I was pretty panicked at that time and was all alone, so once again thank you!! It was fun driving something different after 3 years. It was nice meeting some new peeps. 80Grit is a cool dude. Thanks for leading the ride on Sunday Pete, it was almost impossible to read the dunes. ---It is amazing how many people ask if it is hard to see over the fenders??? ---SandSnakes new car is sweet. ---It's always fun hangin with DDR peeps. ---I got to pull Bert's tracker out with the huntin quad ---Can't wait til next time, probably Oct. 16th-18th weekend if the weather looks good. Mike said the same thing.. it looks like he is wayyyyy behind in the video, when he is actually right up on him. Must be the wide angle on the camera! My favorite part of the video is 5 mins in when he has both Pete and Joe in front and Joe hits a nice little jump! And thanks Cheese! I still have alot to figure out on that little camera, it will all come together the more I use it and figure things out!! However, we all ripped through them dunes as if there were tracks leading the way. My favorite part on the fresh glass is "Power Sliding" everywhere. Great video Mike. I got some of our last ride on Saturday. I'll try to put something together soon. Can't beat them GoPro cameras for the price. Great pics too 80Grit and SandChick! Thanks a bunch. Everyone new cars are sweet! I forgot you got a new one too ~Sand Snake~ Missed it! I had a total blast with everyone. Special thanks to the KRUSTY Krew for feeding the Dog. Even when I was a BadDog and threw the water bottle and hit your moho. Always good time with the DDR group. Good meeting more like 80 Grit, Firecracker, and more! Can't wait for next trip! dannygraves Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 All i can say is what a damn good time!!! My bike stayed together the entire weekend!! Cooling issues are OVER WOOHOO!! I burned 5 gallons of gas and it didnt turn into a lawn sprinkler lol. Sand was SUPER soft and witch's eyes everywhere. Thought we were gonna die a few times on saturday s mid day right. Noon with super powdery and whiteout conditions in most spots made for a slow sketchy ride on the 2 wheelers. For a group of us that are usually 4-5 gear cruisers i dont think we got out of third and that was pushing it for the conditions it was pretty bad. Justin aka SandSaw aka dinicolada and dinicolady's son aka anorexic a-hole has some footage of our ride where i end up eating it behind comp. You can see where my front wheel just sunk past the front axle and launched me over the bars lol Skinner and ninjagreengirl hooked it up on the hospitality tent this weekend for me and i wanna thank them for lettin me crash on their couch Whens the next trip.. Im ready!! yeah dude, that was a fun ride, a little less wind and fewer powdery surprises would have made it awesome. vegas style Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 great kickoff weekend pulled into dumont about noon thursday with mrbrownsand (ken) and our friend randy. temp was 77 last year was 107! road is bad grade D-. stopped by and chatted with 80grit on the way to the camping spot. had a few nice quad runs and a stop at the north pole so i could log in on my iphone and tease everyone that wasnt there yet. nice cool quiet night. friday was little breezy making it feel very nice. people added to the camp all day long and i spent some time introducing people that was fun went alot like this "rob -randy ah hi" and then the ddr names "80grit-randog oh hey man" some very nice new cars and happy owners. thanks for the ride 80grit i will co-pilot for you anytime. top right side of comp is pretty messed up with the woops and rollers and then the little jagged bowl on top on the right. there will be some carnage up there on halloween. i had trouble reading the dunes until later in the day when there was more shadows. was good to a lot of my sand friends im ready for more good times this year. It was beautifull, no wind and near virgin sand! A llittle on the warm side but tolerable. Thank Gawd I decided to do a test run prior to the season!!!!!!!! See that some folks I know were already there. Sorry I didn't recognize any vehicles or I would have certainly stopped by and said HI! ,and begged a beer or something alcoholic to sooth my pain Anyhoo! Put up the Pop up and started to check out the changes I made this offf season. According to Pertronics I was suppose to open the plugs to .035 that didn't work out too well since the engine builder put in the wrong plugs anyway!!!! Then the Tranny I had rebuilt wouldn't stay in Reverse. Talked to John at RC Tranny today and he assures me that if it is something he missed he will take care of it! I did spend $500 for a new cable shifter because I thought the old one was bad. It did it at St Anthony too! An honorable businessman in Vegas. didn't suprise me, as he has a stellar reputation in town!! Finally got it running in the forward gears only to have one of the tires peal off the wheel again! Old style Centerline spindle mount wheels just aren't good for tubeless application Sh*t. Putting innertubes in this week Just can't justify new wheels on a "What If"? Common folks, an :poop: like me couldn't possibly too fast to peal tires off a decent wheel???? Or, could I????? Just when exactally did I p*ss off "Gawd"so bad????? Time to have a couple of beers I can drink now.......Miller low carb 64! Not too bad after a hot frustrating day at Dumont!!! Going back a weekend before Haloween, after the tranny is fixed, and probably Halloween too! Anyone I can camp with if I come out Haloween. Especailly a camp that drinks, one with horny women that are not attached........Yeh right, I am harmless and go to bed early or watch TV!
