I am going to add my opinion cuz you all know opinions are like a-holes, everyone has one but nobody wants to hear them. I love my Ford, I also would love to have a Chevy or Dodge. The Ford was what I found a deal on so I took it. And I have been mostly happy with it since I got it. All trucks have there problem areas. Mine was a weak tranny. But then again the truck has had 39's on it most of its life and wasn't geared. After the new tranny and re-gearing the truck had been issue free except for some maintenence items.

I pull the same trailer as Pete and use the single setup one. If I dont have the buggy in there which is heavy in the rear then I wouldn't need one.

I used to "dune" my truck. Then I listened to a friend 3rotortrav about all the issues he had experienced and figured its not worth it to break the tow vehicle cuz the tow bill can get expensive. I didn't even dune it last thanksgiving but still managed to break the front ring gear pulling people out. Luckily I still had RWD to get home. It was hell getting my big trailer out in just 2wd.

Sorry to say but riding doubles in the dunes is illegal except in utah. So if you plan on riding doubles at Dumont be forwarned that you will probably get a ticket.

I would like to help you out with this. I should be able to have a flatbed trailer out there also. If not I will at least have a truck to help out. Let me know.

My observations... 1. I was on time to leave for once. Actually had to wait for Craig aka 9digit. 2. Lost the altenator in the truck right when I pulled into camp. Still managed to make it all the way to Pahrump on battery power only. Was only putting out 8 volts when I got there! Thanks for helping out Ross! New altenator and two vehicles to jump start me and all is good. 3. Didn't realize I was camped with Jay until Sat morning even after shooting the sh*t with him Fri night at comp. Woke up and was damn that looks like Jay's truck. 4. Steveo finally got a high five from Junior. I think he found a new friend. 5. Ross (Justintime) and Dawn (California Oranges) surprised us by showing up Sat night to hang out. He brought out his kids quad for them to learn on. 6. My brother-in-law Eddie is the BBQ king. Never a bad meal when he is around. :no_no: 7. My lil bro-in-law Charlie is spoiled. He was driving his pit bike, his banshee, his little china made quad, his dad's buggy and his dad's jeep all weekend. 8. My trailer can sleep 4 adults and 6 kids with no problems. 9. 2pm ride got cut short due to Jim's wheel malfunction. Me & Junior, 9digit, Dman & his wife, Joe Duner, Wingnut, Ken and his buddy stuck around til Jim came back and made sure he was good, then we took off on a nice run of our own to the north pole. It was a fun ride. Had a great weekend. Wish I could have hung out a little more. Can't wait for the cleanup weekend.
