  1. yeah, there are alot of load a$$ cars, bikes and whatever at dumont. especially the drag bikes are loud. it's fun as hell though.. and hot as hell right now..
  2. i think it should be changed to next week... so i can go.. Then i can get mike as well.
  3. i imagine that the remote is coded to it's specific bac-pac... hopefully. $99 sounds pretty darn good, not sure where i saw $300 but that seemed very steep and Gopro hadn't listed the price yet. The wi-fi works with both cameras but some of the features don't work on the Hero HD. i think all you can really do is record on and off with the HD. the Hero 2 does all the fancy stuff. Steve let me know on your HD. I want a Hero 2, but beggers and all...
  4. the price seems a little steep, i saw $300 for it before, and i cant get to the Gopro site right now for some reason. Definitely looks cool. would be cool if people in camp could watch a run. not enough signal for that probly though. would also be nice to turn the recording on and off easier and know what state it's in.
  5. it does seems like BS that you can't just go out and race if that is what you like. I don't like the drags so that part doesn't affect how i ride personally, but that is a huge part of what guys like to do. I guess if it is posted on a forum it is advertised.. so much BS behind it all. If you like to drag race though, you need others to race, so you have to tell people where and when.. uggg my head hurts. I guess if people were following all the other rules with lights, helmets, drugs and all then maybe that would help. There is always going to be people that give the cops attitude and always going to be guys that don't follow the other rules... thus taking me back to offroaders can be our own worst enemies. still seems like people should be able to have fun in the desert without being stalked.
  6. These day trips are usually quad runs, but rzrs have been welcome in the past, just not the cars. i am pretty open in July so I am ready for some dumont time, next time.
  7. that sucks, but if you are going to organize a drag race, advertise it, and all why wouldn't someone get the proper permits for a function? Sometimes offroaders are our own worst enemies is all i am trying to say, no disrepect to you Mike.
  8. i will be in Oregon for a grad party. that sucks. it should be cooler this weekend to.
  9. wow you got bikes already.... and are selling them already... that was fast. you just joined up saying you didn't have bikes or a truck if I remember right.
  10. face it all levels of government are broken in the united states. This is just another perfect example of the "voted" in idiots raping and pilaging as they see fit, to suit their needs. One day we will either get back to a government OF the people, or the good 'ol USA will be like rusia, the UK, Rome, and all the other dominent powers in the world, GONE. Everything is made in China or Mexico and the government just hands money over in "aide" to places like Pakistan that harbor our (former) most wanted. Maybe one day the American people will speak up loud enough, but money talks and the one guy with money out ways the thousands without. Unless the "old ways" of how we do things are changed, we don't stand a chance. The offroad community always seems to get the short end of the stick between tree huggers, and getting robbed. where are the offroad groups to go against these groups like the California Parks Foundation. I hate California, i go there to ride and run back when done. I also have Oregon tags, so they aren't stealing my money. With Nevada starting their offroad registering program the whole process will start here soon. sorry for the rant, but i do feel a little better
  11. wow that is crazy. and crazy timing for you Pete. wonder what they did with inventory? they had parts for raptors, plus riding gear, and all the other stuff. I was trying to get ahold of them because i bought my goggles there and the strap broke over the weekend. I can only find a basic receipt that doesn't show that i bought the goggles just a Dept# and the price. Hopefully i can get Oakley to fix them still. Crazy...that owner was a cool guy from what i seen.
  12. I'm not sure where Charlie was on that ride, but i do have video of him from a couple of the rides. i just haven't gone through it all yet. that video was just one that looked cool that i could be lazy any just post without edtitting.
  13. This is some unedited footage from one of our saturday rides. the later part of the video has some cool shots in it from the RZR. This is round 2. I had to reupload the video because youtube screwed with it saying it was shaky.
