Was a great weekend! The sperry wash trail was very interesting espically the rocks hanging on the sides of hills waiting for the next little bit of rain and wash away the little spec of dirt that is holding it there. Off weekends are the best ! Observations; Dunemonkie likes Chicken sandwiches in the middle of the trail along with some dust to wash it down with! Pete refuses to go on camera to be a TV star Rhino's are a hell of a lot of fun! Walter's choice of deserts for a skinny guy is amazing! I had to eat half of a sandwich just to justify 2 deserts around the fire. Happy Birthday Don! Following a ranger that has a flat tire SUCKS! Amazing how much dust a flat throws up!! My dog loves riding in the Rhino! :mc_smiley: :mc_smiley: :mc_smiley:

If your open to looking at other RV's I have a STRONG hook up at Findley RV and Johnny Walkers if you are interested. PM me for the names of the managers you need to talk to. They will both do you a very great deal. No headaches.

Call Jose @ sunshine mobile wash 702 250-8103 and have him spiff it up then keep it clean from then on and it will be ok. They do make black streak remover that is sold at camping world and RV stores. Only thing is that it seems to take the wax off also. Then you end up calliung Jose to wax it so that's my 2 cents worth on that!

I think that if you think about the #'s you would see that paving 5-7 miles of road in the middle of nowhere would be a ittle more money than our current demo fee would handle. Consider this, 1 mile of freeway costs $1,000,000.00 and it's in town. So if you had to haul all the materials, drive time etc it would easy be a 10million dollar job. So that ain't happening! Next the funds are being put to use by paying law enforcement and medical to be on duty espically during big weekends. It also pays for the volunteers who are the only contact between someone needing help and BLM/EMT during off weekends or weekdays. There are also plans and money put away to widen the concrete across the river this spring and at some point we want to widen the road to be 3 lanes wide. Plans also exist for a helipad and information station in the future. Because of the location it costs a lot to bring everything and everyone out and feed, house and transport BLM and LEO's. And just for the record the 12 bathrooms were not paid for by fee demo money they were installed before fee demo started. We do however pay to have them pumped and maintained. So now that you have a little more information i hope that you see that we are trying our best to manage a remote area that is growing in usage by leaps and bounds. thanks for listening!

I will have some with me for Sat. nite!

Pete, I am highly offended that you think I am that thin skinned! I know that it's not a problem or I wouldn't be there. But I will be and we are all looking forward to it!!

There not forbidden, it's just that are camp is a mix of kids and older folks who have passed thru that part of craziness! I still like to come over to your camp(not sneak) and see friends. When it get's too crazy I leave. It's just the way I am it's not a bad thing against anyone I have just gotten a little more conservative in my old age. Yes I still like to drink my beer but I also know that it hurts more the next day than it used to and I come to the dunes to dune not to be hungover and feel like crap so I know my limits. I don't look down on anyone that likes to party but I do enjoy a good nights sleep listening to the sounds of motors reving on the dunes. You sure you want a couple of old farts camping with you this trip?

Remind me Bills to call a tribal on your azz!

Yeah Nick exactly the "quiet time" we like!! Not all of us remained loud, drunk and obnoxious are whole life!

Pete, I want to camp with you guys and have to convince Ken Irvin that it will be ok over there. He will be getting in around mid day on Friday and I will need to be able to direct him as to where your camp will be and who will be there. He is even older and onry than I am but is a nce guy and loves to ride his YFZ. He also will be on the sperry wash run with his Ranger. Let me know the location if you mark a spot on the map I can e mail that to him. So looking forward to this weekend!

Who's leading this shindig? Also who is bringing up the rear as tailgunner?
-
With new campers with us we have a "Tribal Council" later and have only voted 3 out in a very long time. First one that gets to camp parks and sets the plan for all that have advised up front to expect them. Anybody shows up unexpectedly we either wiggle them in or they get the leftover outer circle. Always been that way. It is funny though that after camping together for so long that each individual has his own preferred spot and that's where they go right to. It's all good and makes it fun!

This is Katie! The first picture shows her relaxing after playing hard and you can still see a little Dumont sand on her nose. The second picture is on the ride home and she was all tuckered out. She will be ready to go on the Sperry Wash ride this Sat.

