Put your sand tires on at home. You don't want to be messing with tires at the dunes while everybody takes off to go for a ride and it starts getting hot.

I actually have had good luck with RC Trans. I guess as with everything sometimes you just can't get it right from anybody.

There is so much stuff I cannot even start to list it, but there is a adjustable bed frame which Raises and lowers head & legs,Queen size mattress, several queen size bed spreads and lots of kitchen items if you need to re-stock or stock the hauler. Including a pizzzzzzzzzzza maker,. Lot's of holiday decorations, dining room table and 4 chairs with a buffet, sleeper couch and matching chair, trundle bed, dresser with mirror and matching nightstands and more stuff than you can imagine It is going to take my brother and I -4 days to get this stuff laid out just to tell you how much stuff there is. If your into yard type sales I am giving DDR members first shot at this stuff on Thursday evening. If you want to come by the address is 201 W. Cypress dr. 89015 My mother was a semi hoarder of unique kitchen items. Some of the kitchen stuff she has hasn't even been used or the box opened. If you want to come by and just shoot the sh*t and have a beer that's fine just bring your own beer! Terry

That's a work of art!

That's why I like the strongback chairs, they are a solid back so it keeps the wind off and they fold into a bag with backstraps if your to drunk to carry it back cause you need your hands to stabilize you:)

I am getting out of the race fuel side of the sand toys so I have 2 full 55 gallon barrels for sale. Bought at $9.20 per gallon plus barrel charge in 12/13. Looking for $8.00 per gallon no core charge. One barrel is still sealed and the other has been opened but kept in the shade and is full. This fuel is running over $10.00 per gallon now so your gonna get a deal. Fuel stored in barrels and sealed out of the sun keep for up to 3 years so no fear of this being "old" fuel. It isn't and I would run it in my car if i was staying with a motor that required it. If you take both barrels I will give a discount.

http://www.strongbackchair.com/ A little bit pricey but once you own one you won't allow anyone else to sit in your chair. Very comfortable and support your back really well. No table but has a good drink holder!

How is the condition of the cane beds road?
ynot replied to dunefreak's topic in Coral Pink Sand Dunes
What's 40 minutes has always been my question? \The dunes will be there, no road stress from sh*tty dirt roads and holes to sink your trailer along with the occasional cow standing in the wrong place. I always went through Kanab stopped at the Mexican restaurant for a late dinner and to buy some of their great salsa and away to the meadows from there. I gave up on beating the sh*t out of my equipment and stress of the cane bed years ago. My 2 cents worth, have fun!! -
Nominations for Dumont Dunes Sub-Group
ynot replied to ynot's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
Bob, I would not know if anybody else is applying for the position(s). I am waiting on a letter of recommendation from another source and then I will be putting in my application. Pete is right about it being an issue with the meetings on Tuesday's, makes it hard for folks with regular jobs to do this kind of thing. Pete thanks for the props they mean a lot to me. Adam, the only way to learn more and get involved is to make the step and test the waters. If it is something you are interested in then you have to do what I did several years ago and that is to throw your name into the ring. It's a learn as you go proposition:). Terry -
http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/info/newsroom/2013/may/dumontsubgroupmembers.html Anyone wanting to request that they be appointed to the Dumont Sub-Group must fill out a request and forward it to Barstow BLM. There are 9 positions available. Anyone interested in assisting BLM should complete this request and submit it as soon as possible

Parson's auto body in Boulder city.

The law concerning helmets is in effect however the rear seat law is suspended until 7-1-13. None of the SXS rules apply to the sand cars as long as they have 1000 cc's of engine or more. Mufflers and spark arrestors are not a issue at Dumont and definetly there are no noise restrictions

It's Offical. Got a summer gig @ Idaho Dunes RV, St. Anthony
ynot replied to sandawg's topic in General Chat
HMMMM, well I guess this changes my plans. I talked to Garret and he has baseball until August so I figured if I went it would be a solo trip. Maybe we could get a few peeps and make it a "guy" trip and bring just enough rigs for sleeping and then just ebough trucks for pulling flatbeds with toy's? I would like to go in the first part of June. I would be glad to take my rig which can sleep 4. Anybody interested in putting a trip together? -
Great deal for you Bert Truck is going to be well cared for and I am sure you will enjoy it. Of course you could have had a really nice motor Home for a few dollars more but well who could turn that deal sown. Best of luck and congratulations!!

Most guys do tow 40' TH 's with 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks. They have plenty of power but it's the stopping in an emergency that always scared the hell out of me. Most if you can get them to tell you the real truth are or should be concerned about stopping that thing when someone pulls out in front of them. My point is can you explain it to a jury in a civil trial? If I can't or don't feel I can then it's not enough truck. When I had my 40' TH I moved up from an F350 to a F60 Freightliner. It wouldn't go up the hills as fast but I had no more white knuckle descents either. I guess the same thing can be said for a MH as to stopping but at least my M/H out weighs what I am towing.
-
I have had both and currently have a 40' M/H with a 30' trailer. i prefer the M/H over the 40' fifth wheel for a coupe of reasons. First of all the big fifth wheels are just to much weight for a standard 1 ton truck. The M/H handles the weight and stopping power without any real concerns. If the weather is crap when you pull in you drop the jacks, put the slides out and have a cold beverage. Downside is yes it is more maintenance but unless you have a smaller vehicle to do your everyday driving you put the miles and time on your pull vehicle which all kind of evens out in my opinion. I have thought about going to a different rig but just can't give up the perks the M/H has. Plus I like not having to change the tires on the car to get it in the toy hauler and my tools and other stuff has it's place in cabinets out of sight and not taking up space in the garage portion of the 5vr. Now it seems like most toy haulers have "Garages" instead of being a open floor plan which makes it harder to get your stuff to the dunes. Another nice thing about the M/H is that if your travelling to another dune area or anywhere for that matter you don't have to unload to use the coach overnight in a campground or wally world parking lot.

Maybe he is from Oklahoma, that's how they ride the dunes at Little Sahara in Wynoka. They cruise up to the top and flop over, scared the hell out of us when we saw it in 2001. They had never seen a bunch of guys on quads cutting lines through the dunes. It actually made them stop and watch and have a spit:)

What companies still make toyhaulers with lots of cargo?

I have learned Pete that sometimes you just can have it all you just can't take it all with you!!
