How about a rider roundup trip?
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
Hey Terry I'm guessing your talking about Ken. he is an awesome rider and would give any of the young riders a run for sure. the buggy round up area had terrible phone signal. I know many don't care, but the people that do really need it. we can with people in MH and large toyhaulers all the time just past 6 toward 5, where the dune gets big. There is a ridge that goes out there that is firm. I have seen a MH with stacker go through there, and watched a large Alfa drive pretty close to the dune with no issue, with a pretty small trailer though. I will probly plan on leaving in the afternoon on Friday. -

The Nevada stickers to seem to take a while to get, but yeah the Cali- non resident sticker will work. -
So far this season there has not been any water, or Poop pumpers out at Dumont. Typically it isn't busy enough, and people don't stay long enough to need those services.

I am going crew cab for sure, debating on the long bed. I plan to tow a 5th wheel in a few years, so the short bed has clearance issues for the cab, and trailer. I also saw the long bed has a 37 gallon tank and the short may have only a 26. I have a 36 gallon tank in the F-150 and I LOVE it. I would buy the longer bed truck JUST to get the big tank alone. So I have to find out as I seen conflicting information on the tank/bed truck models stuff. The roads are sh*tty. Team Ford seems to be weird about letting people drive as I have been there twice and it's like they don't think I can afford it or something and try to avoid me driving it. I don't look that young still do I?? Time to try Friendly Ford I guess. I still need to drive one, and I promised my wife I would look at a Dodge before I bought.

Not yet pete, but there is a 2013 F-250 with 10k off, blue with everything I want but the center console. There is also a 2013 F-350 with everything I want, including the center console, but it's the special white color, 10k off also. I am more just shopping right now, but trying to get an idea of what it will cost to get me the truck I want. The F-150 is still doing ok, but a Diesel has always been on my list. The F-150 seems to be losing it's battle with the Toyhauler as I am running around 8500lbs for a fun weekend, and in the 9500 - 10,000lb range for a weekend we are vending. in 2015 they are changing the 6.7 engine, adding a larger Turbo, fuel pump, and different injectors. didn't see any info on power change, but it sounds good. I don't really want to run 37s, was thinking 35s which is seems I can do with a leveling kit. I have been searching trucks for a while now and many seem to have 6" lift, and I really like that look. I do want a smooth ride though as this will be my daily driver for a while.

I think I got both of my DJ gigs covered, which means I'm in. I just have to figure out one thing on logistics to move some of the equipment. I like the area, down toward 3 from 6. There is good cell signal there and there is a hard ridge for the people that don't want soft parking. -

I will have to see how things go with DJ events. I have a couple on the 8th, and if I have to do one I will most likely be out for the weekend. -
MLK weekend 2014, how was everyone's trip?
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
I think officer Wilcox was the guy I talked to during the Government shutdown. Was he in an SUV? He was really cool, and a great representative for the BLM. -
Quad With A Cage From Polaris
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to ltr450rider's topic in Side x Side Talk
It looks cool. wonder how tippy it will be. Especially with a good cage, light bar and stuff. it seems everyone wants more HP, big surprise right. still looks cool, I think it needs a Turbo -
MLK weekend 2014, how was everyone's trip?
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
It was a great weekend. had some buggy runs, some RZR runs, some quad runs. and a nice sized camp. We even had to wrap around the camp next to us as the camp grew much more then expected. The sand was very nice Friday, good on Saturday, and a little tore up sunday. The sand is dryer now so the ruts aren't so brutal like Thanksgiving. -

I am in... I know some people were talking superbowl weekend for a trip. I don't care about superbowl, and it might be a slower weekend out there which would be great for the quads. It was TORE UP as of today out there. -

If I mail over a Cashiers check for $150,000 can you send the car and the difference in cash, minus shipping costs of course. -
is anyone going to be there Friday day. I wanted to head out Thursday but no point if I'm the only one.
-
We can get 40" and 50" radius light bars. They are special order at this point, but we are getting ready to place an order. they would cost about $450 and $550.

I got new batteries in my Hauler, and some new parts on the Raptor. I am ready for a FUN weekend at the dunes. Wish I didn't have to leave early.
-
You won't see much for Vendors till Presidents. Maybe Don, the flag guy, and the normal T-shirt guy. It's no where near worth it for us to head down on general weekends. It wasn't worth it to be there for New years. In talking to several vendors, you will most likely see even less vendors.

I have to work Monday night, so I'm hoping to get out there Thursday night and get some riding in Friday. Who else will be there Friday morning? Not sure what Mike will be doing this time also, so I might be looking for a camp to join.

Gloves Jerseys and more
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to Just Mike's topic in ATV's/ Motorcycles for sale
Jerseys start at $25 and Gloves start at just $20. -
Nice racing for sure, I wasn't surprised at all about Stewart taking himself out. Dungey needs to have a fire lit under his a$$. He is always there, but waits for people too long. I was disappointed for Tomac, but I think he will come back and do well. I was surprised by Reed a little, but happy to see him run up front. I am no fan of Roczen, and While I am ok with KTM, I HATE Redbull as a company, so that was a terrible win for me. I tolerate Red bull for Dungey, but there are so many other guys to root for Dungey is falling down my list of favorites. I ended up with 22 points and in the top 3000.

Canard is a good guy. I think he has a chance for some good riding. I am still waiting for Yamaha to get some better riders. Not a fan of the Gibbs team being in there. I think they would be better off getting a team that Focuses on the Supercross/ motocross.

I forgot about Eli Tomac also, I really like him. Hope he does good. I think he will be top 10, even top 5 over the year.
