  1. Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment. They don’t always turn out well. I get about one good one every ten or so. Since I can’t adjust any settings, I have to improvise best I can. I have found that tilting the phone from the light source will affect the metering and try to use that to my advantage. I also have used a neutral density gradient filter handheld to get better results. It’s definitely challenging and I find myself usually complaining why I didn’t bring the Nikon.
  2. I don't always have my Nikon camera with me but do have a cell phone. These were taken the other day:
  3. Thats a lot of tickets for no flag.
  4. The elusive sand grooming process caught on film.
  5. That is a nice pic. I like the reflection in the water.
  6. Ok, I think I got it now. I still like first of the three choices. The second picture just seems edited, my perspective, and the third is overcooked. Lots of aliasing in the wheel wells and some of the formally shaded areas. I need to look at them again on my bigger screen at work. The pills I took today did say not to operate heavy machinery.
  7. Well I may have messed up. I went back and compared the two again. Seems I should have not have added noise removal on an already noise enhanced picture. It darkened the wheels. The color balance was still good correction. Basically, your original with color correction would be my favorite. Next time I'll give myself more than 30 seconds to make corrections to a photo. I think you get my point though.
  8. I put both of our pictures Together. The break is halfway on the yellow trucks front wheel. Left of it is yours. Also remember, each time I mess with a copy it gets more distorted.
  9. Open both in their own window and click back and forth. Like I said, the original was good on its own. I only made slight adjustments. In my opinion, your corrections opened up the shadows to a almost non natural look. Kinda like trying to add light from the opposite side. Having said that, you are the artist and what you like counts. Everyone else is the critic. Again, my goal was just to show a different perspective. I actually like the original, That bias probably shows in my approach.
  10. I figured I'd give these a try using a slightly different approach. You be the judge. I thought it was a great shot but needed a slight color, histogram, and digital noise adjustment. Next Since it seems all you wanted was to see his face better, I isolated his face and applied some fill flash. This way the fence isn't disturbed. I didn't spend a lot of time on this, just wanted to show the effect. Some blur would smooth it in nicely. You might need to compare the pics side by side. I try not to go overboard. I'm also assuming these were downsized for posting. Your thoughts?
  11. I really like that moon picture. One of these days I need to get to Vegas to do some night shots, everything is so lit up. Lots of colors. Out here in the CA high desert, there's no tall buildings that well lit up. Again, great photo. Good luck with the new site. Here are mine if you want to look. Nealrideoutphotography.com
  12. Does anyone have any pictures of an E Track system installed in their trailers? I'm looking into installing them in my trailer but would like to get an idea of what others have done. Any pros or cons would also help. Thanks
  13. I had to look at my pictures and interestingly, this picture is almost identical. Almost taken from the same perspective. I guess it was you and your family. You did walk up to us asking for trash and I was the guy who said thanks for doing this. Kudos to you and your family.
  14. Just a thanks to the family at North Pole doing their own personal cleanup weekend. I didn’t get their names but it was a husband, wife and three kids. Each had trash bags and was cleaning up the area. They even went around asking if we had trash to get rid of. I told them thank you for doing that at the time but feel more recognition was in order. Again, thanks guys for doing instead of talking.
  15. Wal Mart has cheap inverters that will run a 13 inch tv.
  16. Great, just the autistic response I was expecting.
  17. This is your idea of constructive debate and executable ideas? Bashing others opinions? Glad your on our side, I guess.
  18. No, I don't think I implied I want zero tolerance enforcement. If a cop can't use good judgement nor see the "big picture", then he is worthless. I was more interested in the new law empowerment of the BLM.
  19. Thanks for the reply. Let me expand on my original comment. The speed limits are from vehicle codes and not changeable at the law enforcement level (I’m remembering my schoolhouse rock "I'm just a Bill" song). If not in the codes, how can you be ticketed for an infraction? As far as the federal register, I have checked it each week now for a month and gone back to 2002 looking for anything on fees (or anything) at Dumont. I have not seen any posts. The law requires this. I may have missed something, do you have a copy? Makes me want to say the fees are illegal. At least that’s my wishful thinking.
  20. What gives them the power to create a new law? Maybe you misunderstood him, I hope. My observation is the current laws are enforced in an adhoc fashon. Usually by the easy pickins that happen in front of them. I have seen rangers parked in the camping areas and do nothing about speeders in the area. My thought at the time is usually "how can he not see that?" On a positive, I have seen them bring a tractor to an area and fill the worm tracks.
