  1. The 6 volt batterys are true deep cycle. They have much thicker plates and can handle deep discharges without sulfating as bad (the death of a battery). They also have a much higher amp hour rating at higher amp draw than a 12 volt battery. They are much heavier and taller than a 12 volt. Bottom line, no comparison, two 6 volts are better.
  2. I was playing around and came up with a few alternatives of some of the photos. Thought I would share.

  13. Good choice on the D90. I use one and am very happy with it. The D50 isn't made any more. Did you mean D5000? Its a good camera also.
  14. I have AT&T. Very spotty in the camp areas. Seems better as you go easterly. Works at North pole good, voice and data. Works at or near the top of most dunes with a clear shot towards Baker. What people call Banshee hill, used to be called Cell phone hill. Works good there.
  15. One more for coil overs, for all the good reasons above.
  16. Some tri tip?? Dude, thats why i'm going.
  17. I do agree that this is a major problem and an accident is surely inevitable. Not if but when. It is the single biggest detractor of camp life out at the dunes. The problem is what to do about it. It’s more widespread than most would admit. 15 MPH is fairly slow and without technology, most probably couldn’t properly guess their speed. I always hear education as an option but for the last 20 years the problem isn’t better. Enforcement is an option, but do we really want to start seeing speed traps randomly setup around camps? The blatant disregarding speeder who hauls butt by a patrolling ranger vehicle usually isn’t stopped either, just too many of them. I really get disgusted when they haul butt right next to our camp. Running out and yelling “Get outa my yard” hasn’t been effective. I’m not sure what the solution is, but I know an imposed government solution might be worse.
  18. OK, I RSVP'd. I will be out with my camera gear. I'll also be looking for anyone who wants to volunteer for some night photos.
  19. Any chance of getting a press pass?? I don't have a 70,, just a camera.
