  1. Nice vid... My boy says you're a better driver than me. He also says he wishes I drove fast like that... Keep them coming!
  2. We're probably going to be in LA still, but have a good time. Yah, I grew up here, in whats now called Eastvale, when the majority of my neighbors were still cows...lol.... Not as many flies back then until all these stinkin people moved in haha
  3. Haha... I've probably cut you off on the road then... My shop/yard is in eastvale, close to the Lowes
  4. He is 4 1/2 now . What started as leg pain, quickly became a limp, and now is a complete refusal to ambulate. He is now on dilaudin, toradol, and oxycodon for the pain, and is responding very well to the meds. Last night was the first night of sleep he, or I, have had in close to 6 months, due to his pain. Kids are awesome, and Yes, they can overcome the impossible. My Jake made a full recoverey after a pool incident, code blue, when he was two, and I'm praying for the same outcome now. He is our miracle! I'll post an update as soon as we know. Big thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers from everyone. I'm really looking forward to bringing Jake back to the dunes, hopefully for the 70 regatta, when this is al behind us
  5. signing in from LA Childrens Hospital...wasn't sure if I was gonna post up anything; but we are gonna be here for a while. my 4 yr. old boy has been suffering from leg pain since january. It has progresse to the point that he is no longer walking...we have been battling with our insurance and with doctors, and with radiology departments for the last 10 months. blood work , x rays, CT scans, and 4 MRI's later, we are finally getting to the bottom of it. He was misdiagnosed twice, but they finally found something. He has a tumor in his right femur, and we have been admitted . He had a sample drilled out of the femur today, and we are waiting for a biopsy to detrmine if it is cancerous....he was taking vikadin, but was switched to intraveineous morphine drip. what sucks more is that our insurance hasfought us the whole way....long story... we are at a great hospital, though; and we are confident we going to get the best treatment here. Grandmas are taking turns with our girls, and we are camping here at the hospital, obviously scared about the pending results. My family and I believe prayer works, as I've mentioned before. We have quite a group praying for our little man, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask for a few more.
  6. I have cb's in the tow vehicles, and a portable (walkie talkie size); but no one I camp with has them, so not really. Ch 9 is a dedicated emergency channel(nationwide) and ch.19 is a dedicated info channel...the truckers will usually help you out with traffic/ construction/ lane blockage/ bear reports ( ) , as long as you can "talk trucker" and not sound like a kid playin with dad's radio. The radios come with a 70's stigma, but I've saved myself from more than one speeding ticket with them BTW: are you the same "aseman" I've heard on the radio near fontana
  7. Sucks to be me...I'm on call for work tomorrow, so I'm not going to get there this time. I'm afraid work is going to devastate my dune season...I'll take ya up on the offer next time Can't wait to see the trip report pics!
  8. This can represent one of my passengers after a good buggy ride We grew our own last year, and one had a patch of green on the side, so this is what I came up with
  9. right on I'd drag all the toys up with my 'lil pickup..., if we day trip it. I'd like to get a 2 day weekend, and bring da bus, but still not sure if work will cooperate for even a 1 day~er. I'll let ya know if I'm coming; but I probably won't know until that friday. I know my boy is excited to go; all he can talk about is riding the sand rail in the "buggy sand"
  10. I'm trying to sell the wife on the idea of the OHV safety certificate, for my boy, to get us up there for a day trip. We could stick around for the trick or treating thing, too. If we can make it, anyone care if we tag along for the day?
