  1. just talked to DMV today and they haven't even started printing the Registration stickers yet. I was told by Nancy it would be within the next week or so. Just great considering i already took the Oregon sticker off my raptor... Nancy said she would mail me a receipt showing i "have" a sticker so i will be trying that for my Oregon trip. Unless by some miracle i do get it before I leave on the 20th.
  2. If you want flat and smooth, you want to stay away from Cane beds road...(co hwy 237) I can't beleive Mike tows that way, but it is litterally a dirt road, worse then the road to Dumont x 10. It was fun just in my truck with the quad in the bed, but it's pretty nuts with a hauler. It's farther but you want to go in from kanab, and I would avoid Mt. Zion. with a hauler, very tight, slow and you will have to pay extra to get into Mt Zion, and extra to drive through the tunnel for an oversize load. and yes a hauler will be an oversize load.
  3. looks like a nice trip, sorry i missed it... guess if i'd a brought my Outlaw that would have been a good use for it with all the quad issues. Leave it to a girl to stop on a duning trip and take photos of a flower... Kinda thought it might rain, and yes i might melt... even worse my bike might get muddy. The Meadows looks very different from my last trip that's for sure.
  4. yea, the site was down last night(early this morning) but i just got an error screen from EI. I have a Dlink router as well, but i don't a screen from it.
  5. must have been my A.D.D. I did want to go out and make engine noises on the raptor though.
  6. I got this emailed to me today: Off-Highway Vehicles Update on the AB 1595 Fix I want to provide everyone with an update on the status of the AB 1595 fix. We have a limited window to get any bill passed, so I have been working closely with the Senate and Assembly Transportation Committees on language that can be passed before the legislature adjourns on August 31. I believe I have been able to reach an agreement on two provisions that will guarantee that come January you will still be able to ride with your kids while using aftermarket seats. It will also provide time for a more complete legislative fix next year. The fix will remove the provision dealing with passengers' feet being required to touch the floorboards and will delay the implementation of the restrictions on aftermarket seats until July 1, 2013. This will give everyone another 11 months to get a more thorough and permanent fix drafted and passed during the next legislative session. I expect that we will have a bill for this fix by early next week, at which point I will send out an email to all of you with the bill number. I expect this to move through the legislature extremely quickly and should be headed to the governor's desk for signature before the end of session. I want to thank the American Sand Association, the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division of California's Department of State Parks, the California Off-Road Vehicle Association, and all of the other groups and individuals who have provided assistance to my office in preparing this fix. Sincerely, Assemblyman Paul Cook 65th Assembly District
  7. That video was on the Raptor forum as well. good video... little long winded though. made it to about 7 minutes than gave up.
  8. Totally screwed that up... meant to say November, not September. I can't go till after October thanks to work and this dumb getting married thing... i could have a toyhauler
  9. i am ready, but happy to wait for cooler temps. Got my Oregon trip end of the month and that might make it worse once i get out and enjoy the new mods. I am pretty sure I am out for Coral Pink this weekend thanks to having a slow summer. i probly won't be able to hit Dumont till September myself, unless i do a weekday trip, which is highly possible. Let me know if anyone else is interested in Day tripping on weekdays in Oct.
  10. I also used to work on Motorhomes, and you can also buy a flush system that sprays water accross the tanks to help clean them. I think it's more of a maintenance thing than a fix thing. Big Block has the right fix for you, if you can't get them cleaned. It's a pretty simple fix, just have to make sure you silicone them good.
  11. i will have to wait to look a them till I get from my trip in Oregon, since I leave Vegas on the 20th.
  12. If i can't save a little money with a carpool, or get a gig coming in i won't be going. I have my Oregon trip starting the 20th and that is going to cost a lot in gas, and we are renting a house on the coast. Very Fun but expensive. 3 days of riding on the coast will be fun. I'd like to test out all the mods still since I only ran that little bit at Nellis so far. I am open to going, and i may just say F-it and go. but you better be ready to ride, and not stopping at the top of all the hills. lol...
  13. I don't think they tried to slide it through, but not a fan of any politician really. I really think they just didn't get the word out properly. Hopefully they will learn a lesson and hopefully even use some of the Forums for input. Now that they have heard from us. I did put my 2 cents in about areas getting closed down to. I forgot to say anything about the OHV funds being robbed.
  14. My truck has the Tow/haul mode, and a cooler as well. I don't use the tow haul mode much, so far just up the pass going to Dumont. My trailer is really light. The Ford instrcutions say (yes I read them) you should only use it up hills or down. and only down when you want to control the speed. I have it off coming down hill and run the MPG up as much as I can. Some day I will tow Something heavier, If not a hauler then an enclosed trailer with some ammenities in it.
  15. that is probly why they suggest certified mail. the only one that wants the originals is them, i have a copy of the BOS, and could always go back to ridenow if needed. Once I get a title i won't need an original BOS, but i think it's stupid. Especially with private sales. I figured it was a good idea to get a title on the Raptor since i own it... the bank still owns the Outlaw so waiting till it's paid off. Having a title can only help in the future.
