dunefreak
I'm sure most of you have to deal with those damn bugs you accumulate on the front of your rigs when on road trips. So are there any tips? Ya know..just like when you go 4 wheelin...spray WD40 on parts of your truck or quad so the mud cleans off easier. Is there something like that for haulers? I can't stand srubbing that nasty chit off the front after a trip.
Jakster884
Its funny you bring this up today. I washed my truck yesterday and it took longer to wash the grill than it did the rest of the truck. Damn bugs. Any tips I would love to know also. I had to get my new stickers on...
duniemonkie
Cover the front of the hauler in seran wrap befor each trip, then peel it off and toss it out when you get home!

At the time I wondered why you would want rock guard that washed off but maybe this will work for the bugs.
ynot
Camping world has a product that works great! http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/bug-bust/21249 this one I have used and can attest to it working, this one looks like it does the same thing but I would be worried about it taking the wax off; http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/...r-remover/47616

I have a feeling on the freeway that would fly off after an hour...or a minute. was thinking a good coat of wax and they should wash right off.. You're probably right. That would be a good start. Richard Cheese
with your fiberglass, i dont know if wd40 would work, but WD40 on my aluminium sided rig not only got rid of the water spots from 4 years, but also allows for the bugs to be sprayed off with a pressure washer fairly easy. diamond plate the front of that biatch and fuggetaboudit
dunefreak
I think the front cap on my hauler is plastic. or is that fiberglASS

I worked at a car dealer as a kid and the old detailer would put kerosene in the wash water and we could wash 4-5 cars on the lot at once then dry without water spots, and protects the finish with a thin film that keeps bug, tar, road grime from sticking. Keeps fiberglass from drying out too. Still use it today. I use kerosene on my quads o-ring chain and it's 10 years old and not stretched yet, a 500 LT. Kerosene is the base for a lot of automotive products.

I'll have to try a mixture of dat chit. :foshizz: I know this stuff may be harsh on the wax, but "Mr.Clean's Magic Erasers" are fuggin' awesome. They work killer on tire scuffs inside on walls and the floor. Even on yellowing exterior plastics too. I did use them on the front of the hauler for bugs. took em' right off. I just think they'd be a little harsh to use all the time. R-

nmonty
I once knew a guy that would spray the front of his car with Pam prior to long roadtrips. Bugs would just wipe off. I'm not sure if I would do it to my ride, though. Nick

~JILL~
Just saw an rv tip on a destination show on TV. The tip for bugs is to put a light coat of dish soap on with a rag and then when you get to where your going just wash it off. Sounded good Guess I'll try it in Sept. and see if it works. Can't hurt to try it.
