kudos for wanting to try something different; but I'm guessing the bike is a lil' too heavy..., a lil' to low..., and prolly geared a lil' too high. As long as you have a few buddies willing to drag you out, heck, I'd give it a try

Wow... Looks like you had an amazing trip. Great job editing!

andydew replied to dunefreak's topic in Honda 70 talk
That's freakin awesome :headbang1: All these years, and we finally find out what that song was about...My wife and kids even made the cut with the wagon Thanks for the video, and again to all involved, thanks for some great memories -
^Partially, but not totally Last night she wouldn't load for me either. If and when that happens, I just figure some smart tech dudes are working on it, and a little while later, whallla

5th Annual ATC70 Regatta...updated: event canceled
andydew replied to dunefreak's topic in Honda 70 talk
I hear ya Pete; but man that sucks. I made it to #3 to watch, and to #4 to race participate . I get questions about it often when I'm wearing the shirts. Even if you decide to drop the event, I for one want to say how impressed I was with all of your efforts, and what a great event you all put on -

btw; I also ended up with a one ton, and a dually at that; but it was more like 9 years later my lil' 4.8 and flowmasters ripped...I miss her :chevy:

I had a 1/2 ton chevy with the 4.8 baby v-8, and I towed 9-10k lbs. in a 28 footer for years. 2 things you will need: 1. weight distributing hitch ( I have one I'll sell you) 2. the brake controller...agreed, it's not an option It can be a lot to control, with all of the already stated factors( side wind was my worst enemy @ 28'); but as long as you don't drive like it's a freakin nascar race, you should be fine

the only 70 on the Big Island of hawaii
andydew replied to Island Chain Racing's topic in Honda 70 talk
Man, that's cool. Really ties it off having the surf in the background with the whole ICR thing. I've only visited once in my lifetime, 10 years ago, and I miss it; I can only imagine how you must feel. -
Rule of thumb is for every 15 lbs. of boost, you roughly double the HP: so 7-8 lbs. on 75 HP should be in the area of 110-115. You are correct though, you will always want to turn it up, until eventually you do, and then you WILL be rebuilding the motor again ... Not that I would know ...

I'd lean on the wisdom of some of these guys. I've spent a lot on hopping up my toys. Honestly, I think the 2900 you're thinking about spending will not get you as far as you want to go. On the other hand, there no better feeling than duning something you built. Whatever you decide, around here all we ask is to post lots of pictures of your progress

Got my Ostrich Seat back from the customizer!
andydew replied to flavtfan's topic in ATV / Motorcycle Talk
I was with rushjunkie on this, but it looks pretty sick! What did something like this set you back? I have an atc70 that needs a seat cover, and I'm getting an idea -
True true; ever since I got mine, I've been swarmed by models wanting their picture taken
-
Too cool! Is that a stand alone unit, or is there more that gooes through the wall? What's something like that run? This heat wave is killin' me, can you tell :surrender:

This is in vegas? -
looked like a swing axle to me too, but wasn't 100% sure. Limited travel is the first issue. I fabbed up a turbo setup on my first car as well, but I had issues from day one. never got it running great, and when it did, i had to be real careful not to get it too hot. If I were to go back in time, I'd of paid for a professionally built turbo motor, or I'd have just committed to a subie or ecotech. Before considering turbos, engines, trans, suspension uprgades, I'd suggest just duning what ya got and making a fun time of it. I dumped more like $20k in mine. Started with a beam car, and upgrade by upgrade, you get deeper and deeper. Before you head down that road, I'd agree with sandawg, to learn the dunes, see how you like the car feel, and possibly consider purchasing a little more car down the road sometime. It is a buyers market right now, and looks like it will be for quite some time.

Valley of fire looks awesome. I'm gonna have to plan a trip there when the kiddos are a bit older. Nice pics!

Yah, I guess I forgot about my good camera sitting on the shelf . I didn't get any pics. We ended up with friends, swimming all day. I took it upon myself to be the arm cannon, chucking squashy pool toys at the kids. Eventually it was the adults at war. Needless to say, my shoulder is still recovering Teaching our kids how to swim, we all had a good time; grilling all day, only to finish off the night in the spa watching fireworks! Great bbq and a sunburn; doesn't get more better

Got my brand new radiator back from Grant. It looks great. It's maybe an 1/8" taller, so getting the mounting bolts in was a challenge, but whalla, it's in! I contemplated ordering one off ebay, for like $150, but despite my searching, I couldn't find an exact fit. I thought about buying one, and heli arcing new spouts to make it right, but I decided to just have funco do it. It ran $501, so quite a bit more than I was hoping for, but it's done, and I'm ready to dune once again
