This was probably the thread I was thinking about, but couldn't find. Thanks for the link! Murriatic acid doesn't sound terribly expensive either, so that's good news. My latest is missing a pull starter, so I might be looking for one, if someone has one...Might just order up an Lifan and be done with it Is there a way to check the vin/ dmv history without actually going in and being slapped with possible late fees. I don't think you can do OHVs @ AAA, but is there any other way to check if it's still in the system? As for the cost...I'm a little bit worried what I might spend; My wife says my spending habits are "impulsive" Wait till she finds out what I bought when she left for a few days . I got a few ideas up @ the regatta...I'll post up pics whenever I get started

Well, I haven't even gotten started on building my first, and a craigslist ad screamed at me to take a look...and my wife was out of town So, now I have 2 '85 70's...Yah, another set of twins I'll probably combine the best parts of both, and keep a sound stocker/ beater/guest toy, and build the other one for me . My latest one has some substantial rust in the tank, and I want to address that before I do anything else. I've seen this come up before, but what works, what doesn't? Also, slightly less important, both of mine were bill of sale only. What is involved in trying to get them stickered again, or is it just not worth it?

I'm no techy, but here's what I do: When you open up a "add reply" window, here on DDR, click on the link "click to attach files". You can browse through your computer, under my pics, and click on the pic you want. If you're really good, you hold the ctrl button down and click up to 10 at a time. If it won't post up, you may have to resize them, which is just as easy. Once you get it to work, it's a piece of cake If all else fails, read thru the ddr forum help threads

That's the truth! Sometimes the nicer aspects of where we live, and what we think makes them safe, actually make us a target On second thought: Just get yourself a lil pellet gun, mount a scope with night vision, and make the lil' gangstas some pokadots on their face. :mischevious: Worst case scenario; I don't think the cops would arrest ya for a pellet gun, if you got caught that is

I assume you have it mounted from the house looking out toward the street... I agree, sim. is better than nothing. Maybe get some signs stating property is under surviellance. Also, You can find a 4 camera package at costco for around $300-400 I think, if you want to step it up. I put up an eight camera set-up. I haven't had any problems since. I've never caught anyone yet; I think they see the cameras, and steer clear...which is exactly the point! good luck

I'll be there with mine, regardless how many I aquire . Hopefully my boy can run in the kiddo class. He'll be just under 5 next year...we'll see how his motor skills are; actually, I'm just concerned with his braking skills I'll vote for that right now as well... so long as I'm not racing against them

Haha A few of my buddies talked about building an adult sized big wheel. Lookin at it, though, I don't think I'd have the nads to go 35 Congrats
-
That sounds official enough for me; thanks! I just didn't want to build something that would be disqualified... as long as I only own 1, that is ( still searchin, though.) My wifey is outta town for the week, so I'm thinkin I should order all my shtufff now. :ddr: what she don't know, won't hurt me

Well, I got my first 70, and the ol' gears are a turnin! I'm searching for plastics, seat cover, and tires, etc., and...thinking about what motor I might want.. I can't find what I thought I read, but I think I read next year's regatta will be limited for motor sizes. I wanna make sure I'll make the cutoff, before I spend the cash; any official numbers for cc's ? Also, anybody got reccomendations for powder in I.E./ Riverside area?

Charma here's a few pics of homeboy's beamer: These show where he hit my awning arm...no visible damage to mine there was also a few swirlies down lower on his D.S. door where one of my $2 lug nut covers scraped around... Can't hardly notice on my ol' bus: As for the the high beam thing, I'd definately adjust your lights when you tow. I imagine the toyoter must squat a bunch out back, pitching your headlights up in everyones eyes, as well as their mirrors that stuff kinda breeds road rage, ya know

We had an accident this last friday heading out as well. Different road, but same old idiots. Mine was a preppy rich kid in a bmw that didn't wan't to merge into traffic in line, but chose to cut off that 70' long motorhome/ trailer, me, that was crawling in 2-5 mph traffic. The clown thought he would crowd me out, and I'd back off and let him in;... 1 problem, from the blind spot on the right side, I didn't see him until I heard a crunch. He hit my right side against his left side. He had a few girls in the suv with him, and I can only guess what he had on his mind. He was a total prick, though. He wouldn't admit what he was trying to do...I was so mad, I was ready to knock him out, but I'm hoping he'll get his down the road. Anyhow, people will always be inconsiderate, and sometimes wreckless. I was told if someone wants to be an idiot...just let 'em. BTW: I only lost a $2 lug nut cover, and he's looking at $1000 deductible

What a day. My first regatta. Definately gonna be riding in this next year Drove 7 hours today for 8 hours play, but completely worth it. Got off about 100 pics, here's just a few; I'm sure everyone else is gonna have some great shots! It was good to put a couple of faces with the names; wish I could've just hung out a little more...there was quite a bit going on though. Thanks again to Pete for the help, and to Carol for the dramamine; My wife was glad she didn't end up losing her breakfest Still got in a couple of buggy rides for the lil' boy. He now wants a 70, and 2 pink ones for his sisters
-
Woohoo, looks great! I'm heading out about 4 in the morning for a day trip . See 'yall for breakfest

No expert myself, but I've been told to pass on the savings for the chinese parts, but rather, to pay a little more for the german made stuff. afterall, you get what you pay for

So I'm hoping to roll up there for saturday...Long drive for just 1 day, but thinkin I'll just come with my pick up to save money on fuel. Might bring the toys, but not sure if I'll see any sand time, or just be watching the atc chaos. It all depends on whether I have to work sat. am. I'm kinda hoping somebody has a pair of 70s for sale :contract:maybe afte the races I don't really know anybody, but it's just gonna be 1 big campsite for everyone, right?

Does it come with a set of paddle tires ? glwts

don't know if anyone has tried it, but we've used an acid on bad tore up aluminum trailer wheels that has cleaned them up real nice. It doesn't come out polished by any means, but a lot cleaner and brighter. Just dilute it properly, spray on, wait a few and rinse off with the pressure washer. My stuff is called alumabrite, in a one gal. jug, that we got at a fruehauf trailer dealership; but I'm sure you could find something similar online.