So do you think the BLM is supplying picnic benches for all the camp sites now?
-
The wind at Dumont Sucks not Blows! By the way any mention of the "W" word while you are at Dumont is cause for a wind storm. So no talking about it or even thinking about it, ever!!!

Pete, we're bringing the motorhome and the flatbed with 2 Rhino's. Walt will be diving Richards. If none of our regular group is going we will join you at # 6 if that's ok?
-
Pete, what time are you taking the trail? We can't be out till Sat AM due to a Friday commitment. But we want to take the Rhino on that trip with you guys.
-
Can you actually get to the China Date ranch on this trail?

Well Said Rich

Well the difference is that if somebody wants to run by and show her Ta-Ta's then that's her decision to take that responsibility upon themselves. However if you bring a Stipper pole as a GATHERING spot then you take the responsibilities on. It's not the one's,twoses we are talking about it is the creation of an "event" that causes the problems. I used to go to comp hill all the time and I must say I must be unlucky cause the only naked I saw was some guy riding his 2 wheeler with a g string on a cold Halloween night, not much to see! I agree about kids late at night but what about the influennce that this has on 14-16 year old kids that are allowed maybe for the first time to get to go to comp hill with their buddies? Drinking, fighting and DUI will cause problems and they could be an innocent victim. I really don't want somebody knocking on my M/H door to tell me that my kid or grandkid is dead cause some a-hole left the stripper pole all boozed up and macho'd and ran over them by mistake. You might think I am a old fuddy duddy that has it out for comp hill, that's not true. I am older and have seen enough in the last 32 years of going to Dumont to see the changes and the prices that are paid for it. I just want to keep the place safe, clean and open. If you want to be an azz-hole go to glamis or better yet stay home and leave us true off roaders alone.
-
Not questioning your reasons but if you watch from where ever does that not mean that you approve of what is happening? If less people went over there and "watched" then the draw would be less likely for the show offs and macho flatbillers that bring this crap with them. Just throwing this out there.
-
Ken, it is not my fear that the "stripper pole" and naked girls are at comp hill it's the people who go there for that attraction. You say that it's to damn dangerous over there, well your right. The stripper pole is just another excuse for the dumbazz's to drink them selves into oblivion and then get in a car/truck/quad or bike and then haul a$$ right over the top of the innocent people who are just watching the spectacle! I have nuthing against naked women and nothing against stripper poles as long as they are in the right place(age controlled etc.) When's the last time you were in a stripper club where they let anyone in and had no control over the people attending. Ever been to a bachelor party or frat house party where things got out of hand? Do you want your child to see that much less be an innocent victim of such"an event"? I do not usually go to the hill at night due to the above reasons, also I don't drink and drive, it's usually cold and dusty at the hill and it's nice and warm with cold beer at my fire and I am surronded by good friends that I go to Dumont to be with not the ones that go to ruin all that we have. Just my 2 cents and I am again stepping off my soapbox.

When I first read this post I just shook my head and said WHY? Now after reading the remainder of the posts I shake my head and say WHY? WHY would you bring this to a family type area where age control is impossible. Second, why would you bring something that you are going to get hassled for right under the Law Enforcement Officers noses and than b*tch that "they shut you down" Last thing I had heard about the t-day incident was it cost you $1300.00 in fines and you were lucky that they wern't pushing stiffer charges against you. Now you want to come back and do it again? What part of this equasion am I missing? Or maybe I am not the one missing it? I stopped going to comp hill on Thanksgiving 2005 just because of this incident. It showed me that all the things that I don't like happening at the dunes were there all in one place and by me going it was being a hypocrit. So do what you want but I personally hope they write you, book you and take your rig as evidence. I fight to keep Dumont open for my kids and grandkids and I don't want to see yahoo's like this ruin it for them. Now I am off my soapbox!

Sorrry dude but that's the info the BLM emt told me. So I thought it was a reliable source. Hope I didn't offend you and hope you get well soon.

Looks like a nice machine but i am not wild about the roll bar design. If you rolled it in any rough stuff there appears to be little protection for your head. Oh Yeah and it's a Polaris that right there kills the deal!
