sandawg
Does anybody know how to get directv at Dumont? Which direction to point the dish and how hard is it to dial in directv out there? Thanks. about 138=140 degrees. up about 42=44 degrees. play from there. Is real easy! dish should point towards the dunes to the left a bit. Don't forget your compass and use north for your point of reference. BIG DAVE XP1K
Does anybody know how to get directv at Dumont? Which direction to point the dish and how hard is it to dial in directv out there? Thanks. Its simple point your dish south west tword the gap to comp. make sure your tripod (ground mount) or trailer (Tailer top mount) is level that part is very important. Make sure you can hear the signal meter on your tv or have someone assist. move the dish left & right slowly till ya hit the signal. sounds tuff but really nothin to it I bought a little signal meter on e bay that utilizes the power off the sat box cable for $5 and that helps alot You can buy the same meter at camp world for between $25-$30 :freakin_nuts: good luck I have both mount locations and I find the ground mount the easiest

VegasRaptor
I know this is an old topic but interested in trying a tripod set up for football for Thanksgiving. Any new suggestions or advice before I buy a kit. A bit confused about local channels being able to be viewed. Thank you!
aseman
I use mine out there every year. I use a tripod and just level it with the built in bubble sight glass; from there, bury the legs so the wind doesn't take it down. Set the receiver to the visible and audible strength meter and turn up the volume on your TV. Slowly begin to rotate the dish pointing south-west, and there you go! You'll here and see the strength meter begin to pulse rapidly once you start going over 80% signal strength. Enjoy KickOff! I'll be right out there watching too!
