didn't realize that he hit the "report" button and not "reply". I attempted to reply back to him to let him know what happened...being so new his account doesn't accept PM's. I felt it was important to post since I believe that was his intent and it is very heart felt.

I have no qualms with the Rangers/Cops/Sheriffs riding the dunes and having fun while off duty. However, any Gov't job that I have had, and wore a uniform had rules about wearing that uniform while off duty. The reason for that is obvious to me and should be glaringly obvious to others, but might not be. They are setting an example for the entire law enforcement group and any bad or misconceived perceptions reflect on the entire force regardless if they are in the right or not. This thread is a great example. What if one of them got hurt....or damaged Gov't property in the act of playing around?

The caution tape was getting ridiculous EVERYWHERE.

Did you get into the 0% financing? I almost traded my truck in for a 1 ton!! -
I had a great time...spent a little time going from camp to camp and caught up with JoeDuner, Bert, Randog (with broken part in his hand), Barefoot Bob (Michelle and Kelly? too), HarleyR (at the South Pole), Wingnut, SinCityBlondie, Jackie, PaulyPaul, CDAVEGO (at comp)......and some dude named Steve with a Coors light 18 pack hat. I would have been back for more visits, but I had a good buzz so leaving camp without someone else driving was out!! I did get a good quad ride in on Jon's LTR (my first real ride in the dunes on a bike with power). We went up the Sperry wash trail then veered back towards the North Pole.....and back to camp through the dunes. ....I also managed to get a gooooood rail ride in on Fri before it was too crowded. Observations: -Joyriding a Ranger is fuggin funny!!! (went to comp hill Sat late night, but no one was around) -Two drunk guys wrestling around camp on the cliffs always ends up with someone hurt. (One dude in our camp got up with a black eye from face planting into the rocky ground) -Wishing someone bad luck on a ride is bad for the Karma!! (we had a guy come back with a broken foot after someone wasn't being nice) Riding boots are your friend! -I laughed and partied so hard this weekend I feel like I worked out like Arnold used to. -When someone is driving and tells you to "get small" if something happens....be afraid...be very afraid. So even though we had "face plant" and "club foot" in camp it was a great time...lots to watch and do. :no_no:

Nice...and they want to raise our fees. That ticks me right off. Effers!! Good pics...they need to be used for leverage at the next TRT meeting.

Sorry to hear about your loss....RIP Omar.

That sucks...I'm having mine at home. I need to practice with the welder to get my steering box fixed. Apparently nobody can find a replacement. I love it when parts that have part numbers don't exist because you can't tell them what vehicle it goes on.....

That's when they start....but when they actually score a hit I think it's touche...but with an accent over the e.... tou·ché 1. Fencing. (an expression used to indicate a hit or touch.) 2. (an expression used for acknowledging a telling remark or rejoinder.)

Almost looks like it's setup for handicapped riders. Did you get a chance to see it running?