  14. Since my Saturday gig got cancelled i decided to go ahead and make the trip to Coral Pink. My last trip was bad, only lasting 30 minutes due to wind. This trip was a load up quickly, put the raptor in the bed this time. Went to the store to grab the last minute needs and waited for Mike and Jodi to head out. We hit the road officially a little after 7pm. We made some good time, even taking the Cane Beds (???) road. I had no idea it was so crazy, but it was fun in the F150. Once we got there the meadows was pretty full, even for a Thursday night. We got our spot, saving some room for the folks coming in Friday. We unloaded, cranked up the fire, and were up pretty late. It was fairly windy, nice repeat from my last trip. i got blamed for the wind, especially since as i was loading up the wind basically stopped. We went to the top if the hill Thursday night and found some cell reception, pretty spotty and not real good but it was there. Friday morning was our first run. It was pretty fun, then Mike had to say "do you notice the lack of power," which i hadn't yet. Once he said that though, i noticed it all the time. Lack of power and lots of time spin even with my Skat~Traks. Much different sand for sure. I like the combination of trails and dunes. reminds me of riding in Oregon Dunes. Friday evening trip was over to ranger station with Mike, Jodi and I. As we were making the run i noticed Jodi wasn't behind me, so I got Mike to come back and we looked for her. She lost momentum, and i sand blasted her when i got to the top making it so she couldn't see. She was hanging on for dear life at the top of a steep 20 - 30 dune. I grabbed the bike so she could get off, turned the bike around, and slid it to the bottom. Tried to kick start the damn thing and finally got it to start. tried to go and killed it. Fired it up again, moved 10 feet killed it. Mike had to come down, one kick and it started. tried to go again, killed it. Finally got it going again, and tried to go up the hill but before i even got there it was bogging out. I guess it was floaded or something. I looped around and it started running better. Hit the hill in second and, well, why let off... so i jumped the top stopped and gave the bike back to Jodi. I will stick to my electric start, and raptor power thank you very much. It did jump nice though. Mikes friends came in Friday night and we reset the camp a little. The whole camp area was filling in pretty good. Still windy, and i was still getting blamed. Saturday went on a few rides with Charley, Mike Jodi and I. good times. Mike and Jodi had a few mechanical issues. The RZR was running lean and mike found the boost line to the controller was off. he got the fixed and tuned it up. it was running good. First run Saturday Mike had a flat on his Raptor. Later run Jodi had her Exhaust tip come lose, Charley helped Mike fix it up with some riviets and the next run it all fell out anyway. Jodi said it was running better with out it.. lol I got video and a few photos but i need to edit them.
  15. to get a title for a vehicle sold before July 1 2012 you have to pay $35 per title. that is seperate from the $20 per year registration. The other part of that is that you have to file a form that shows you paid the sales tax when you purchased the vehicle. Now i don't know how they are going to enforce where each vehicle was purchased. It will definitely affect the people that go to Arizona, or Utah, or Ca, to buy OHV vehicles. Even for the older vehicles they are going to try and collect any unpaid Nevada sales tax.
  16. The 450 is a little lower center of gravity then a raptor. the 450 is lighter, and a little smaller. i think about 50lbs lighter or so. a 450 is faster 0 -60 then a raptor. the raptor is faster top speed, stock for stock. i ride my raptor all time and love it, i haven't riden a current 450 to compare. I do plan on upgrading the shocks on my raptor, some say the 450r shocks are better stock. if you get a 450 get the r. they have adjustable shocks, fuel injection, and a wider stance. the r will handle way better and have more power. i think either bike is great and unless you are racing, or really ride hard/fast you will either one.
  17. i am planning my Oregon trip for this summer and looking at going in August. Sand Fest is the 1-5 in Winchester Bay, and i looking to stay away from that as I want to ride, and not where it's super busy. I am considering sometime from the 6th and before the 19th with a couple days in florence and sometime in winchester after sandfest. I know a few people were talking about a trip as well and it would be cool to add some people in.
  18. I should be able to make this one... are you going to call and make reservations...
  19. damn Pete, hopefully they gave you a good deal. You were just talking about that at the dinner.
  20. man those dunes looked ripped up there. nice photo from a phon in motion though. Ok, photo 2 of mine since no one esle is really jumping in. I need to pull some stills from my videos. I don't take many photos. this was on a day trip with my Friend Jeff. Still image from the Gopro in the sand again. close to dark.
  21. i figured we can post a few pictures over the summer. but just one or 2 at a time. seemed fun, and something for people to look at. nice photo to.
  22. A photo says 1000 words? what photos tell your story from this last season. The wrecks, the drinking, the rides, the friends, the kids, the..... This is my first photo. This is with my friend Daniel from Oregon. End of Sept trip, and it was HOT. GoPro was in the sand as we jumped by.
