Mike M.
Well took the 2 hr ride from vegas yesterday for a day trip with some friends. Some of them being newer riders. 10 Mins into our ride one of the riders veers off by himself. I stay with him so he doesn't get lost. As we go to rejoin the group I lead him over a small dune only to be smashed by one of the other riders coming over the other side!!! It was nobody's fault as we crested the dune at the same time. We saw each other at the last min and both turned away but it was too late. As we crashed we both flew thru the air for what seemed like forever he flipped over 5 times end over end. He clipped my back wheel which made my bars slam into my chest throwing me off my bike. My brand new rim and paddle flattened like a pancake. His bike was much worse. He hit his front end into me so hard that the bars were straight and the wheels were at 90'!! Many other bent parts to his bike. We couldn't even tow the bike back we had to pick it up with the truck. Looking back it could have been much worse. When I got up I looked over at him and he was face down in the sand for a few seconds and then got up very slowly. I'm just glad we both walked away (barely)!! It sucked that we were only there for 10 mins!!! Just lucky nobody was seriously hurt a few more inches to the left or right I wouldn't be writing this right now. I guess you can never be to careful. Ride safe. Edited March 7, 2010 by Mike M.