  16. My tranny sits normally about 197*-201*. even when towing my little Echo 2 space trailer. I can't see 210* being that bad... but i don't know. I am towing to Oregon August 20th, so I will have a better idea, but my trailer only weighs about 1400lbs as is right now. big difference from a 8000lb hauler.
  17. So that should happen on Saturday?? lol... Just kidding if mike took any more gas with him to Coral he would need a tanker truck. I am still considering it, I have permission to go. If anyone would like to sponsor me for the trip. It would just be $50, and i would offer a very nice thank you in the Gopro video. well you can't blame me for trying!! if i go it would be Thursday night, ride all day Friday, coming back Friday night. If someone wants a car pool we could work that out. I have one space open on my trailer, or we could borrow a bigger one if needed.
  18. Christina... for any bikes that you don't have a title on you will need the statement of facts form. I sent in payment with the payment form. I think it's easier to pay seperately since one bike might be ok on paperwork and other might not. Make sure to send original titles, and Bill of sale paperwork to them. $48.25 per vehicle sounds right to me. I have to get the statement of Facts form notorized tomorrow, who are you having do it? I had Chase bank do my other stuff, they did it free since i have a credit card there. BofA wouldn't do it, even though i have tons of stuff through them. I also have to do the VIN for the Outlaw Tommorow.
  19. the OHV statement of Facts page, which i forgot to scan before i filled it out, has to be signed and notortized. In the form you have to explain how you got it, and why paperwork isn't available. I think they are using the notorized Statement of facts as part of the safety net to cover their a$$. They are only going to be as good as info they get, and she admitted to me on the phone that they are learning themselves how the process works. i was told before that a scanned version of the bill of sale was ok, but it's NOT. The bill of sale i have is from ridenow, so that is different then from a general private party. The OHV website has an official bill of sale form for future sales, if people use them. An older bill of sale is supposed to work, again that is the point of the OHV Statement of facts, and getting it notorized. some stolen bikes, when people actually submitted the VINs, might get caught. I still think that many people won't even register their bikes. They could still use Cali stickers, or just go with out depending on where they ride. Nevada will have to step up patrolling riding areas if they want to catch people. I have never seen anyone at Nellis/Apex, they will really need to check there.
  20. "SIGH" ok, now the BS begins. I got the paperwork back for the Outlaw, for the registration. you MUST get the vin verified and submit the VIN paperwork in along with the Registration paperwork Site for OHV information: http://nvohv.com/ To get the $20 OHV registration sticker you must get a VIN verify. I went to Ridenow on Rancho, and you must go while Service department is open. You must send in the Registration Form, and the VIN verify on each vehicle to get the OHV sticker. OHV's purchased before July 1st, 2012: Application for registration Form: http://www.dmvnv.com/pdfforms/ohv001a.pdf Vin Inspection: http://www.dmvnv.com/pdfforms/ohv002.pdf hold onto to your panties cause here is where it gets crazy... To get a title: You must get the VIN Verification, same verification will work for Registration and title You MUST send in original title, or bill of sale If you do NOT have a title from another state, you can call and ask for the "Off-Highway Vehicle Statement Of Facts" form. They will email it to you. If you have a title: Mail the original title Vin Verification Form If you do NOT have a title: Mail original bill of sale Vin Verification Form OHV Statement of Facts Form (must call to have them email it) I am going to try and scan in the one i have just in case. I think that 's it for now... I hope this helps others in the future.
  21. That is cool he took the time to look at the websites and do some research. They obviously didn't put out this bill for review to the OHV community or people would have spoken up. I just called and Timothy was on another call about this same issue. I talked to a girl that answered the phone. She mentioned they have received maybe 100 calls on this issue this week. It seems they will get the 2 issues fixed, but the helmet law will take effect January 1st, 2013 unless they can delay it. Then address the helmets later.
  22. that's pretty much the trailers I have been looking at towing with my F150. my truck has a rating of 9300, 3:73 gear, 6 speed tranny on the 5.0. I figure if i can be in the 8k range i will be ok and just take it easy on the bigger hills. My truck came with a tow package and the brake controller built in. It's the bad thing about this new 5.0, it's more of a mustang, rev motor vs a trucker torque motor I am only towing 2 sports quads at this point with no plans on anything else yet, or until i can't ride the quad anymore. I would have the same concern about fitting a 4 seater in there... seems too small of a trailer.
  23. why is it when the old farts are fighting they got to bring the young guy into it... I haven't said anything about my ride with Terry in a long time. AND, i couldn't have paid for a better ride, it was pretty damn fun, except i felt bad for the damage, till he rolled into camp with all new paint, New GPS, and new interior. Maybe he's just that good that he planned it out. hmmmm. I assume the rail didn't sell Terry, so I assume you will be ripping it up soon.
  24. steve is on a duning trip in Oregon, but did check in yesterday. just FYI to give him some time to get back to you. I don't know if he still has them or not.
  25. I knew guys that owned Line-X and was always a big fan. My F150 has a Bedrug and a tonnaeu cover. I like the bed rug since I load DJ equipment in my truck and it helps keep the gear from sliding, and it's a little softer. I did haul the bike in there once and it was fine. If i was using the truck for bikes or more outdoor type stuff i would have gone Line-X.
