  1. Forecast is good. The weather shop were I work says so. They also said it would be sunny and hot today, then I had to roll up the windows on the car. But, I trust them.

I will be there but camped just near house #3 with some friends. Count me in on BBQ Al !!! Volunteer Needed: Looking for someone with a car that wheelies for some "experimental photography" My car doesn't wheelie.
  7. Got lucky tonight. I knew there was going to be a launch of an Atlas 5 out of Vandenberg this evening. I setup 2 cameras and made my best guesses as to were the rocket would go. This is about 70 miles away. You can see that an airplane flew by. I bet those passengers had a great show.
  8. Cool, now I get my 38 seconds of fame!! Really?? Add 5 more seconds of fame,,,, well, there were others that contributed, I'll give them my 5 seconds
  9. The calander is out and I got several copies at the SSSS. I'm pretty thrilled, the pics came out awesome and I got lots of compliments. It has been a good week between the ASA calendar and getting in Sand Sports mag. This calls for the dancing banana
  10. This one?? It was nice.
  11. Wasn't a fisheye but wide angle lens. Your noticing the distorted look if I get close and wide. There are some things it's not good for and people are one. Took a lot of correction to get some normalcy to a few shots.
  12. Spent the day Sat at the SSSS. It was great meeting up with some friends that I haven't seen in a while. Lots of vendors and $$$ food and $$$ drinks. Weather was perfect and it looked like a great turnout. I hit all the vendors, asked lots of questions and luckily didn't spend too much money. It was cool to talk to Doug Fortin about transmissions. He really knows his stuff and answered all my questions. I feel much better about that noise I've been having, its nothing to worry about. I went to Sand Sports Mag to get the current issue so I could see my photos and they didn't have any there. I was thinking WTF??? Only had older issues??? Lucky for me my subscription must have kicked in and it was in the mail when I got home. Hit up the BLM and got my season Pass for Dumont and made my way over to the ASA booth. They had the new calendar and I got several copies. Looks fantastic and I got lots of compliments. I bought a whip mount for my quad and went half on an LED light kit with a friend. I only needed 1 light. I did bring the camera and took some photos. Geez, the lighting indoors was terrible. I was struggling to get anything decent. I had to relearn some mistakes I've made over the years. Not a good photo session for me but I think you all might still like them. All the photos are HERE SLIDE SHOW Lots of awesome graphics: Need a sand jack?? Look out, he bites. Part of a BLM display: More Graphics: Brian Deegan Better than Brian Deegan Enjoy!! Edited to add some pictures.
  13. Your welcome. I guess I made it in?? I subscribed last month just for this, don't know when it will kick in. Still, Congrats to you Pete!!
  14. I know a bunch of you all have GoPro's. They released an update to the HD HERO cameras. Update Link
  15. After reading what I just posted, I should have just said "here is how to give your camera Extenze".
  16. Here is something for you guys that are more minorpixel than megapixel. My IR camera is only 6 megapixels. I took 4 shots vertically and stiched them together. After cropping, I wound up with this shot at 11 megapixels. Basically, I could take more shots and add to the overall photo size to meet any large print requirements. Obviously, I shrunk this down for posting.
  17. We had some weird weather today and the clouds completely covered the mountains. Here is the shot from the IR camera: Here is the Bryan M comparison (named for Bryan M): I don't like the color shot much and it was a wider angle shot, but I wanted to show the difference. I know IR light cuts through haze and such but for clouds, it's amazing. Hope ya all like it.
  18. This is back about 1981,82 time frame. Was my favorite dune spot in the summer. Whitewater dunes, I lived about a half hour away. Get too hot, no problem, blast through the cool water and hit the sand some more. Spent many a weekend here. This one is mid 90's. My son on his first quad at Dumont. We met up with the alien duners. Couple years later he graduated to a 125. This was the whole family. This was 1999 or 2000 plus or minus, our first buggy. Somewhere I have some more including Glamis.
  19. I'll get over it.... I thought I didn't hit the button the first time so I hit it again only to see two identical posts. Looks like it got deleted, thanks.
  20. Now we are going to see DDR showercaps for sale. A new trend. I love those old pics of the dunes and folks. I need to dig up some of my old stuff now.
