Good write up....the weather was perfect Saturday(during the day) and Sunday, too bad I couldn't enjoy it a little more. I'm not a fan of duning a banshee, got spoiled with my yfz. Got my head back today and everything installed, my carb should be here Weds or Thursday and I'll get it broke in this weekend hopefully without any issues. Heading to Afghanistan in April now so I need to get all the riding in that I can since my season will be done the last week of March. Pretty sweet pictures Mike!

Its extra drag depending if your calipers are depressed or not so the brake doesnt drag and some people will use a different chain to make their numbers look good. I want it just like I ride it. For the most part anyway. Some care some dont. I put that on there

torque is normally in that range for non worked yfz 450 motors i believe. I thought it was a tad low but i'm getting my motor/carb work done and it should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 52hp and 33 on torque so we'll see. my head is getting ported and the carb is being bored out to 42.5 and i'm going up to 13:75:1 compression stock stroke stock bore. EDIT: will stick with 12:75:1 piston, hp expected in the low 50's

Well once Steve got there they let me go back there....disregard previous post. This was a run with stock gearing x-ring chain, rear brake caliper installed, FCI, Cammod, Full Jardine RT99

I've read Carters is a nightmare to get this stuff done before. Ridenow over on Craig is REALLY easy. -

Since the PoPo seems to be a little worse than people are used to, wonder how the FSA race will go on the 16th of March. Evidently they had quite a few issues at Glamis this past weekend. -
FMF Titanium Factory 4.1 Slip-on for sale
flavtfan replied to flavtfan's topic in ATV's/ Motorcycles for sale
SOLD!! -
I have for sale an FMF Factory 4.1 slip on exhaust that came off of a 2007 YFZ 450. This exhaust has under 10 hrs of use and is free of any dings or dents, practically looks brand new. Its just sitting in my spare parts box collecting dust and will never be used. I think this will only fit 07's and up, but if you have an older yfz I have my stock midpipe and header pipe(minus the heat shield) that I can add to it for an additional 40.00 and that will give you a good full system for 06 and older YFZ's. I think this is more of a low end to mid range pipe, sounds great. Comes with spark arrestor and mounting hardware. Asking 150.00 for the slip on.

Yeah I was thinking of quad central 1 and 2....didn't know if atv cycle existed prior since i've only lived here a short time.

I had heard rumblings that he was closing...didn't know he actually did it though. Thanks for the heads up.

I get quite a few parts and stuff from ATV cycle because they hook me up with stuff quite a bit for free and discounted prices. They will often price match for me since we go in there quite a bit too....sketchy on getting work done though due to what i've heard but i try to do most things on my own. From what I've been told by pike is if someone comes in and needs a part right away for a dune trip, race, or something like that and they do not have it in stock but they have a bike in there that has the part they need then they will take that part and order a new part to replace it. They contact the owner first though. My buddy had this experience with a set of offset black label wheels. They had a set of someones black labels that they weren't able to use due to their bike being down, they called them up and asked, then my buddy received the wheels and the other guy got a new set. The person getting used part will still pay what the price of the new part would be. They said usually it isn't major parts but the little stuff that can ruin a weekend that they normally don't have in stock. From what I've heard they've cleaned their act up quite a bit the last few yrs since becoming ATV Cycle Sports from what was going on in the earlier days. I haven't had any issues with them yet, that said....i haven't had any engine work or anything like that done either. They are very convenient to where I live. i'm definitely getting the dyno run done though. do you have to set something up with pure evil in advance? probably doing it next weekend so i can tear down and get the parts off to the porter
-
Has anyone ever used ATV Cycle Sports dyno before? I'm wanting to get mine on the dyno prior to sending my carb and head off for porting. This way I will get some base numbers. They said they could do 3 runs for 85 dollars with the sniffer. It would be more if I wanted to jet it, which I won't considering I'm taking it down and will be jetting when my head and carb are done. I know Pure Evil is good but ATV Cycle is closer to me.

Good to meet you all too Mike! It may not have been a fast night ride for you guys, but it was pretty fast for me being only my second time night riding. Itching to go back already....here soon I'm tearing down my topend for a port job along with my carb so I'll be out of commission for a couple weeks....probably sending it off in Feb.
-
Good write up Adam. We had a great time riding with you guys and hope we can get more rides in the future. It's nice to meet good people. We got up a bit earlier today and looked over to Mike and Jodi's hauler but by the time we got all our stuff ready they were gone. So I put my 20X10X10's back on and we made a short run through the bowls behind comp. There was some pretty good sand today from all the wind they had last night. We went over comp, made a couple runs up comp, then headed over to banshee to see if I could tell a difference from the 21's. Other than starting in second from a dead stop, It was pretty much neck and neck on speed...though I think the 21's pulled harder through the top and they were A LOT softer over the ruts and bumps so I'll probably stick with the 21's, especially since im getting a port soon. My stabilizer was worth every penny!!!! Travis richened up his raptor a little to get rid of the pop...he still has a little but he thinks it was better. He's gonna get the autotune I think. After that I put my dirt tires on and made a short run through sperry wash, we came back and I drove the finger to Mike and Jodi's to let them know we were leaving and to thank them for the drinks but they still weren't back yet from their ride. We were gonna head over there last night but figured they might want some alone time haha. All in all, even with all the issues getting there, it's always worth it and can't wait to go back!! Glad everyone was safe this weekend, sometimes I just don't know what goes through peoples heads out there.

2005 Carson Titan Toy Hauler
flavtfan replied to Shake and Bake Motorsports's topic in RV's / Trailers for sale
man, i wish this would still be available in october when i get back from my deployment, i'm looking to buy one when i get back and this is just about what i'm looking for. looks nice, i'm sure at that price you won't have much of an issue. -
Yep tight hairpins on that road in one section...other than that you still get some of the incline back up to blue diamond pass even going the tecopa route on the way back from dumont....there is a dump for RVs in tecopa though I think, so that is nice.....I will say on my last trip I saw a huge bus RV with 17 ft trailer hauling a$$ on the tecopa route
-
you really cannot avoid that huge hill coming back other than maybe going 15 south through baker and coming in that way that i'm aware of. we take tecopa and there are a couple tricky parts to it.

blew a lot today too Friday morning run should be nice
