Best thing was when me and Deven went to get our boots on, he starts to hand me mine and goes, 'This is crazy isn't it, probably not a good idea huh?' and I said, 'Yeah, probably not.' Cause your girlfriend is a and decided it was better to go play in the wind then sit in the hauler.. and while you guys sat there deciding what to do I was already running the finger dune!! chevell27 Posted March 16, 2010 Share Posted March 16, 2010 I really like these pics... we went out sat. morning, left vegas about 8am and it was hard here already, said f*k it lets go anyways..got out there around 10am found Mush and family and got ready to go pick up some trash...decided we would go over to vendors and pick up the H Town Crew and what do you know... it turned into a full dune run out to saweeeeet! got back to the trailers about 1:30 and Chris(Mush) says take my new beast for a spin(rotax rhino w/ 840 kit) so we take off and as soon as we do the wind kicks up and you cant even see the edges of the dunes, we go for about a 5-10 min and get into the big dunes at the south end and I smell something burning, so I hurry up and shut the rhino down, rip out the seats and sure enough tons of oil is coming out the breather filter so I wave down a group on quads and hitch a ride to camp(if your the guy that gave me the ride-THANK YOU!) grab Chris and we head back over in my rhino, sure enough we fire it up and its got a knock in the engine doesnt sound good(valve-spring?)..so we turn her off and start lookin at our tow options, after about 30 min of attempts to pull it out of the bowl we make it... and then once we had momentum the rest of the dunes were fairly easy to get through...so it was fun in the morning but then it seems like all hell broke loose on us. Just want to apologise to Mush and family, not only did I bring the wind in with me sat. but then I took out his toy and blew it up :angry2: :porn: so they weathered the storm sat. night (while I slept in my nice cozy bed here in vegas)and woke up to freshies with no toy to play because of ME! :argue: Thanks for inviting me out Chris! Sure you wanna ask next time???? that was a bad a$$ run thanx for coming by and inviting us i think the best part of that ride is when you pull that prerunner out that was great he had all that money in that thing and your rhino had to pull him out haha Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

r8r family Posted March 16, 2010 Share Posted March 16, 2010 F'n wicked wind . Stayed in the hauler and watched movies with the little ones. Had to reset the jacks on the trailer 3 times, each time i had about 4" of daylight under each pad. Woke up Sunday and spent a good two hours cleanin up and diggin the 6 to 8 inches of sand from on top of my carpet and anything else that was subject to the sandblasting, sand toys, dogs you name it. The hauler was full of sand my butt was full of sand (dont ask) the quads were buried it was nasty. But we're all still kickin. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We have been out there before when the wind is so bad that you think its gunna flip ur R.V. over!! Kind of glad we missed that weekend. I was going up the stairs of Rockets mansion on wheels Saturday evening and a gust caught the door as I was opening it, Tried to hold it when the door took off..... with me attached..... and threw me off the step into my Rhino and on my butt. Bob and his guest were at the table watching this happen. The look on their faces and mine would have made a classic photo. No harm no foul, still don't know how I didn't get hurt at all.
