We have completed our first Late model superduty 40" grille kit. These start at $999 for the 40" Cree light bar, Grille, and Mounts. it's a great price considering what you can spend for JUST a grille, or what other Grille and light bar kits cost. see more on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/GTP-Off-Road/290388277739214

I do not subscribe. I have only seen a couple issues, most stuff I have seen is DDR members involvement. Not sure what would get me to subscribe at this point. GTP Off Road is growing fast and as a Sand oriented company it would make sense for us to advertise. we would look into that in the future. The more user rides and relatable rides draw the most attention. Like I stated, the info I have seen has been about DDR members. I think if I saw info articles about different riding areas, like Coral Pink, Dumont, St. Anthony's. Something someone could use as info that has never been there before would entice me. I'm always nervous to hit up new places, not knowing where to go, what fees, where to camp all that stuff.

Dumont Road used by Runners
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to Adam @ GTP Off Road's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
I do want the train horns. mike asked me why, and I said to make me feel better it may only be one day a year, but that still doesn't mean they get to take the whole area over. I paid my fee along with many others to use Dumont, and that includes Dumont Rd. It's not really a matter of who they are, or what their purpose is, it's a matter of respect the area and the people that use it, and pay yearly to use it. Not to mention I'm not a fan of any of these run events anyway, for many reasons. -
Dumont Road used by Runners
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to Adam @ GTP Off Road's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
They were way overboard in blocking the road and doing as they please for my taste. There is tons of area at the little dunes, they should have just used it and not interfered with Dumont Road Traffic. I was going to get a photo, but didn't think of it till I was about half way into the mess. -

I had so much sand and rock all over the bike. I had to wash it all off. The skid plate was still full of sand when I took it off. I carry that rope all the time, so I don't think it's bad luck to have one. -
Side x Side rollover 3/22/14 - fatality
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
The issue with the Oregon tag is just like anything other license or even a law requiring helmets... who enforces it? At Dumont there isn't anyone there most of the time to enforce things. Should a new user be educated, HELL YEAH. like everything there isn't a perfect answer though. I have the Oregon card also, but in 3 years, have never been asked for it, or asked about it. It was very repetitive and focused a lot on educating parents about their kids. Which is great, except I have not kids so most of it wasn't relevant at all. It also had to do with water crossings and use of BLM farm land type stuff that is leased. Good info that I didn't know, but will never use. It's a wonder who these folks were, by the info it sounds like they really had no idea where they were, and how the dunes are. It sucks this happened like this, for no good reason. -
So after my bike blew up Saturday morning I loaded up and left about 10am. On my way out of the dunes, the people running and the putting on the run were all over the place for the last 1/4 - 1/2 mile of the road. they were parked on both sides, turning around in the middle of the road and walking down the middle of the road. After rebuilding my bike and it lasting all of 5 minutes this was something that I really wasn't happy about. I told 2 of the people putting on the event that there was NO PARKING on Dumont Road. They just said it's ok as long as they don't block, so I stated again, all the signs posted NO PARKING. I have no idea why they have the need to use Dumont Road for this, and while the road wasn't blocked, it was pretty tight with just my truck and smaller trailer. With the people walking all over, the road was basically blocked. With people turning around in the road, many will leave ruts in the road that won't get fixed till who knows when Since BLM won't and doesn't maintain the road properly as it is. This group should have been charged for the road to be re-graded if they weren't. Our fees pay to maintain this road, and it's poorly maintained in general already. my drive back was only wasn't impeded much by the runners as I guess I left early enough. Rant over...

Side x Side rollover 3/22/14 - fatality

Some people are safe about it... slow and steady, a little scared about it you know. Others just don't get it, and some don't know to be scared. You'd think that BLM would put some info on the dunes, and having a Volunteer camp monitor(s) to help educate newbies could be helpful for the people that chose use it. -

That is such a sad thing to have happen for people that must be new to the dunes. That is a HUGE impact for the cage for sure, with all that weight. I believe in helmets, especially for SxS, even though many users don't. It doesn't sound like helmets would have really helped in this case, as the impact and cage damage would lead to the neck and back issues. Condolences to the family and friends. -

Got there Friday night, did a heat cycle run on the bike. Hung out with Doug till bed time. It was pretty busy out there for sure. Went on a morning ride today.... Saturday, and the bike said NOPE... Towed the bike back to the truck before 10am and headed home.... Turns out the head builder didn't tighten the Decompression assembly thinking I was going to remove it to install the cam sprocket... which I don't. So, the cam chain broke and all the valves hit the piston. Piston is ok, only one valve was visibly bent but yeah, changing all 4. Think I got most of the parts out of the case. Head builder is paying for the parts needed to buy and sending me valves from his shop. The New truck has plenty of power but the trailer was being all twitchy and unstable. On the way back I unhooked the weight bars and that seemed to help quite a bit. Coming back down Potesy it was windy so that didn't help. Little disappointed in the fuel mileage as I only got a 8.1 and the F150 would do 8.2 - 8.5. I guess that's what I get for 35s and a lift though. -

minimum age requirement to operate a side x side?
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to dunefreak's topic in Side x Side Talk
i seen kids driving plenty of SxS down Vendor row. Even over New Year's when they were being strict and I didn't see anyone being harassed about it. It's a good question. Of Course it was a full grown adult dude that drove RIGHT into and over a 22' flag pole we had in front of our spot. Not sure why they were even trying to go forward into our vending area, but maybe he should have had a kid driving cause he couldn't see.. lol -
that spare quad won't keep up and it's just not as fun as the Raptor. i have work, the Raptor, and some other things to do this weekend so I'm pretty much out. Hoping to get something in the next couple weeks, or a trip to Amargosa. I never thought it would take a month to get the raptor all done.

March 11th Sub-Group meeting Barstow
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to ynot's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
well due to work I can't make this one either (DJ gigs don't change times/ days) Terry, thanks for taking the time to do these. I think my main concern right now is the entrance road, and getting it prepped BEFORE the early birds and vendors show up for holidays. Looks like Halloween is a Friday this time, so hopefully they will get that right this year. -
I may be out, the guy that is doing the port work still hasn't even done it, and he's on the East coast. Might not get the bike back together in time.
