Have you accomplished any New Year's resolutions yet?

Mine: don't make them to start with: YEP DONE -
My father in law has had Mac for years and he has always had problems with software, wireless connections, etc working and I can't help him when he has problems since I am pc and I just don't understand his Mac. There used to be a Mac user group here he could get help from but now they are gone so he can't get his stuff to work right and he couldn't even get wireless internet to work in SLC on his laptop. I also love my Dell and it picks up internet by dreamrr's cabin in Duck Creek!

Yea at Swains there is a bulletin board with a dozen or so contractors names to dig water lines and they are all too busy. I will check with the hardware store about renting one. I see a bunch of them parked on peoples lots but no one home. Even saw two on a lot in Strawberry and there were 2 S. Nevada Paving pickup trucks there. I even talked to a dirt guy up there about me buying a backhoe and having a business up there full time be he scared me with the getting a contractor lic info. But he did offer me a job running one of his!

Anyone have a backhoe in Swains Creek area that could dig a 90' waterline trench and install/connect it all to a hydrant?

Except for the form that everyone signs saying they live out of state and did not pay Utah tax so its hard to say later that you thought it was included in the price. -

Thought of that but does that open lines of communications and admit guilt and then get in a pissin contest to prove it is in Oregon? Plus everyone that buys in Utah and doesn't pay sales tax signs a form that says they are not residents of Utah and didn't pay sales tax but will pay in Nevada or something like that but I didn't get a copy of that form. Maybe someone has a copy??? -

I answered the Craigslist post too. I also bought a Rhino in Cedar last year and also got the letter last week. The dealer assured me that they do not give out that info to Nv but that must be a lie and I plan on blabbing that all over the internet so they will lose a buttload of sales. 3 guys I work with bought atv's in Utah 3 years ago and last year got the same letter and after calling the number on the letter got them to drop the extra fees and just paid the sales tax. We went online and looked at the law and it pretty much says that if you buy anything out of state and do not pay sales tax on that item in that state then you must pay Nv sales tax when you bring that item into this state. It says all items (not just atvs, or quads) so that means if you buy soda pop in Utah and don't pay sales tax there then you must pay sales tax when you get here. It is on the Nevada Dept. of Taxation website. I hope someone finds out, I called my DMV in Pahrump when I got the Rhino and they said they don't issue titles or registrations anymore and I asked how do I pay sales tax and they said: don't know. I called the DMV in Cedar last week and I can pay sales tax there of 6.75% which is the same as Pahrump but I have a problem with getting the letter and they don't even know if I brought the Rhino into Nevada or not, but I am guilty until proven innocent. -
I think everyone knows Bill, hopefully he put about 1000 gal of water in my tank this week. I paid for community water just need to spend another $2,000 to get a water line trenched to the RV.

My lot is in Swains Creek but I can ride the Rhino over to your place!

Wooohooo, off to Duck Creek today to take the hauler up for the summer season. Hopefully my property does not sell so I can stay all summer. I will think of all you peeps this weekend when I will be nice and cool running the Rhino around in cool weather and you are in 100 degree heat! Anyone have a jacket I can borrow? Oh and at dark:30 every night I will be sitting by the campfire watching the sun go down, watching deer run by, watching chipmunks play, watching the hummers fly by, etc. Oh and the fishing pond was just stocked with trout so I will be eating alot of fish cooked on the grill. Hey dreamrr, can you hook up wireless internet at your place so I can sit in your driveway and check my email on the laptop????

I don't even know what they are selling for, heard some very outrageous rumors for the upper lots. I would have to say check out the water/septic cost and availablility thing and see if you think it would be a problem for future buyers if you are looking for an investment. I went to the sales office today to meet the owner and have lunch but she was over an hr out so I left and came home. Be sure and check the lot that you are looking at, I had trouble with lot numbers, lot lines, lot numbers on stakes, etc up there and thats what I do. I worked in snow, sleet, rain, and about 20 mph winds today reminded me of the old Alaska days except that I didn't have the proper cold weather gear. Thought I froze my butt off but I checked when I got home and its still there.
-
I would say to check into the real cost of well and septic, that seems to be the big issue. Power will be up to $7,000 or more depending on how far from the road you want your meter.

Anyone hear the ads on the radio about land for sale in Fish Lake Valley? Snow capped mountains, trout filled streams, etc. I am staking the powerline for the 1300 ac. subdivision so if you have any questions let me know. I spent 3 days last week and 4 days this week and I am about 1/2 done. There is like 6-7 miles of power line to design and stake and all the freakin roads and lot lines are curves, angles, washes, etc. We lost a staker at work so I am doing this by myself so its taking a little longer. Nice weather, about 30 degrees in the mornings with a 20 mph wind, then in the afternoons in the 70's which feels like 100. Only fun part is I use the Co. Polaris to stake and gps the pole locations so that's ok for an old piece of crap quad.
-
That really sucks! I live about a 1/4 mile from there and will keep my eyes open as I work in Pahrump.
-
Where is your lot/cabin and how much? We looked at a bunch yesterday and are going back up today. But I am now thinking of selling out in Pahrump and buying a backhoe and moving to Duck Creek! what do you think of that?
-
I am in Cedar City, looked at cabins in Duck Creek today and put a FBO sign on my lot and now I am having second thoughts about selling it. We looked for almost 2 years before buying this lot and now I remember why!

Isn't this weekend the cop run from Baker to Pahrump?
-
The guy says that he does not have sand tires, because of the offset for IRS they are back ordered 3 months, anyone agree?
-
A pic or two would be nice!
-
Glad you got a good quad, just too bad a salesman told you wrong in the beginning and made you go thru the crap.
-
Crap, according to the Polaris website the 06 has the Polaris 500 and the 07 went to the KTM.
-
If I were to go buy one it would be the can am (bombedier sp) 650 outlander efi, it won quad of the year and they say is as fast as my Polaris Sportsman 800. There are a lot of people that do not like Polaris, they are not built like a jap bike. The new Grizzley 700 efi is nice too and I sold my KFX and am trying to sell my sandrail to get a 4x4 efi for Utah, no more carbs for me, well except for the Rhino which will be sold this year so I can go efi sxs.
-
We are talking about trading for my sandrail that I have listed for sale here. Think I could sell it for $5K? I turned down a trade for a Predator becasue they seem to not be good sellers.
-
A guy is wanting to trade me a used 06 Polaris Outlaw and he says its worth $7K which I see is MSRP for a new one. Anyone have one or know anything about these, value, any idea on selling one? I don't need one, would just do the trade and sell the quad. Thanks.

Dani, thanks I will check with my son, his wife may be on her way here today. Ragdoll, for some reason they were not interested in a beer fest/paint party??????
