What happened to the rail? I have the quads....and hopefully my wife will have alittle fun with the samurai tooling around.
-
hows that.....Dunefreak, thats not fair, you wont have your rail so I can get a ride? not fair. I might have the low budget SUKI out, and I think I have plans for my turbo zx11 engine now thanks to you partly.
-
I should be there sat morning with a few others, look for big black trailer if you want to camp with us. There are a few kids in the group, 4 -8 yrs old. Oh, when I say big black trailer, its 50 ft long, so you say oh dam thats long, thats the one.

Bob, I know it wasnt turboed, but I looked over the car very close, and what you can not see in the picture is the boost gauge, so it could have been geared high for a future turbo or supercharger . I know there are no tires either, but almost every LT sand car, runs something around 33 inches. And just duning is alot different then racing from a stop up comp(maybe he just came down a hill and carried 20-30 mph at the bottom). Everyone said impossible....its just what the owner said, and is possible with the right set up, but yea unlikely, even if it was 50 mph, doesnt matter caus ethe end result is in the pictures.

No Im not angry at all, the procedure became suspect, they just answered some questions in the post above yours. Sorry it took so long. Sorry guys, I know it was beaten to death, I am really sorry, Im glad some answers to the process were given.

actually if you read carfully, you ll see the MAY, which stipulates by its use that it is not definate. So by taking the word crook out of context you again twisted something to your side of your opinion with out telling the hole truth. And why did it take 15 posts and 2-3-or 4 from the company to even get an explaination, that if read carefully doesn't explain the the incident only how it could happen. So in conclusion, also add "may" to the words to look up. This has been fun, now 16-17 posts and no real information given at all, I feel like I could have guessed that. How is the guy that lives in the motorhome going to even pay the sales tax on it? And how is he going to secure it effectively? Or was he able to opt for a cash payment instead of the bike?

ok, who won? Didnt they redraw in part because people said something? What if nobody said anything? Would they have redrawn? Hmmmmm. And on the redraw, isnt it suspect because of what happened the first time? Who? who are they associated with? who do they work for? These seem to be very legit questions to me. The funny part is I dont even care about the drawing, but if there is apparent questions to the conduct then there are answers needed. So who would have the key to the lockbox? The same person that gives bikes to who they sponcer? If they give a bike away is it a different tax exemption then if they give it to a rider?

I wouldnt waist the time, the gas or the breath on a company that would even accidentally conduct business in such a way. On one hand they are crooks, on the other just to stupid to avoid such a situation. Im not sure which is worse. Its funny really, the defence argument is that were to stupid to have known.......... mean really why would you even call the first name? Not just laugh and say this one must be a joke cause he isnt even eligble.....
-
so how many redrawings will there be? You said they redrew a name when they figured it out after some people called BS. BUT IN THE ABOVE POST MR HOOPER says they will redraw today and announce it on the radio? Why announce it on the radio if they already fixed the mistake? Why would a minor and a SPONCERED rider even be in it in the first place? What were the chances? how many entries? how many of those were eligible? of age etc? Now that a "mistake" has happened the entire process becomes suspect and should be open for discussion and INSPECTION. you can think it all you want but the evidence is to the contrary and saying sorry doesnt disprove the evidence.

actually smoke is unburned fuel. I can drive all day with no smoke, or lug it (low rpm by upshifting early and lay into it. It dumps fuel based solely on the pedal, so if you mate it at 1500 rpm, it gets full fuel, and vola lots of smoke. The more boost, or really more air gets rid of smoke. By 2000 rpm it wont really smoke cause the boost goes past 40 around there. more fuel = higher egt More fuel= more smoke. more air = lower egt more air = less smoke

Thats nice, in translation: 1. a good excuse will be that he is under age. 2. the real reason he won the bike, cause the whole dam thing is a sham anyways. I think Ill end the post thats suppose to save our integrity by making a plea advertisment that I can sell them a bike....... misconception........carter powersports needs a new dictionary imo. Crook, thief, liar, may all apply but not misconception. You should also, look up integrity, honesty and a few others just for reference. So are you going to post the winners name ? family liniage, work place, previous work places, and their close friends?

no chip at all. The last year of the 12 valve cummins was 98. Early 98 rams had the 12 v that is completely mechanical. The only electrical parts on the engine are the fuel on/off solinoid and the starter. You can actually convert the fuel solinoid to a cable very easily so the only electrical part is the starter. Mechanical injection, no glow plugs, I dont even run a manifld heater, it doesn t get that cold here. I dont even run a waist gate actually, My big turbo is an ht3b and its sized about perfect, Ido run a manifold blow off valve (water heater valve 12$) that is adjustable from 50 to 100, and I have it set at about 58. The turbo size is so close to perfect though that it climbs slow from 54 to 58 and it so far is ready for the next gear before it ever gets to the blow off, then falls to 50 or so and climbs back up then shift again. Its probably due to the stock exhuast manifold that isnt even ported, I d bet an ats or high tech turbo manifold would caus ethe boost to go higher. I run a # 10 plate with 370 injectors witha 4000 gsk. Yes my cummins spins with no fuel cut to atleast around 4200 rpm. I ussually shift around 36-3700 when I need too.

