Dexter EZ Flex Shackels Install with Pictures!
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to bp-guy's topic in Toyhauler/ RV Talk
damn, I really want to do this. I forgot about it though with everything else going on. I measured my shackles and they had a page that showed which ones to get somewhere, maybe on the manufacturers page. -
depending on the location, and if my cell booster doesn't work, I may elect to camp where I can get better cell signal.

Sorry, we have since signed up to be a Skat~trak dealer and I have ordered a new 9 paddle set to go with my mods. GLWTS -
Pretty sure I am in. all the parts for the Raptor should be in at least by Monday or Tuesday of next week. Mike should be in also.

It's getting warm. How many trips do you have left?
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
As many as possible.... Then it will be off to Amargosa, and even better Coral Pink. Really looking forward to Coral Pink again. The plan was for me to go to Glamis, since I haven't been I was pushing to make that happen. I'm not sure on the group though, and how that will play out. I am also not sure if the Raptor will be ready, and I don't want to just throw it together then drive to Glamis not knowing. All that being said, I think the 14th-15th will be my next trip. -
So happy to see the BLM is hearing us. The 15th is the weekend I am supposed to be in Glamis, but we will see what happens. The Raptor may, or may not be back together by then.

There are many people out there that just don't like duners, offroaders, or anyone that wants to have fun in a way they don't like. I have seen comments from people on other sites that are just plain ignorant, and intolerant. It seems to be the way people in the USA are these days. If the management won't listen it's tough, and I know other ways haven't worked either. Hopefully Dumont can survive during this time, as the management will change again at some point. I did notice a change, for the positive, on vendor row over Presidents weekend. I'll take it, and hope for more in the future. It's easy to ignore one, two, five... pleasant people asking you to do something you don't want to. Someone coming in being an a$$ destroys 50 people trying to be pleasant and helpful. It's much harder to ignore 20, 30, 50 people asking for change. It may not be an easy road to get things done, but for a long time it's been just one, two, or a handful of people getting things done and it's worked, now more people are needed.

typically it takes things to get the an extreme level before anything is done. Many offroaders don't want to and/or don't have the time to go to meetings and let their feelings be known. As well as many off roaders are their own worst enemy. One person, no matter how great they are doing is only one voice. To make a difference we have to stand together, and that means not with 100 different things, but to get the basics of service that we pay for as users of Dumont.

I think I might be able to do the 8th-9th. That next weekend is supposed to be Glamis, so I guess I will just have to do 2 weeks in a row. rough but I think I can handle it... lol

President's Day 2014 pics and reports
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
I think the message got out for Law enforcement to let people come to vendor row. While I did see some people that needed some law enforcement help to cure their stupidity, I didn't see any hard patrol of the people on Vendor row. We do appreciate that. I did go to the BLM station on Saturday to get Vendor row watered down, and within 15 minutes, in came the truck... I appreciate that VERY much. We were down wind and the dust was NUTS. they came through one other time, with out us asking and watered Saturday, and I think I saw them come down Sunday also. The days kind of run together when vending. The BLM and Sherriff staff I talked to at the BLM station were very pleasant and helpful. -
I figured I would have Newly do any work. Gauges will be a must. I figure Tuner, intake exhaust is all I want to do. Installing the lift and air bags shouldn't be an issue for me (us). I'm only towing 8500-9500k now, bumper pull. and I figure I will go to a nice 32' or 34' ish 5th wheel. I'm not overly stuck on Ford, and I would love the cummins. My wife also loves the dodge, so I do plan on looking at them. I had a dodge before, and it was kind of a piece of crap.
-
Thanks Terry, I will for sure. I want to look at the Dodge, but not thinking I will get one. pretty much is going to be a Ford. I know the Truck I want, and I am ready to buy yesterday, but it's a ton of money. Thanks Bigborevegas. I think I just want 35". can't go too tall, want to tow a 5th wheel. thinking 20" at least to keep sidewall thinner. I think the 4" will work, 6" seems too tall and 37" was recommended and just don't want that big. I just want a little more "offroad" look. I'll drive mostly street, tow bumper now with 5th wheel later, in the 12k range at most I think. I won't be doing any offroading other then towing to Dumont, glamis, Coral Pink. I need a place to buy all the parts for sure. I was looking at a couple trucks and the local dealer was willing to finance in the cost of the lift, this is why I have been asking about it. Plus needed some knowledge of costs before dumping a TON into a new truck.
-
the 17" would work on tabs but they would have to be in the right spot. If that gap is 10" we don't have anything in house to fit that, and would have to dig around to see what we could get.
-
we have a 9" and a 17" mirror, Axia Alloys, very nice billet black. We have them instock and will have that at Dumont at our vending spot. we only have 2 of each I think left and they should sell out. $120 for the 9" $185 for the 17"

Rider Roundup trip report Feb 7-9, 2014
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to Adam @ GTP Off Road's topic in Dumont Happenings
Nice job getting a ticket Craig. The BLM was sitting at the exit checking people. I just waved my pass and they gave me a thank you on their PA speaker. Surprised to see them out there. Too bad they didn't grade the road. I got a ton of video and the Nerf bar locations seemed to work pretty good making for a nice angle. I'll try to go through all that soon. -
What a great trip. Weather was very nice with just enough wind to help smooth the dunes. Should be VERY nice out there for the beginning of next weekend.

looking for Paddles
Adam @ GTP Off Road replied to 04 YFZ 450's topic in ATV's/ Motorcycles for sale
I have some Skat trak extreme 20x10x10 that are in decent shape. They are on my raptor 7 paddle. I added more power and need more paddle. I can take the tires off. -
The full kit is 5700 plus install. This kit is AWESOME, very complete from the turbo, to waste gate, to pipes, fittings, even wire and connectors. K&T is top notch stuff.
-
This kit is AWESOME. K&T does a great job of including all the little things as well as many other things that are really a must have.

That toyhauler has a FIRE PLACE... that's Awesome... GLWTS

Not sure what you mean, it says 5... lol technically it would be toward 3 from 6, but getting a Moho between the two would be pretty though.
