Proposed fee change at Dumont
foolofsand replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
I agree with all the above. blm runs the dunes like obama runs the country. I dont care about the logistics of how to issue day passes and weekend passes. there is no reason for a person to pay $50 for a saturday at the dunes. there are no parks in the country that charges that outrageous amount. should be like $10/day or $25 for fri,sat and sun. there is no reason for a car with extra people and no atvs etc to even pay, that is a joke. fear not, the dune will soon be closed anyway and the blm bloats will be looking for jobs like the rest of us. :worthless_without_pics: -

Inyo PO POs in Tecopa Monday handing out tickets
foolofsand replied to Eliminator's topic in General Chat
ok, I know all the laws. are YOU saying its ok to have a loaded weapon in my parked motorhome at dumont.? hope so, cuz it is. I can use it to defend myself just cant use it for target practice at the dunes. you also can carry unloaded weapon in car in cal if in trunk or in lockbox in trunk or on seat next to you. thats is in nutshell. dont need anymore on this one. thanks for the fun. -
Inyo PO POs in Tecopa Monday handing out tickets
foolofsand replied to Eliminator's topic in General Chat
they are not too worried about someone having a weapon on them if they are pulling over for stupid things like trailer weight. ps-why do I want to go through all that hassle and then have to go go court in cal to prove my innocence when I was doing nothing wrong to be pulled over in the first place. I dont thing placing 5 patrol cars in tecopa is money well spent. how about going and getting the bad guys with that wasted manpower. :clown: -
Inyo PO POs in Tecopa Monday handing out tickets
foolofsand replied to Eliminator's topic in General Chat
depends on apples and oranges. the law has 2 points. 1-moving a firearm in a vehicle as above 2-having a loaded firearm in your motorhome(not moving and living in it) or in your toyhauler(again not moving and living in it). they each have specific laws since they are different. I can have my weapon in my motorhome at the dunes and be ready to fire, it does not have to be in a locked container. the laws are different from transportation as opposed to a home, motel room, mh or toyhauler you are living in. just more food for thought--aint this fun -
Inyo PO POs in Tecopa Monday handing out tickets

obviously, they are not too worried about it since they are pulling people over for pulling a load that is too heavy? regardless, this is harassment plain and simple. they really don't have just cause but the long hand of the law can make up one to suit their intentions. They are kinda like the BLM, how about pulling over the guys in buggies that go 90 next to camps instead of the kid that broke his whip and gets a ticket. -
Grey water tank fills up too fast problem.....solved
foolofsand replied to dune_rat's topic in Toyhauler/ RV Talk
guess we shouldn't bring food or trash either since there are pigs that go duning, outside far enough?-- how about lets just stay home and watch tv since that is what the govt wants us to do--that IS the box -
Grey water tank fills up too fast problem.....solved
foolofsand replied to dune_rat's topic in Toyhauler/ RV Talk
what to do?? 150 gal fresh, 50 gal poop, 50 gal grey. once the grey is full, how do I get rid of the extra 50 gal of water?? does that mean I cant use the rest of my water since I have no where to dump it? rules or whatever they are, are really logical. typical govt that doesnt have a clue in the real world. kinda like the no fireworks thingy in the middle of the desert since the rule if from the US Forest Service that the BLM adapted because they cant think for themselves. govt at its best. will get even better with obama. cant wait -
they are wrong, they cant read the dmv guide. if you have a class "c" license(thats what most people have for cars and trucks), then a "j" endorsement is needed for over 10000# in tow. ( the non commercial they are talking about applies only to the "a" class which is tractor trailer type in which the tractor trailer is a non commercial vehicle better have that supervisor quote you the nrs for his reasoning. the laws are about the same for all states, they are federal guidelines

who did you buy from? here in town (vegas)? how much otd if I may ask?
-
dont know what they have closed now, but if you can get to the date farm and take the paved road and go over kingston peak. that road used to be completely over the top into cima road and I-15. you would turn off way before I-15, the road is a biggie to sandy valley and then to primm. alot of access could be closed to the california closing everything.
-
hope they crash and burn

hope they crash and burn:beat:
-
easy, go up wash to date farm, take road over mountain where mine is, drop down into sandy valley(old cima -tecopa road), over mts from sandy valley and drop into primm from west side. there shouldnt be any closed areas and this old road is basically abandoned so shouldnt be problem with atvs. done it many times on motorcycles and never see a sole anyway.

is that going to be enough for the weekend? whose popcorn is this? is it the same stuff in the cafeteria at UMC?
-
bob, you didnt get my point. the bottom line is that all the guys who fly race planes, they dont use avgas, but racing fuel, so why should sandrails? avgas is just about only available at small airports and most have been instructed not to sell it unless for airplanes(been that way for years). yes, it is drier that other gas, it is lighter and you should richen jets to avoid detention. avgas is rated at altitude, not sea level. this is what I know, you know what you know. dont be hatin.

Free Child OHV Safety Course at Dumont on the 31st
foolofsand replied to Jmanx's topic in Dumont Happenings
do the kids have to pre-register or just show up? thanks -
you had better bring plenty, I dont want to miss out, esp carmel
-
I had to go to costco in bakersfield for 6 volt. vegas has never had them in costco. cal has carried them in the past. got some more 6volt at sams club, I had to join for $35, but still cheaper than anything else.
-
avgas may be illegal now for street avgas is hard to get without pilots license and only at small airports avgas is a drier fuel, no lubrication avgas is lighter and weighs less than race fuels avgas means you have to jet richer or you will go bang avgas for engines at 2500-3000 rpm at altitude avgas is not used by high performance aircraft, they use sunoco racing fuels etc. so---------why the hassle? you want performance with a performance engine, then buy the good stuff! :stir: :trickortreat:
