your right....strip center....I dont know what I was thinking. :beer_bang:
-
The blast center guy, changes media depending on what it is. I talked with him at lenght about stripping a 65 big block vette for a frame off. He actually did an early vette before. I dont have the number but he was pretty fair to me. Just call information and ask for the blast center. Its in that industrial complex with a high end body shop, nothing around but benz, bmw, porsches, etc etc...its right across the way. He did the entire 54 henry j body , and I ve got a 57 chevy for him to do next. BTW, they use plastic media most of the time, and it depends on what finish you want too.

Yea. thats why I went to the 3.3 instead of keeping the 2.o turbo engine. Great power when its on, like a banshee but off boost was dead. The 3.3 in na form is great, lots of 3 rd gear duning and easy on i. I understand the intake situation too, I overlook that cause I make all that kind of stuff everyday.
-
I ve had lots of stuff done at the blast center. Its over off of highland and edna. I ve had complete bodies done and it takes a day or less for them ussually.

Actually I was thinking of parts and maybe fix the one that you have. I cant say forsure what the difference is though, if its bore size or if its stroke. But I asked about the pcm, because if you have an ems its very easy to convert. I went from the 2.0 to a 3.3 with the same pcm and sensors . I just had to reconfigure and do alittle magic with the crank sensor to cam sync relationship. It was as simple as weld a bead, grind off the original sensor riser. The ems is very easy to tune, so is the link. It takes some rewiring but all pretty easy stuff. Not more then a saturday to get it running.

I have an 2.0 from a wrx that I need to get rid of. What pcm controls your engine?

I roll on this thanks to guys on a sand dune site.....Pete and Dan from powerhouse. My bike has amotor in it I got from Pete, and Dan helped me out with the changes that I coldnt find the time to do. It goes good in the dirt.....see all the dirt. That was after runnng on the dry lake bed. What an experience, just rolling into it at over 100 and its like doing a stopped burnout at the drag strip. other rides.... turboed, intercooled, water meth injection and forsale also forsale 1954 henry J with a srt4 drivetrain, turboed, 4 wheel discs, abs, air bags, cruise, ac, and 2300 lbs and 400 whp.

My daily business is ussually tuning of ls1's but I have an ems on my own suby car. Its a very easy system to tune. Do you it running? Do you have a base map to get started? I would require a o2 bung in the exhuast for my own wideband. I can put one in no problem if you chose to go that direction. I m guessing you have a version 4? I also do, fast, accel gen 7, BS3, megasquirt (megasquirt 2) , microtech, and lt1's. Probably half of what I do is for driveline shops re programming after tire and gear changes for speedo and shifting.

I have a close friend that works for parks and rec....they drive d maxes. He loves driving it around, its a fun truck, but he said he would never own one. The whole fleet has ongoing problems. His 07 has been in many times, and has never towed anything. He also says tht it runs different everytime, and that is what his brother c omplains of with his new mega cab. I wouldnt buy a lifted truck, it makes it much harder to tow anything esspecially a 5 th wheel or GN trailer, rendering it a useless truck. Every lifted truck I ve every been in rode much worse the stock, and handled horrible and ofcourse had lots of road (tire) noise. I dont like the mega cab, it ruins the bed, why does kid need 5 ft of cab space? I cant reach back and hand them anything, or slap them if need be.lol Id vote for option z, a 94-98 dodge , better mileage, lower price, last forever.

She turned five yesterday. That was her christmas present this year. Its her second one. She out grew her 50 cc. The pink one is a 110 with full size wheels and tires. That was her first day riding it, and she does great on it and has some room to grow now too. She wanted a bigger quad so she could climb hills...... I spend time with her at home and at he dunes training. Going over what to do in almost any situtation. I d like her to experience a two wheeler but I dont really want her or my boy to want a two wheeler. I think quads are safer.

The ss is not very stock.....turbo kit by me, water/meth injection, front mount intercooler, makes around 500 awhp. The cummins, is twin compound turboed, makes a tad over 600 / 1200 now on #2 only. The syclone is the slowest, but they leave pretty well.
-
It was nice out there
-
You should bring it up to vegas for a track night. We could get all these truckers to put up or shut up.......I ve got three trucks, that I think can take your ford though..... 1. syclone 2. 2005 ss silverado 3. 98 dodge 4x4 dually (its stick, and it is horrible from a stop, but from 20mph or higher its fine)

