its a whole process Jim been tradition in the camp long before i started at dumont. day before dig a pit ours is usually about grave size about 4-5 foot deep (room for 4-5 turkeys). then build a good fire in the hole let it burn most of the day (to sanitize). thanksgiving day put a layer of charcoal in the hole and light it. the turkeys are prepared then put in a foil pan and wrapped in many many layers of tin foil. you put the turkeys in the hole spread more charcoal around and over them and fill the hole back up with sand. makes a big oven many hours later dig them up and unwrap. be sure to cone and mark off the hole so no one falls or drives in it.

i think i have had turkey at dumont about every way oven, BBQ, deep fried, infrared, buried in a sand oven

i have insurance and lock my toys at night. i will show them off to anyone that cares.. in seven years the only thing i have is lost is brain cells and a few younger years but they weren't stolen.

damn that must have hit at a off angle to do that kind of damage to a safe car. it looks like it took it well cage seems intact..... hope everyone ends up being ok

There was a discussion awhile back about building some sort of drag that would live out there and people could volunteer to drag it up and back now and then to help knock the wash board down. I think we should look in to this again if they aren't going to grade it as often. I get out early in the week most of the time and wouldn't be any big deal to run the drag up and back. Wonder if Blm would be ok with that?

Your Killing me Smalls. Guess this is pay back for one of the times I was duning when everyone was working. I'm on a good road gig that will finance my sand habit for a while. it would be a cool ticket to frame on the toyhauler wall. fined for "playing at dumont when the government was closed down" i tried to get one for flying a kite at pismo (guess it scares the dumb birds and is illegal) cop just waved as he drove past.
