I'm in course you knew that already?

Should be, it was flowing pretty good a cpl weeks ago. I doubt it has dryed up that fast. It's very high in alkaline so it can be a little smelly but kids usually don't care!

Not me, Pete! I am keeping the red monster! Can't afford to sell it and can't afford to keep it! So I am gonna drive the hell out of it, care tto join me?

Thanks for volunteering! If you could be over at the clean up site before 8, say around 7:30 and ask for Vicki. She will get you set up and ready to help with the sign in's. Most people kind of meander in all morning. There is no starting gun and it is very mellow. Then about 11:30 everybody will meet at the clean up spot for a picture and count the tickets that each person has collected. Then Pete or his designee can proclaim the number to Vicki while we get the raffle started after lunch. It all flows together pretty well and is a lot of fun. We appreciate the help and support!

I would imagine that 10 would lock up the trailer brakes at the very touch of the pedal. The way to set them is go down the street about 25 mph and then use the brake control lever and see if the brakes lock, if they do there to high, if they don't do enough turn it up a little. I use my trailer brakes to augment the pull vehicle. Mine is set at about 2 for the flat bed and 3.0 with the stacker. But I do test them every time as I am heading down my street.

I think the point that was trying to be made is that in all fairness and so FoDD will not have to listen about anyone bitchen is that we have to regulate the tickets. How would you feel if the tables were turned? This is a small $5.00 trophy meant to envoke competition. It's a fun prize and for the last 4 years we have had not one disagreement nor dismay about how the tickets were handed out. Since I would have to listen to the bitchen I am suggesting that the tickets will be issued upon bringing the bags to the dumpster. Has worked for the last 4 and will probably work for the next 10 or so! I appreciate the effort you guys are planning and are hoping that come Sat. morning that you will volunteer at the sign up table to make sure it flows smoothly. That would certainly be appreciated by us and the folks that come out to help. One last thing it's gonna be hot, so if you have an ez up bring it, hats and sunscreen also. The ez up's will come in handy at the raffle drawing! I would bring a chair also, it can get a little long but we try to move things along as fast as we can. Anybody have a quiet type generator like a Honda or yamaha we can use to power the sound system? :icon_twisted:

Only thing I ever heard was that they were tuff to dune as you can't see the ground for the fenders. That's a nice looking car though!

The first year I was out there for the clean up everybody in my camp threw the trash bags in the back of my truck and I turned them in and then split the tickets up. They all won prizes cept me! The easiest way and not to get to techanical here is that the more people collecting instead of keeping track of bags etc. the more trash get's picked up. I agree with Pete that if you just have someone either keep track at the dumpster or as the clean up portion ends all the DDR people get together and count all the raffle tickets they have. That will give you a simple way of doing this and a good chance of winning both the trophy's and raffle prizes.

5th annual FoDD Dumont Dunes clean-up & 2nd annual DDR Dune Trip
ynot replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
Yes Steve sent in a DVD to AYL when I announced that I was looking for some tape to use. My "interview" was taken with the wind gusting on a Sunday at about 30 mph. We went on the side of a trailer and just shot it. I am not going to be a tv star any time soon. The show airs this Wed. At 8:30 I believe on ch. 19 in Vegas. -

Here's a link to the clip for At Your Leisure TV spot for the clean up. They have the city listed as Barstow which I have already e mailed them about but they did a pretty good job given what they were given to work with! http://www.atyourleisure.info/episodes.asp...&category=6 -

No problem, An Adgenda is a loose outline of what the topics for discussion will be. There will be plenty of chances for the duning community to give input. There are no timelines on how long we will be on any one topic. They need your input because although "they" represent several other organizations that use the area. IE: Film makers, The county of San Bernadino, Death Valley and OHV users that are not neccessarly Duners. All types of use go on in that area and they are all represented on the board. So the lady from the film industry may not understand your exact problem but wants to keep the area open for her organization. We work together very well to keep the area up and running and advise BLM on what we would like to see happen. The TRT was organized by the BLM through notices for interested parties to come forward and be selected to be a member of the TRT. Members must agree to serve a 3 year term. The current TRT has been in effect for I believe 14 months. The duning community has a lot of input in these meetings both by being there and by letting your OHV representitve know what your issues are. I am the Nevada OHV rep and believe me I keep tabs on what the issues appear to be on this board and others along with a lot of conversations with other duners. If you need any other info please feel free to contact me. Terry

The meeting will continue thru lunch so they decide at the beginning of the meeting what they want sandwich or pizza, so if you want to eat while the meeting continues please bring some $ with you. It usually runs about 8 bucks. We have not had much public attendance at the meetings in the past but I am sure that if you have a specific point you can be heard. If you want to rant this is not the place for it. The people on the TRT are professional and most have been involved in public use of land for many years. They are a diverse group and are ALL on our side. Their are no enviromentlists on this board. We do not want to show anything but the concern we have for keeping our public lands open and at a reasonable cost to the users. I am enclosing the adgenda for the meeting. I am very sorry that I cannot attend in person but will be there via phone during the first couple of hours. Family commitments keep me from attending in person. Agenda for March 6, 2007 Barstow Field Office 10:00 am. If you have received donations from shops, people etc other than cash i need to know about it right away. Please e mail me the name of the company, name of the contact person and the prize(s). It is important that we keep a list so everybody gets thanked after the terip. The day of the clean-up we are so busy things will get lost/mixed up and I don't want that to happen. We try to run a very organized event and I need your help to do so. So please if you have hit up your favorite shop and received something let me know, it also keeps me from making a pest out of myself with the dealers. Thanks, Terry

You will see ridges and vaslleys once your up on the flats, STAY out of the valleys. Find a ridge and stay on it. They run to the left of the road on the flats. I like the area around #9 restroom.

So let me understand this. You don't have the common decency to return a call in regards to FoDD because it comes from me? Maybe I should have Vicki contact you if you have such a personal "issue" with me? Seems funny that at the SSSS you were more than happy to talk to me to introduce some custom car guy to me but you can't return a phone call now? I don't believe that there should be bad blood between us but if that's your thing so it is. I still believe that a good portion of your business stems from Dumont Dunes and for that reason you should support the organization that is working to keep it open and safe. Maybe you feel differently but I believe that it should be on an open forum for everyone to see. If you would like me to have Vicki contact you all you have to do is let me know. And Travis you should learn to lighten up! i am to old to have issues.

So does that mean that you want to donate to the FoDD clean up again this year? I have stopped by 3 times tosee if you wanted to get your name on the t-shirts and maybe donate a raffle prize. I know your busy so I will ask the question here. Let me know?