I dont pull a tag. I pull a real large goose neck. Ive never been stuck. I dont even air down. I run my tires ussually at 75psi. What you say, does make some sence though, regarding the load leveling bars.
-
I love these truck threads. I use a 10 year old dodge. Yep, 220k miles. I only pull roughly twice as much as anyone on this board. A 40 ft'er with a 4 quads...pphhhhstt.....thats not heavy, my trailer is that dead empty. Last trip it had 5 quads, 1 two passanger rail and one 144 inch wb 4 passenger rail, yes two cars and 5 quads, 2 generators, 2 roof airs, water, gas, firewood, roll around tool box, ez up, 9 chairs, 4 beds, clothes and food, . I pulled potesi at 60 mph at the top, in 5th gear, and for some reason when I start going up potesi with other haulers, by the time I get to the top, I cant even see them in the mirror anymore. Always fun. Cummins...... for regular people, they are all great trucks, Im just not regular.

it looks like I m looking for brian (indagully) north of the old vendors row. Ill bring some wood....and Im runnning my little gen all night till it runs out of gas, its pretty small though. red truck, and a really long black trailer.
-
That sounds good. I agree the kx65 will be the only one there, but thats a small bike to find.LOL. A lifted silver silverado (not the ussual white) and a big 40 ft will be a lot easier to spot essecially if there is a pink ranger around. I also assume that since its a 40, you dont go to far out off the beaten path, or into essecially soft areas. My name is Jon, wife is Jen, 2 yr old boy and 5 yr old girl....she got a new pink quad for christmas, that Im getting daddy to death with , when are we going to dumont? Its a 110cc......
-
I wil , only if I can go with some people/ camp ith someone. My regular group completely flaked out. Broke, broke, hurt, working etc etc.....and it was planned... So, Im looking for fellow duners cause I wont dune alone, essecially with the kids and wife cause its just to dangerous. We have a rail (subie), sammy, and quads.... Looking to be out sat morning till sunday 2-4 pm.
-
a kifted truck....and white trailer.....hmmm.....either you dont want company or youll have to narrow it down a bit? I ll have the only long black train out there, its easy to spot from space.
-
Are you or anyone else staying the night? I d be happy to meet up with anyone. Im sort of a safety guy, I play hard, but I try not to do anything to put anyone in danger. We dont drink, cuss, or smoke, but dont mind if you happen to either. I pull a 50 ft enclosed trailer, (all black with ddr sticker on back door) . I pull it with a 4x4 red dodge dually. All these day trippers....its to much work for me to go for just the day, two cars, 4 quads....all that loading and unloading, tying down ....etc etc.... I d like to head out sat am, let me know if we can make some plans. I even have some firewood....
-
Well, safely anyways. Is anyone going this week end? anyone with kids? I have a 2 year old boy, 5 yr old girl. Looking to camp with someone sat /sun. We take a rail, a samurai, and quads. Plenty of room for more passengers. Fatherin law and brother in law are suppose to go sunday, but I dont want to dune with the family alone, its always safer to atleast have someone to get a ride from back to camp if need be, or be prepared for accidents as best we can, even if they hopefully dont happen at all. Id be going sat morning, if I find fellow duners. Everyone else, is either hurt, broke, or broke, or busy...

My sammy goes up no problem. It has problems if I dont air down though. I store it with more air in the tires, and forgot to air down, and was about 3/4 the way up and was like, what the heck is wrong? I have some new tires now for the next trip, I suspect it will be even easier. It goes pretty much everywhere. Full size trucks......I love watching them.

Hey your the guy , I bought 317 heads from in bakersfield.....you know, the one that ripped me off, and did NOT sell me 317 heads , then would NOT respond? You remeber.....You sold me some cast iron gen 3 heads, but not 317 heads. How do you spell charma? Hey Ill tell you what, Ill still let you know if I see the rhino, God says to forgive right?

This is funny, I posted this question a couple years ago, shortly after that it was like 50-60 pages long (i did it on a big board) then it made its way around the entire net....... Always funny to read.

to lower your egt, you need more air or less fuel. More boost cools the egt down. Im not sure how its controlled on a d max, I drive a cummins. Real improvements in intercoolng will reduce egts but a intercooler change isnt enough. I run three intercoolers, and it helped. The easy solution was more boost. I tow by the egt, and boost. I try not to run over 40 psi on a hill simply becasue it sucks to blow a hose off and have to stop and fix it. I can run as much as 60 psi or so. Most hills are 35 psi 1200-1250 egt running at 66 mph @ 25500 lbs in 5th gear. My trucj has no cat. Bigger exhuast / less restrictive will also reduce the egt slightly. Some guys run straight pipes, or very large. I run a 5 inch to my exhuast brake which reduces to 4 inch, so its 4 from there out. A cai can also slightly reduce it. Ive run 1350 degrees for 14 hrs straight before (before the twins) and it makes you nervious. I d pull hills up to 1400, and run along at 1350-1375 for ever pulling a tad over 30000 lbs.
