New Years Weekend BLM being very strict!
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to thatblondetess's topic in Dumont Happenings
LEO presents, to me, is welcome and needed on vendor row. Vendor row is a high traffic area where people walk and ride. I have seen plenty of riders that could be talked to about their habits on vendor row. Not to mention there is a lot of money sitting on vendor row from Items for sale, to vehicles and the LEO presents should help deter some of the thieves. This last weekend was pretty much a bust for us. The good part for us is we meet people everyday we are out there and that will help us in the future. -
Dungey should do good, but I wish he would get off the KTM and onto a Yamaha.. Villipotto will be hot, and should run away with it unless he gets hurt. Stewart is pretty much done IMO. not much of a fan of his. Roczen can go away. I don't like him, and don't think he will do well anyway. Barcia should be good, I like him. I am hoping Reid can do something this year, but don't think he will. Pete what app is the picks done on?

New Years Weekend BLM being very strict!
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to thatblondetess's topic in Dumont Happenings
I did see BLM speeding down vendor row every time they traveled down it, except when they were inspecting the vehicles parked. This KILLS vendor row even more. With the limited vendors, and less then ever willing to go out vendor row may die all together. They NEVER watered Vendor row this time. I get checking vehicles on vendor row is easy, but it really makes people not want to go there. I am willing to try for the Subgroup, but I just don't have the experience of many of the duners and especially Terry. As a business owner, and duner I would be happy to represent us. -
Some of my gorpro screen shots.

Pretty sure Mike and I are going to try and make it. Friday-Sunday most likely, but maybe Thursday

I'm a bit of a bah humbug. I hate being "forced" to buy presents for people they may not really even want. I tend to buy myself stuff, and blame it on Christmas, which seems to work well for me. I got my new goggles, and +3 Throttle body for the Raptor. I worked till 7:30pm yesterday including putting the TB on the Raptor. I spent most of the day today getting things ready to load up in my Toy Hauler for Vending. I've never really been big into decorating the house, and the kids seem to screw with stuff in our neighborhood anyway, so that would just piss me off if/when they trashed the decorations. I got all my Christmas shopping done last night between 7:30p and 9p. Luckily I just have to shop for my wife. Merry Christmas to DDR, and happy new year. See you in the Dunes.

as Long as I can still come with my quad I am good. -
The Eye of mine one can be made for about $10. Buy the mount from Guitar center and bend a piece of metal. you will need the Gopro Tripod mount that is about $8 or something. I have been using the Axia mount for a while and it's pretty cool and allows for many angles and adjustments. It's small also. http://goodtimesproducts.com/product.php?id_product=153

Here are a few shots I pulled from the first few gopro videos I went through. I am uploading a video clip to youtube now and will link it when it's done. Stopped at Talladega, first stop of the weekend. Following Terry, Tim, and Pete around. Newly getting busy in the middle of a run. Terry sitting at the bottom of Comp after a short break Terry sand blasting the random people taking photos in the dunes. Cool shot of the line, and I love my shadow. Heading back to camp, riding a wheeling Tim Pulling a wheelie during a run, Mike was in front of me. After sanding the photographers in the dunes, Terry was trying to cross over. I thought he was going over. It happens fast, and it looked crazy. The View when following mike with the Turbo and the new paddles. Mike throwing up some sand, looks like a dragon head to me. -

I had fun following the buggies for sure. I didn't even cut very many lines. The fast runs are crazy and lead to some serious fun and "pucker" moments on an ATV. being at the back of the line was nuts, since the front of the line seemed like it was about 5 minutes ahead of me and about 3 dunes over. That camp fire really got going... especially with the cardboard boxes on it. Maybe we will cut that up earlier next time. I was happy to get plenty of runs in, and the last run was great. Some of the lines were getting turned up, and the wet sand was showing it's UGLY face, but I wasn't going to slow down... I got some Video of Newly stuck at the top of Comp, but the Gopro was off when Jordan was stuck by Talladega. I had issues all weekend figuring out if I turned the camera on or off, I need a remote Gopro for sure. Luckily nobody did anything too crazy that I missed. Overall I really liked the big camp since people were going on runs at different times that I could jump in on. don't forget about me, if I'm in camp during the day, it usually means I'm waiting for a group to go lol I still had 15 gallons of fuel to burn. I didn't really get any photos, but I will see what stills I can pull from video from the people I was following. -

Mike and I should be rolling in together, and I will be in my black 2011 F150 with 23 Attitude. We don't have any GTP flags, but we do have a GTP banner I can try to get out. -

i will just be on my quad, but I am waiting for my new Billet Throttle to replace the broken stock one and a new bumper. With a few RZRs in there and maybe cutting a few corners I can keep up just fine. anything over 50mph is tough. Hopefully it's dried up a little. -
Paddles for Sport Quads

I sent you a PM. I am interested in the ATV wheels/ tires. Please get back to me. -
Maybe the State of California can pay back the money the STOLE from the OHV fund the last few times, and the BLM would have the money to fix the road better. Isn't that what the OHV fund is for?? My last trip out the road was very nice, but I have to agree a better long term solution needs to be found. spending more money now to fix the road, could/ should save money in the long run on grading and labor and stuff. They say/said the water truck has priority for watering the entrance road, but I didn't notice it.

help with paddle setup for 2012 XP please
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to desertrider71's topic in Side x Side Talk
GTP Off Road has some sets of the stagger GMZ tires in stock. check them out. 657-5991. They are a DDR site sponsor, and will work their best to take care of DDR members. -
call BLM and ask for Rusty. You have to get the permit, and have the right insurance. You have to pay for the days you want to vend. For food you have to jump through the hoops for California, but BLM can get the right info for that.
