  1. a Cali sticker will work till July 1, 2013... and after really. Escpecially if you don't ride in NV how are they going to know until you sell it. You are NOT required to get a NV title for an OHV purchased before July 1, 2012. You ARE required to get the registration sticker, but again, NV has to know you even own the OHV and/or see it riden in NV. I still think getting the NV tag is easier and a little cheaper, but NV is going to have a real tough time tracking down all OHVs owned by Nevadens. Plus are they really going to spend a bunch of time tracking people down for stickers? Now if the bike is sold in Nevada, and has never been registered before before they might figure it out, and the new owner would have to get a title, theortically, so they would have to register as well. Overall, it's just easier to get the NV stuff.
  2. I have been using weather.com, but also NOAA.gov give more specific weather.
  3. what forecast are you using?? weather.com is showing temps near or at 100* for Tecopa in the 10 day.
  4. Yes, i have an outwear on the filter, and i run no lid, with an outerwear over the top of the box.
  5. UPDATE Email i got today OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLES AB 1266 Signed by the Governor Today I am thrilled to report that today Governor Jerry Brown signed AB 1266 into law. I want to thank you all for your advice and support in getting this passed. I could not have done it without you. AB 1266 removes the language requiring passengers to be able to sit "with both feet flat on the floorboard" while restrained. This will ensure that children can continue to ride, allowing families to continue enjoying off-roading together. This bill also delays the implementation of the provision prohibiting the use of post-manufactured seats until July 1, 2013. This will give legislators time to work on a solution that would allow operators who have safely modified their vehicles to continue riding. Now that AB 1266 has been signed into law, my office will work on securing an author for a bill to resolve your remaining concerns. I will update you in the coming weeks on the progress of draft legislation as well as information about which legislators will be carrying the legislation next year. Thank you again for all of your input and support over the past two months. Sincerely, Assemblyman Paul Cook 65th Assembly District
  6. heck ya... it was fun. Riding with a few new people was good. Except for getting lost and following Jon around in the dark haveing no idea where we were. Loving my mods on the bike, power was good even at Coral, should be nice for the season at Dumont. I dented my wheel on the trip up for Jodi to go hiking.. wasn't too happy about that, but sh*t happens and it's still holding air. Found that great jump spot that Richie started on, that was fun, wish it looked bigger in the photos and video though. Mike even found a great Dune run line on Friday afternoon, man that was fun. still not used to the mess you get from all the dust up there. my bike and truck are NASTY dirty. I even had some dust in my intake this time. Maybe the K&N isn't such a good idea.
  7. DOH!! I have an HOA meeting tomorrow (Tuesday), and I am on the board, so have to go that.
  8. I think the last one was at the Brewery on rancho, Pete you didn't make that one, but a few of us were there. I had my Raptor in the bed of my truck. I am good for Tues, or Thurs this week. So what place was the spot we are going?
  9. lol, it's a rough life sleeping in till 10am, and playing music at Parties to. Some people have bad taste in music... hate it when i have to play crappy music. I almost got Michelle to get Direct so she could get Football.
  10. Nice to see you trolling DDR, Mark.. hopefully we can ride together more this season.
  11. Twin cylinder 4 stroke I am not a banshee or 2 stroke fan. I like the sound and power range the 4 strokes give.
  12. I don't own a sxs, so i am probly not the best guy to ask for real world. I have done some investigating about them and the Commander looks nice on the inside, and has more speed, but the XP is a better overall performer. I have seen them both at ridenow on Rancho.
  13. looking forward to something, one of those weekends so I will see what happens with work, and all that. I am good in the trailer if need be, but that out by the cliff is really far away from the dunes.
  14. Hey Terry, can i hang out with you??? please, please, please... I promise you don't have to give me a ride in your car, so you should be fine. I come back from the wedding thing in Hawaii on the 18th and will need a vacation from my wife after a week...lol if i don't get any work that weekend i will want to play for sure.
  15. i am hoping to go more 19th-21st weekend but not sure if anyone else is going. I might go the first part of Haloween, like Thurs-Sat??? Since i have the Holiday pass though i have to pay $10 extra for Haloween. Anyone know if you can just pay for that at the machiney things at the entrance??
  16. SXSs seems to be the future... I can't imagine paying 35k for a SXS. Since that is well into a decent sand car. I guess the SXSs are supposed to be more reliable??? but i would still rather have a car. Not much new in the quad world for a while so not much to see there anyway. waiting for a twin cylinder sport ATV.
  17. i am sure you could get a good deal on a RZR s from Steve ... be carefull buying out of state with the new Nevada registration and titles. Anything bought after July 1st, 2012 has to be titled, which means you have to pay NV taxes. I don't have high expectations for the Maverick, but you never know.
  18. the general face of comp isn't bad, except for the dips and little drops toward the top in the main race line. The far right side was really bad, picture the witchs eye that was there before x 10 or more. For some reason my go pro was off when i went to the top of comp's right side to show it, so i got no video of it. yes, the top is pushed wayyyy back toward camp area, the transitions at the top are totally different, and the far left part, where comp starts from the left, was pushed into the staging area, and it totally different.
  19. i have been very lucky on my trips out last season with friends helping me out. people can be VERY generous. I plan on using my truck bed if/when i have to for sleep. i have a bed rug in mine and a bed cover so i wouldn't even use a tent. it's good cover from wind, and the cover would help keep me warm. I really want a Hauler but it's not going to happen anytime real soon, so i have my eye on a small enclosed trailer. my problem is I don't have anywhere to store it at my house and i can't imagine paying a bunch of money to store a little 6x12 or 7x 14 size trailer. The enclosed seems like a great way to go as it's not super expensive but gives you cover, storage area, and all that.
  20. i've seen guys in tents a few times. it's not always windy out there (just when i am there usually). Try a tent that fits in the bed of your truck. or if you camp near others you can use other trucks/ trailers as wind blocks.
