raspadoo
Certain years of the 3.5's and 3.2's are more desireable. The rods are the weak point for sure, although still strong enough to put a hole through your oil pan, trust me
SandBurro
Depends if you go with the SOHC J30 which is the Honda v6 3.0 or the J35 Honda v6 3.5. Ive seen the J35 with turbo pump over 400 horse power to the wheels. Now you can also go with the C32B which is the older series honda v6 engine that has dual over head cams. It was used in the Acura NSX. There is a engine distributor in Ontario California called CT Engine. Thats where i used to get all of mine in my drag strip days. RUn2it
Randog or Crusty (if you can find him) Crusty got a crate long block for $1200 delivered to his shop before he got back from a Glamis rod through block trip, if I remember the story right. Randogs car sounds like a blender eating the sand at full boost!
Randog
Hey Bob, I'm not a guru, mainly because I've had lots of good luck with my set-up. It's a J35 3.5L 10lbs of boost. Stock pistons and rods. Stock computer. Got five seasons out of it so far. Guess the trick is to baby it and it will last. The Honda motors are like 10:1 compression stock, so if you boost to 7lbs I'd suggest 110octane minimum. At that boost I think you'd be lookin' at about 400HP. Mine still runs hard on the peddle but doesn't idle smooth like it used too. I realize I'm living on borrowed time with mine, but like Lee said, Crusty can buy a short block for $1200 with a few valves too. Hope that helps, and good luck to whom ever is looking to use the Honda power plant. R-
