I ran across some of the pics from my rail build and thought I would share. I must have spent 2 years putting it together....just by looking at the pics of my property....things have changed a bunch. Here's the frame I started out with. It was an old rear engine rail my uncle used in the 29 palms area. It was actually stolen and recovered at one time. He kept it in the Torrance area so it started to rust pretty bad. I'm sure I paid way tooooo much for it, but I was stoked to have a project rail to build. Gotta love the fiberglass!!! How about the beer keg fuel tank?? I had that frame stripped and all of the fab work completed for suspension seats and everything, then that's when my buddy called me and told me about a mid-engine frame for sale. I had to have it so......I sold the one from my uncle and picked up another. (NOTE: the above rail is being re-done for BITD racing. It now has LT a-arms in the front and will be running a Honda powerplant. I hope to help in the pits in '08 when it is entered) Here's the Prowler SandSprite IV frame that I purchased........ ...notice how the bar that supports the seat backs and fuel tank is welded in? Pretty secure!! RRRRIGHT! I put the rest of the pics I found here: Click me It's not much to look at, but I did build it from the ground up and am happy with the results. Now it's time to get "CHIP" painted or powdered.

Not paying Republic only stops any curb service you get, however, if you don't clean up your property then it becomes either a health violation or a code violation.....that's when the County has to step in and enforce the codes for public safety. They are not in bed together. I don't see how they are...but I'm over it. We used to have an old '69 ford.....don't remember what model....that we mobbed around the 29 palms desert for a while. We got it stuck in a wash and my old man got so mad at us he parked it for good. It was a blast while it lasted though. Eventually it became good target practice.

Last time I checked the dump is privately owned and not owned by the county. It was explained to me that car parts are NOT household items, therefore they aren't covered on your standard bill for trash service. I dumped a bunch of stuff at a sub-station and was charged extra for the fiberglass baja fenders I trashed, however, the rest of the stuff I had was free to dump with my most recent bill.......

Whats your opinion; short bed or long bed
SandBox_Kid replied to zoom-zoom-Suze's topic in Truck, Jeep, & Car talk
My '69 is also an antique...but it is a long bed. I was referring to the fact that we own 4 pick-ups and only 1 is a long bed. -
Seriously......not me, but I did buy my son a couple in the past and had a blast. We probably fired them off too close the Nellis AFB.

I guess I've been burned one too many times by my employers. I am totally 100% committed to what I do as a job...but dedicated. No. I save that for family and friends.
-
If he paid you enough I'm sure you wouldn't have that 2nd job. What an azz...... As far as dedicated....well, since loyalty is overrated here.....my dedication doesn't go far. I work for a lifestyle......there are plenty of jobs that will fit that bill.

1. Finish my 50lb weight loss.....25 down....25 to go. (I've let it go the past month or so...holiday's aren't helping) 2. Finalize the rail and maybe get it painted or powdered. (It's been nick-named "chip" until then) 3. Continue to enjoy life and improve my health.

...and that little $hit doesn't know how to listen. He needs to stop jumping without a spotter!! We had a great time and it was good to be in the dunes again. The rail ran great with the exception of breaking a stud off of the steering gearbox....after leaving the North pole waiting for DDR. It was a killer ride just before we broke. My observations.... 1. Tools in the dunes paid off for me!!! 2. My son make me proud helping other fellow duners out this trip. 3. Extra parts can save you $$ and keep you riding till the end of the trip. 4. Pit racers doing donuts and then rolling is really hilarious!! 5. Talking to complete strangers because you recognize their rail from online can save your trip. Thanks for the nitrogen and battery Joe......hope your son liked the beer. My bro-in-law really appreciated it. 6. Waiting for a DDR ride at the end point sucks.

I got a set of black ones.....only in a size 10. I guess I'm a rookie. I also got an Alpine deck for my truck. Thanks son. I'm gonna have to agree with ya on that one. Congrats Joe. I guess you do have friends with tools that know how to use them.