  11. That report was definately worth the wait. I figured you had some killer pics coming. Big congrats on 10 years; My wife and I are coming up on our 10 year as well. I figure I gotta go big for that one. I was still a little scared about those stingrays, even if I'm retarded . Great pics as usual! I especially like the scenery shots, like the waterfalls and those trees that look all crazy. I would dig on the positive attitudes over there as well. Happy with life, despite it's pitfalls...awesome :cocktail:
  12. Just saw ddr has its own employment thread My company is looking for a class A driver for a new position with min. 3 yrs exp. , a clean driving record, a tanker endorsement. Tanker and/or end dump experience is a plus. Work has been picking up, and we are consistently turning down jobs due to a lack of manpower. I'm currently running an ad on craigslist, and thought I'd present the opportunity to any DDR peeps that live in the So. Cal area. If anyone is interested, please send your resume and a current DMV printout directly to my email: andydew@sbcglobal.net
  13. Nice video Great idea setting the camera down for some different angles
  14. I kinda figured that I always figured I gotta laugh at myself before I can laugh at anyone else...so far, It seems like the previous is all I do

I didn't end up making it there today. Figured I'm short on cash, so why tempt myself with the big ticket stuff I can't afford, even if it is only 40 minutes away. My car is dialed in, and I don't think I NEED anything. That funco looks good, and I love the look of the pro bros, but honestly, I like the gen IV's best anyhow. Yeah, I kinda wondered if that'd be the case compared to last year. We went last year, and besides a sunburn for me and my lil boy, we didn't really come home with anything except the up n coming heart attack from the turkey legs and fried twinkies
  16. I did some snorkeling off Maui when we honeymooned there...got a little carried away with it and ended up following a stingray, or maybe a sea ray, out kinda far from shore. Next thing I knew, there were three of them, and I started to panic a little That was right around the time that australian animal dude (the one that said "KRANKIE")got killed by a stingray. At the time I thought I was swimming for my life, but looking back, I was probably just being a retard good times for sure!
  17. You're gonna enjoy it! I never got certified, but some buddies that were, took me for a friends bachelor party 5 yrs ago, and it is still one of the most memorable things I've done. We went off Catalina, in about 30' or so. I never realized how kelp grew...amazing, like a forrest or something. We got some great pics! Saw my first Halibut, besides at the grocery store . Looks like a little flying carpet creature when it scuried away. I ought to get certified, it was so much fun! Looks like you've already learned to take the breathing thingy out of your mouth for pictures , so you're already ahead of me Thats cool, too, that you guys can enjoy this together.
  18. I had a pair of 38's on a dodge ram with a 9" lift 10 yrs ago or so...It didn't do so hot. It was a long bed crew cab, though; so probably an issue with a lack of weight on the rear tires. Plenty of hp, just a lack of traction made it spin and chatter. Probably comparing apples to oranges because of the vehicle differences . It was my first lifted truck, and I still swear it's the reason my wife fell in love It would make it up comp @ glamis, but just barely

I got busy with my addition project on the house, and forgot all about it Might just head down for a few hours today Nice pics for sure; those SCU's are looking good, but curious about that Funco as well. How was the show this year? Anything new or innovative that you just had to have?
  20. gotta get a trip in there someday...looks awesome great video
  21. My wife and I made a point to go see the memorial as well, when we honeymooned in Maui, and then took a puddle jumper flight over there. Certainly a humbling experience. While we were there, 9 yrs. ago, they premiered a showing of pearl harbor on the beach, the day before we went to the memorial, which made it all the more chilling to take in. I think you got us all beat riding home on the Reagan...TOO COOL Killer pics of a killer trip.
  22. I enjoyed following your progress on your first build. I can relate... I'm looking forward to the update pics as you go. Your gonna be proud when she powers over that first dune, I'm sure. Any timeline going yet...gonna be ready for this season? Who made the frame originally? How much travel are you looking for? I'm thinking you did good on those a-arms...got those left and right arms/heims tucked in nice and close together Looks great, just make sure you switch that paddle out to the correct side at some point
  23. yup, mine is a LMM; an '09. Stock air tube with K&N replacement. Never had an issue...yet I have an edge programmer on it. I know that it sends a clean sensor reading for the DPF that has been removed, but not sure if it does anything for the maf sensor...maybe that's why I'm doing ok with my k&n... just thinkin out loud, I really don't know. What happens when it goes into limp mode? power loss, warning light? If I know what to look for, I won't have to write a question on this site asking the chevy doc's, revealing how ignorant of a mechanic I am
  24. ^ I got the k&n in the stock box as well. No problems for a year and a half now. I got a hook up; brand new for $50...it was a no brainer. I'm happy with it
