it has it's pro's and cons. these are the two most prominent: pro: traffic around the front finger dune was almost non-existent. traffic leaving dumont around that area on sunday to leave the dunes flowed like a river. con: the old vendor row spot provided a great landmark as to which direction to travel to find your camp at night, and how far. i didn't go to comp. hill at all at night during this trip, but i spoke with friends who did and they experienced alot of difficulty finding their way back in darkness. overall, i initially didn't care for the new vendor row placement idea, but i've changed my mind after this weekend and my opinion is that the pro's outweigh the cons.

how did the quads run this weekend
high octane junkie replied to quad~dizzle's topic in ATV / Motorcycle Talk
my baby blue banshee ran well, i was excited to run it again. the baby pink banshee still needs to be figured out. another weekend of playing with the gearing and paddles and it'll be solved. ran well though, it's on the third season of the ground-up build and no issues (except for changing over to 35mm carbs recently and trying to figure out the right set-up) the white 700 raptor ran flawlessly this weekend, my friend rode it and i'm sure it won 0 races heh. (it's only pipe, filter, and controller) rhino ran good as well. i'll hopefully have the 734 raptor out there on veterans day, and it'll be atleast president's day weekend before i bust out the rx'd quadzilla. -
it was a decent weekend for me. nothing broke. company was great. someone got a picture of me at the meet, standing next to pete. no bueno, i've been sited. can't wait for veterans day weekend.

Sandrail wheelies into a Banshee on comp
high octane junkie replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
i think his name is charlie. i talked to jay (orange suburu rail) and that is his best friend that was riding the banshee. i guess jay has to haul the guys camper and rail back to town for him, along with his own stuff. jay said his pelvis was shattered, and his face needs to be reconstructed. he needs a plate in both cheeks, along with a complete jaw re-build and re-alignment. i guess the sad thing was is that the guy was at the hill in his rail, and wanted to shoot the banshee up the hill real quick. jay said that the guy who was driving the rail left the scene in another rail, but was caught and arrested later on. i hope he feels like crap. -
whats up with men and the garage
high octane junkie replied to Drunkest Girl In The World's topic in General Chat
what's up with broads and the shopping mall? -
if i don't pass out again, i'll try to be there on time this trip.. apparently you folks don't hang out there for four hours! heh.

that sort of isolation is called 'protective custody" or abbreviated "pc" by those incarcerated. i think it's spelled "pedophile" as well. anyway, because of the sensitive nature of this case, there's a good chance he won't even spend any time in the fish tank. ndoc will certainly have him classified before he gets transported into their custody from the detention center.

yeah, i'm going with the lonestar steering stem as well, i have three quads with it and i love 'em. i'm gonna get the 1-1/8" clamp.. i have the 7/8" on the banshee's, but went with the oversize on the 734 raptor, and i love it. yeah, i'm pretty stoked about the motor. Q returned my PM and said it was a good buy. i'm not gonna have it ready by turkeyday, but i hope i can make it out there to ride with you anyway. what length in your lonestar swingarm? i'm being told that the laegers arm is comparable to the lonestar and about the same price, but if i had my choice i'd rather have the lonestar, heh.
-
that's awesome, good deal imo. i would've traded a mustang for it, too! heh. looks good brother, wish it was in my garage. good luck and have fun.
-
did you purchase it new, or used?
-
the first few pics don't show.. there's more pics in a couple other posts a li'l further down that do appear. =)~
-
i'm not kidding you.. i just purchased a complete Q motor from someone in ohio. it has pretty close to everything i wanted Q to do for me. i also purchased his laeger +4 chrome swingarm, LSR axle, LSR carrier, and billet brake stay. i might have the mighty zilla out at dumont by president's day.. need a riding partner? =)~
-
also, which swingarm did you go with? the lonestar is a bit pricey, and i'd like to have a yamaha rear end on mine. i'm gonna call metaltech and see if they can custom build me one. i can't get enough of those pics, you're going all the way. i can only hope mine turns out as nice as yours brother. effin' good job.
-
when i get a rail, it's gonna be a drakart 2-seater.
-
i'm probably gonna go with the skat trak edge paddles that Q recommends, but i'm unsure. he also recommends STU comp cut sand skate 1's. i think your tire combination should work well for hillshooting, but it's not gonna dune well at all. i usually run skat trak extremes, but Q doesn't recommend them unless you're strictly drag racing. i have a 100 rwh banshee that i usually drag out there and it doesn't dune well anymore. i'm building the zilla to be a high speed duner that can still run the hill. your zilla is looking great. the polish looks real nice. i'm gonna go with lonestar +2+1 arms on mine, so i can adjust the caster back a bit. i was supposed to call Q yesterday to discuss the motor details, missed the opportunity. hopefully i didn't lose my place in line. i might go with an '87 cylinder instead of the '88 i have. i sent my cylinder to jeff tudor "tudor's performance" and had it re-sleeved and bored to 88mm (524cc) and stage II ported. i think the parts and labor were around $800 but i think i'm gonna sell the cylinder and piston for $500. they haven't been ran or installed since he did the work. good luck with the bike and i hope you have it out for halloween weekend. i'll be out there riding either: 1) blue banshee with baby blue frame (mine) 2) silver (or no plastic at all, haven't ordered yet) raptor 700 w/ 734 motor (mine) 3) silver banshee with baby pink frame (girlfriends) if you see any of these, stop by and say hey.

that looks like a Q pipe for sure! i have one, still sitting in the box all shiny, new, and pretty looking. waiting on a Q motor. are those the stock arms? and who polished the motor? thanks.
-
HaPeE BurFdaE dan. the best part of the weekend was being with friends at the dunes. broken ribs couldn't stop roy from leading a good dune ride on the bikes. everything was pretty awesome, no matter how bad it was or it started to look. can't wait for halloween weekend. i hope i can make other trips this season as well.. the palazzo is gonna get mad in a couple weeks.

mine snapped. they're $350.00 new from yamaha. i just replaced it though.. can't wait for an aftermarket chromoly.

kick off weekend observations & trip reports
high octane junkie replied to RAGDOLL MX's topic in 2007/2008 Season
observations: 1) i'm convinced raptoroy can fix anything. 2) showing up at the south pole 4 hours late isn't gonna be beneficial in participating in a meet 'n' greet.. what a nap! 3) watching pete run with the big boys up comp. has about got me convinced to get a bigger hauler so i can get a 'busa.. how much room do i need for a rhino, a drakart, two stretched shee's, two 700r's, and a zilla? =)~ -
wow. thanks for the heads-up brother.
-
rusty trombone rofl.. i've yet to meet a broad willing. the snowplow is a sweet maneuver.. i recommend it. i listen to 80's alternative and new wave. what has nine arms and sucks?
-
orale.
-
my broad has double d's.. that usually works when hitching rides heh. i kid.

Any Rhino's Going Out This Weekend?
high octane junkie replied to geeza76's topic in Dumont Happenings
out of dan's shop? possibly, heh.
