  1. Man that is terrible, far too soon and i am so sad for the family.
  2. he really does need to get stuff out of his garage... it's a mess.
  3. mike is selling each part of his rzr one at thing at a time... lol That's cheap price, just the rears for my raptor were $300.
  4. not trying to be rude, just confused. Price is $2350 but new is $2100??
  5. Happy to hear you've been able to get things moving forward. It can sure be a struggle.
  6. hey Jack, I have a couple hours of video. I just take the highlights out. Just the run videos are boring for me. The gopro makes everything look so far away on the run videos to, especially this weekend, since i was behind.. lol we had some pretty fast runs this weekend, at least for me. It was so fun though. yeah, i put that close call with Lindsay in there and a couple other of my mistakes i had. That razor caught my front end in one spot and the wider front end had me hung up about killed the bike there. Not sure when my next trip will be. Just depends on when others go in January i guess.
  7. yeah this is a very SHORTened version of the rescue for sure. I had the initial crash at 3pm. and pretty sure we didn't get back till just before 5pm. Pretty sure Terry was hanging on the side of the hill for about half hour or so.
  8. @ Paul... we didn't have to dig that whole area out. it was like that with a dip in the lip when Greg Found it. Video is uploading to Youtube now of the rescue. and what i got of the crash. Video still of Terry trying to pull Gregg out.
  9. Thanks for letting me stay with you guys Christina... I was pretty much gone the whole day back in time to sit at the camp fire. That Turkey Dinner was REALLY good to, along with the turkey sandwich midnight snack. campfire antics are getting very interesting.. just glad I am not the guest not allowed back.
  10. Nice photos pete... I'm going to have to start getting photos from the other side of my bike since the left side has the Nevada registration sticker wrap on the front fender. Maybe it's just me, but that thing stands out. I was so happy to get some good dune time in, some great runs, and meet some more great people.
  11. It was a great weekend. I rolled in at 1am Friday night after work. I was staying with Christina and Bill. THANK YOU GUYS!!! for letting me stay with you. Got in a morning run Saturday and played with the suspension along the way. I always have to look at the video to see what happened when lol. but the camera wasn't on the first run as i had to hurry and get ready. There was a lot of following the rails and a pretty big group in there. Lots of new people for me to meet again as well. On the way back to camp we dropped over the top of comp and the sand was SUPER soft. I came up to the top, slowed, flopped over and slip to 90* to the hill. The rider behind me came up, and stopped right behind me. I looked down the hill and saw a yellow quad rolling down the hill (NOT on the wheels) with the rider sitting on the hill. Rolled down there to check it out and he was ok, and the quad just had a broken flag pole. That was it for the morning. I left camp at noon on Saturday with Chad, a dirt bike guy (i think Eric) and one other quad rider. We were cruising around for a while having a good time then i saw some people sitting at comp, so i bailed the line and went to comp. Nope, didn't know anyone. Saw Pete and the group rolling across Banshee so time to play catch up. I think this was the big line of the day with at least 4 cars, an XP and 5-6 quads. Terry joined in half way through making it a great group. i followed Lyndsay (not sure on spelling) and that girl can ride, but it was dangerous as she is on the throttle and makes you pay if you are too close... We stopped out somewhere, when pete broke the brakes on his rail. So the group kinda split up. Terry, Steve, Greg, and one other rail, Ken, one other quad, and I were together, when Greg decided to test the air bags on his car. By airbags i mean the front tires (not taking credit for airbag relation). he flopped over one razor just in time to find a witches eye just big enough for his whole car (yes I have part of it on video.) I was the rider behind him so i checked if he was ok, and he was good, but the rail was hurt. Both Tie rods pulled out of the rack and the tires were both pointed out, and it was buried pretty good. it took at least an hour of digging, 2 rails and Steve's XP to get it out. Terry tried first and was hanging on the side of a dune for a good half hour stuck with a super strap while we kept diggin. The second rail got stuck to, yes Greg's car was stuck GOOD!! A little more time, and digging and some help from an XP and we finally got the car down the hill. Steve went to go get some tools and help and we hung out for a while. Steve came back with straps, and more people, and snacks... thanks Steve!! Finally got the car moving and headed back about dusk. crash was about 3pm or so i think, so and hour and a half to remove and "fixup" the car to get out of there. I was in the dunes from noon till dark... I was happy. sunday i woke up to Pete and crew getting ready for a ride so i jumped up and got ready quick. this was at about 8:30am i guess and we got our ride in, which is where pete's photo came from that is above. we did a jump spot on this run but i wasn't feeling that one too much, and was bottoming out. We cruised around a little more, then went to comp. Christina, Bill, Aundrea, and steve came over to comp so i joined in with them, as Pete was going back to camp. We cruised for a bit and had some fun. Back to camp. Lots of people were already leaving or had left already. hang out for a bit, then lunch, and Pete's getting ready for a run. stuff the last chips in my face put on my helmet and GO.. last run of the weekend. Pete in the rail and one other rail and me as the only quad. I was able to keep up ok. Very nice last run with the wind starting to kick up though. Everyone was loading up as the wind was rolling in. I'll work on some videos this week. Overall a nice weekend of riding.. with some "interesting" campfire times. Have a little more tuning to do on the shocks i think, but rolled out with everything intact.
