Sweet, we do a week up at Shaver lake every year for labor day. I heard they were going to drain it. Have you heard anything about this? Maybe they'll knock out some of those boat sinking boulders lying just under the surface unmarked. Thanks everyone for the congrats on the twins; gonna be adding on to the house too, more than likely

I've been on an emotional rollercoaster lately. I've been all down in the dumps about work being slow; yet that gives me time to go play...on a budget. A few weeks ago my wife tells me we're expecting. Caught myself staring at the wall wondering how to pay for that. We weren't trying...even trying not to with birth control. On the upside though, she went to her first ultrasound only to come home telling me we're expecting TWINS I'm truly stoked! The boating season will have to be minimal, and next sand season will get a late start, but my funco will have full seats for every trip! There is a lot of excitement brewing amongst the families. Maybe I'll post an ultrasound 4D shot in a couple of months under the "future DDR duners" thread!

How many more trips do you have planned or are you done?
andydew replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
Just got back from 3 days in glamis. I'm hoping for 1 more trip this month, maybe two depending on when friends can coordinate a trip. I've been jones'n for another dumont trip since last nov.! I got 5 trips in for the seaon so far; This is a new record, normally work comes first. It's been a great season for me, but I don't want it to end just yet! -

:flatbiller: I agree, bad year... I started kindergarten that year, and it was demerits and detention ever since -
Weight can be a big factor, but other than that, nothing major... might not be able to find those billet clamp on items like mirrors, grab handles, and whip mounts, etc. You can always weld tabs for that stuff now, if you haven't already, or justmake friends with a good cnc guy, and go 1 off custom on the billet items

I borrowed the wifes tahoe today to change the oil like a good husband would, only to discover a nasty looking burnt mark about halfway up the dipstick, far above the pan oil level. Mileage on oil change was normal, oil looked normal, but the dipstick has me a little concerned. I'm wondering if this is common on the 5.3? It could possibly be where the dipstick tube passes by the exhaust manifold...but I thought I'd ask if anyone has seen this. the mark is also where the seam in the dipstick is. It has been an awesome vehicle with no complaints, currently @ 35,ooo miles. Anyone have an idea

WOW, that video was awesome! Please let us know when the tv show airs, so we can all tune in. As for business, well...No busyness here. We have 5 trucks, 21 trailers ranging from end dumps to tankers to lowbeds to box vans, a bobcat, and two front end loaders; and we have about 6 hrs. of work a day to share between them all. We've had to lay off drivers, and are down to 3 employees, counting myself. My company has been the victim of numerous bankruptcies on the part of multiple debtors. On a happier note, I've completed payment #4 of 48 on the funco

Don't know about the dodge in particular, but I know all makes after the middle of '07 have a diesel particulate filter blocking up the exhaust, crushing any hopes of good fuel economy: Thank you big government 20 mpg was expected with these trucks before, but with these new regulations, you can't expect but 15 or so. You can always buy the programmer and remove the garbage cling ons under there, just make sure you save it. Don't get the sawzall out too quickly, because you'll probably have to bolt it all back up one day.

I'm slowly evolving; I got a new phone with the qwerty keyboard. I'm still a little reluctant, but it does help with some craiglist responses where I don't really care to talk to my tweaker customers I have to admit though; it can be very annoying, to be out to lunch with someone that is married to it. As in family gatherings, where you go out of your way to get everyone together, and they stare into their screen, not connecting at all with the people that are there with them.

:DDR: vote up peeps. I only wish they'd suspend the diesel particulate measure that's GOING TO kill the trucking industry this coming January. I just got my notices in the mail. :ahhhhh: Get involved people, and help stop this leftist :ahhhhh:

A CA. Class A will make you legal to pull some serious weight, but if you're pullin 2 trailers, you'd still need the doubles endorsement. (just so everyone's clear) Just don't go get a commercial Class A, unless you absolutely need it for work or something, because of the stricter requirements as mentioned in earlier posts.

It could match my rail pretty easy, too! <-------------------------------------------

DANGIT, I like your trike! :shoot: Wanna sell it? haha

1st. make sure it's not a linkage problem. It could be as simple as an adjustment on the shift rod that runs between the seats. The shifter box could have reached it's forward limit of throw, before the shift rod/bar clicks the trans in; if that's not it,... it could get expensive
