  1. I get them on occasion but excused as well being military, just remember it's a citizen's duty to put scum bag away or not. That person you might be sitting on the Jury, just might have stolen a toyhauler full of stuff..... Good chance they won't even need you anyway when you say why....SF Woody
  2. Sounds like a good time, we'll have to see...SF Woody
  3. We didn't find any remains, but we have a ton of clue's. I took Gloria with a couple other people to talk with who everyone thought was the man that had killed April. She had a good feeling once we left he was not the one. He was layed up in the hospital and they talked for over an hour and half. He gave alot of information to Gloria that was passed on to the authorities today. The story took a major twist, we'll see how everything works out. I'll post pics from the weekend tomorrow. Meet some really good people...SF Woody
  4. Yes I do, I'll be seeing ya later....
  5. Yeah, coming up and some peeps are gonna be there, gonna be good times had by all....
  6. Went out to search site 1 today to drop off some supplies, took a few pics of the area as well. It's sits out in the desert about 8 miles near nothing, south of Ludlow. The shaft is at about a 45 degree angle about 250 feet deep. At the bottom is another shaft we have to remove about 15 feet of dirt straight down. I can use you at site 1 OGP, will have to leave the porta potty down at the bottom of the hill, need someone taking people up and down for sure. It'll give your Rhino some work...SF Woody
  7. I did a milage check, Barstow, 247, 62, 10 is 97 miles... Barstow, Ontario route to the same spot on the 10 is 116 miles... Depending on the time of day and traffic really about the same, but if you get caught in that traffic on the freeway, then 247 would have been the ticket, I like back roads than freeway, more accidents to come up upon on the freeway...
  8. Might be a little quicker if you jumped on the 247 here in Barstow and took it over to the 62 then down to the 10. That's the route I took to get to Glamis, not a bad drive at all....SF Woody :beer_bang:
  9. Looks good, lots of fun times in there.....
  10. I've been seeing the commercials as well, and thinking about going, haven't made up my mind just yet. Would be a fun trip to SD....SF Woody

  16. Next weekend the 26th and 27th, volunteers will be conducting a search in the local area, site specific. Anyone wanting to volunteer there time or money will be greatly appreciated. Hopefully we can give a family some closure next weekend, and they can continue the fight for the missing. More info can be found at this site and the internet in general. http://www.whereisapril.org/index.html Semper Fi, Woody A little background: April Beth Pitzer was last seen in the vicinity of the 30000 block of Caspian Way in Newberry Springs, CA. She told her roommate that she was leaving on a bus to visit her mother in Arkansas, but never arrived. April had been a model for a variety of clothing stores in Arkansas and Texas. She left behind two young daughters, whom she doted upon. In December 2005, clothing was found in a mineshaft in Ludlow, California. In January 2006, April's mother positively identified the clothing as belonging to her daughter. There was no other sign of April at the scene. April has a medical condition and requires medication. NEXT SEARCH: April 26-27, 2008 RAIN OR SHINE LOCATIONS: Mineshafts and surrounding areas near Barstow and Newberry Springs RALY POINT: Peggy Sue's 50's Dinner (west side of parking lot - dirt section only) 35654 Yermo Road Yermo, CA 92398 GOOGLE MAP ***NOTE: POINTER MAY BE INACCURATE*** MEETING TIME: 7:30 AM EXPECT: Trucks will take volunteers to the sites. 17. I won't be hitting up the Poker Run, another volunteer opp came up today. Anyone in the area is invited to attend and help out... and it's for a good cause as well. Some new leads have come up and we will be conducting a search for April. Here's a little background, sorry to hijack the thread....SF Woody April Beth Pitzer was last seen in the vicinity of the 30000 block of Caspian Way in Newberry Springs, CA. 19. Yeah, I live right here, just ride over.... Really no camping area, just pull in whereever and set up, as long as your off the road. They try to get alot of people to camp near SlashX for the event and there's plenty of room..... SF Woody :beer_bang:
  20. Made the last one, But my hands were junk, so I'm gonna try to do this one as well. For a good cause......SF Woody
  21. Couple days later, but I've been a little busy. Got to the meeting about 30 minutes late even. Again, I was the only user there.... :surrender: They were getting a presentation on some collection machines for the entrance. Think there on the right path with that. So there should be a couple new ones there by next season. They had a draft copy of the Helipad, looks like it will be pretty nice. And no access fee's were used to fund it. Looking at some more asphalt from the razor road project instead of the 40, supposed to get started sooner and be closer to dumont which will cut down transportation cost. Hopefully that will be complete by end of summer. BLM has the Funco for is stricly for law enforcement not EMS. They have some, but are lacking in exp drivers, Grant from Funco is stepping up to the plate and will be giving some classes to the pers that will be driving them, details still to be worked out though. The orange posts and caution they put on the closed trails seem to be working, Roxy said it looked like out of bounds travel was down since installation. They will be submitting for grant money soon, but just because they get some, doesn't mean it will all be for Dumont, Barsow BLM has over 3 million acres of land they oversee and that money is dispersed throughout all the areas. They are carrying over 180k (Dumont Money) into next year, with little bills still out, and the entrance fee machines will come from that as well. Most of that money will be for getting started on the upcoming season. Dr. William Presch, gave an update on the lizard, most all positive sounding, they seen as many if not more in all the areas they keep watch over. Still not outta the water, but sounding better to me. I asked about another Sat meeting, won't be the next one, but will be one on Sat before the season starts. The next meeting will be on June 3rd, 2008. Barstow BLM office. Hope some more can make it out, until next time....SF Woody
