What helmets are legal to use for small children
DuNe~Rydher replied to Kingcar64's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
They are not. DOT approved only. With that said, you're right. Most helmets if not all of of the legit ones are to heavy for babies necks. I found a very light bicycle type helmet but it looked like a motocross helmet my daughter wore. Looked legit and worked. Rangers never looked twice, and she was safe. -
weather seems to be changing every 5 minutes. As of right now though, it's looking a little warm! That's why these things come with AC right?

awesome, and you're welcome.

What year make and model truck and are the rails specific to your truck or are they universal? May know somone that would be willing to do it for a fraction of the cost, or I can.

I like It a lot Pete. It's pretty rare I use my laptop to log on anymore so I'm loving how mobile friendly the site is now. easy to see unread content, post pics, leave live reports, awesome. Don't need tapatalk anymore.

I was out there today with a couple others for a little test and tune ride before halloween. Dunes were smooth (as expected) and a blast to ride before they get rutted up. Saw you guys on a good little run and almost jumped in behind. How'd you like the Maverick compared to the Ace?

I just picked up a set of "premium" energizer GC2's from sams club as well. They have 2 versions, one just has more amp hours than the other. You can barrow my sams club card if you want Pete. Sent from the dune in front of you

Landsandcrab, if you can, I'd wait til next year. Polaris will be forced to step up more than just HP to compete with the new Can Am X3. Can Am will be in year 2 of the X3, and will have whatever bug arise this year worked out. Arctic Cat is said to be releasing something all new as well...Not to mention Yamaha is still up and coming. In a nutshell, competition in the SXS market is bigger than ever and should make next year very interesting! Sent from the dune in front of you -

planning on a morning/day trip that same Saturday or Sunday dependent on the weather, little shake down run. First camping trip will be halloween. I get to go test the new X3 Saturday Oct 1st! I bet that Ace had its moments, but you're going to have a blast in your new ride. Sent from the dune in front of you -
Re pack wheel bearings on toy hauler/trailer if it's that time. Check/adjust trailer brakes Ops check that A/C it can still be pretty warm at halloween. Furnace/heater while your at it. go buy a seat belt cutter or 2 and have it within reach. You could save your own life or somone else's. Sent from the dune in front of you

Taking the new toy hauler up to Utah to break her in, hit a few trails, but most of all.....kick my feet up around the camp fire and relax with some good company and a few cold ones. 65 during the day and mid 30's at night, it's going to feel amazing. Then.....dune season. Sent from the dune in front of you

if you have the mindset of buying a car for 100% sand use only with a 30k budget I agree, why would you buy this or any sxs. But if you have that same 30k budget and love to go blast the trails in Utah or Northern AZ in the summer, and shred dumont in the winter with your wife and little ones with you..then a 150hp sxs with 24" of travel ect. is a great option. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but they sure are fun for the family. And honestly if you know how to drive, and maintain your clutch, CVT's aren't bad. I've blown one belt and changed it in 10 min in the middle of the dunes and kept riding. pretty sure we all know somone who has had to load up their rail on day one because they lost their tranny... By no means am I advocating for one or the other...I'd love to have both. Just saying I think SXS's like this new x3 have their niche, one car to take the family anywhere, and fast enough to dune with the best of em. Sent from the dune in front of you