s4 trans with 1.67 second and 4.43 r&p @ 6400 with a 33 inch tire= 84.9mph Most stock or cammed ls1's can go to 6400 but 70 would obviously be a bit less and very reachable. Remeber it had a boost gauge in it so the r&p might not be very low. Shoot it could have had 35's on it.....even. 70 is no problem.
-
boost ofcourse...........my water /alky doesnt even come on till 25 or so. How else do you get a 5.9 inline 6 to make over 1000 ft lbs? It pulls a 50 ft enclosed....its 9600 lbs dead empty, ussually 23500 -25000 full of toys.

Thats the one that I talked to the owner. Nice guy, I was amazed he virtually walked away. http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...?showtopic=2324 thats the story. It was a mechtech car from escondito I think. He said it was his second trip in that car, but he is a life long duner.

I would but, the reliabilty is better under 60. Some say 64 is safe, some say 70 psi is safe.....but Im still on the stock head bolts even, arp's are a stupid 449$ for the studs, so its gonna wait. The best part is the ability to smoke out people, tailgaters, dumbasses, they get it...a lot of it.
-
lots of little trucks, where are the big guns? powerjoke  twin turbo, triple intercooled, 6 sp, water/meth, 58psi, and over 200k on it, and the engine has never been apart. (stock head bolts even)
-
um....raising anything makes it more unstable to tipping over. Widening and offset wheels are the opposite. If you widen and put offset wheels on a stock hieght sammy, it is more stable then if you then lift it. BTW, I got a sammy. 1987, salvage title, flat tire, dent in front bumper. I had to do a little wiring to get it to run. Im into it for 12 $ yes twelve hole dollars and change so far. I drove it tonight up and down the street. It had a spare inside but the tread is coming apart on it. Aftermarket wheels, 59k miles, 5 sp, 4x4, tin top that Ill be doing some body mods to. Even the paint is decent. Its missing the gas cap, and oil fill cap. 12 bucks, so far, so I guess Im buying wheels and tires for the dunes, 1200 desert traks probably. bummer, Ill probably be into it to 1000 after wheels /tires, a cage, and harnesses.

methanol actually raises egt's. I m pretty lazy and its not that important to me for my truck to make more power (it does really well) so I ussually run windshield washer fluid, the -30 degree stuff from walmart is about 40% meth. For around town its good, and the egts stay pretty constant compared to having the injection off. When I tow I run straight water. Straight water brings the egts down on the hills. No problems at all. Ive done a few installs, being a dealer and I believe that many users inject to much. Mine comes on at 25 psi and ramps up from there to all on at 50 psi. I run two nozzles and a very high pressure pump. Because I also run three intercoolers, I dont even have to run the water/meth injection at all anymore, but in the summer pulling 30k lbs from a stop in laughlin in 125 degree temps, thats when it comes in real handy.
-
I run more boost (up to 55 psi) and water injection to keep egts down. I m a dealer for the water injection, and for around town you run methanol and get 50-100 more hp. Water for towing for keeping the egts down.

I know that the big three now g to great lenghts to detect the "boxes" . Some have special classes, some use very unique tricks to detect the addition of a performance box. From a connector seal, to a break away clip etc....thats one reason why I drive a 98 12 valve dodge/cummins. No warrantee for me, but I do have twin compound turbos, three intercoolers, water/meth injection, big injectors, and way over 1100 ft lbs to tow a 50 ft trailer. The d max should be fine with 8000 lbs.

I can get a lot in. Infact its never been full. I ussually just pul in what ever is going , it rare I have to pack. I can get two rails, a banshee, a raptor, a blaster, a nerf dog and have a little left over. Its 50 ft total, 42 ft of floor. I have a bed, heater, etc on the deck, 7000 generator and some cabnets. I hope to get some windows in , in a few weeks before the next trip.

I agree, but Ill also defend the builder. An unsupported tab is what is most likely to break anyways. And the rest of the car could be fine, maybe he had problems he didnt know about at the last minute doing the last tab for a flag mount? Maybe the gas was empty, or close, maybe someone used the welder for something else at lunch and he didnt notice it was changed? I d think just about everyone would gladly fix that for ya, its no big deal.

wow there is spine surgoen somewhere that just signed for his new benz, and can now pay for easy.

cummins? manual?