  12. The Bike did really good. The wide A-Arms and rear axle were noticeable with much better stability. It felt much more planted in the on the turns for sure. I did have to practice my transitions again, as the wide stance made the flow different. I almost stuffed the front in one razor and tossed myself over the bars... little more wheel and a little more throttle seemed to work. The shocks were also much better then stock. It takes going 2nd gear plus for sure to really get the feel, but in the sweeping rutted turns and crossing lines it was much nicer. I had an issue with bottoming out on some G-outs and the jump we hit today (sunday.) I needed some more ground clearance (it was set at about 8 1/4") and with the bottoming out i kept turning up the preload, then gave it a couple clicks on the high speed compression. Toward the end of the day i got the G-outs working but it felt like that made the ride rough. I guess you can't have it all. I already got an email into Elka to see if i am on the right track, and since i screwed up and set the weight 15-20lbs too low that might be part of the problems. Still need to find a jump i really like and see how that does, but that won't be till January sometime. I have to figure out how to remount my front bumper a little higher so it doesn't hang down below the skid plate and shovel sand up in my face when it bottoms.
  13. 3am... dang that's DJ hours there. I don't get done with my event till 9:30pm Friday night, then teardown, drop off gear, get home... i wouldn't roll into Dumont till like 1am. so i decided to just leave Saturday morning. I am still so bumbed about this damn event, totally screwed up my weekend. and a band plays the last half so i don't even need to stay, but they are paying me to... which isn't bad considering what i charge per hour. I am just going to have to stop by camps on the way back from runs and see what people are up to. I HOPE my phone works this weekend.
  14. It was the best way to describe the area Terry... lol So touchy... I'm not begging, I'm freeloading... lol @ Neal... I am happy to volunteer the quad. Maybe my recent mods can come in handy for something else with all the money i just spent. @Kristin... Christina posted at the top of this page that she was coming. but i can come see you to. I haven't seen Jim for a while now either.
  15. My Bag is packed, Raptor is loaded up. I am so bummed i have this gig on Friday night but it is what it is. I need to get a hauler so i can stay out there longer when this sh*t happens. Apparently i am camping in the old man section, lol the bluff by the fee station. so don't forget about me on those rides. Christina... where are you going to camp at? want to swing by and say hi, try and get in a ride.
  16. Good to hear Pete.. Sounds like it was a bit of a PITA.
  17. it took me a while to get used to the razors, but i have it down pretty good now. Terry gave me a trial by fire so i kinda had to learn quick. I still have some issues with some of the big hills, but general stuff is all good now. On the busy weekends the dunes roll over so that is very easy, but not as much fun.
  18. I plan on riding as much as i can on Sunday... and Pete (if he gets his sh*t together... lol) has said he will as well.
  19. did he stall it or something at the bottom. there was no real chance to stop coming down the hill like that. very, very bad place to stop for sure.
  20. I might try the revalve just depends on how money goes. i can try talking to the places that do it and get a good price for dual springs and a revalve. I am fine with spending the $1000 for the rear. the Elka shocks are much easier to use and there is much more of an adjustment range for compression and rebound. But, if money gets too tight and i want to get it done i can try the stocker. I am the type of guy that if i get the stocker done, i will always still want the Elka rear. lol.
  21. right now i only did the front... i am sure i need the back as it doesn't sound very good already and i think the whoops would be much better with it. i was having direct issues with the fronts bottoming out and stability so i am hoping the fronts will help along with the wider axle. I don't care much about the whoops anyway. I also hope the fronts will help the ride when the dunes get ripped up more. Maybe by next season.. for the rear. it's only another $1000. lol
  22. Thanks all. i am freaking excited for this weekend for sure. @ Jim...all the old parts are for sale. I have stock axle, A-arms, shocks and some other Misc. stuff @foxy... i'm not sure what the stock width was i think around 43 to 44" based on my math skills. i have douglas wheels that are +2" each side. and the Arms are +2.25" each side. for a total of +8.5". The full front is now is 52" with the side wall on the tires being a little fat. I put on a Tusk extended rear axle (thanks Mike) that adds 6" total to the rear. The back is just over 49" total. I am thinking about getting a different set of front wheels to make them +1" instead of +2" but i plan on a VERY good test ride this weekend to find out. I would like the front and rear to be a little closer and i dont really want to go wider in the back.
