Jakster884
Just checking to see if anyone here has changed their own fuel filter on an F250 2006 6.0 Diesel. If possible can you give me the hex bolt size to change the filter on the seperator under the drivers side. I thought it was an 1 1/2" but it's a little too big. It seems to be bigger than 1 3/8" but not sure. :dumbass: I do not have the complete selection of bigger diameter sockets so it will help with any input PLEASE. Also do they sell a special wrench to remove this filter cover??? Thanks in advance for your help.

dune racer 77
first depresurize the lines then take off the filter and the hex most likly will be metric
Noozeyeguy
Yeah it's metric, I don't remember the size but it's an oddball. Root around on some of the diesel forums and you should find the specific info, but for my money I'd let someone else do it. I had a 6.0 Excursion once upon a time, I took one look at the filter and location and said the hell with it. IIRC the new filter went to the new owners still in the box. Happiest days of my life were when I bought that truck, and when I sold it...
Sandpirates2
These are in your future dude - I do mine every 20K and the set will cost you about $120, plus about an hour of your time. The one on top (super easy) the one under the drivers door.....what a Pain, but prepare to get fuel all over you.....but it beats the dealer costs of over $250 to change it. I use a modified oil filter wrench for the bottom one, and it takes about 20 minutes.
