sincityshooter13
Anyone know the laws in Ca and Nv for flat towing, im in the middle of deciding whether to build a new 2 seat frame or turn a bug into a baja, the bug has no title. and if i do the rail it would be homemade. I have no room for a trailer and no money to buy one. ive heard people say they flat tow there race cars with no reg/insur with no problems, and others say it has to be reg/insur. and i cant afford insurance on another vehicle. anyone? ltr450rider
Almost all trailers need to be registered, dont know about insurance though.
Runnin A Fever
I read something here in CA at some point that related to insurance for vehicles "... all that are parked on public streets, towed on roads, etc...." Hope this helps.
sincityshooter13
yeah, seams i may have to go a different route for towing. I found this, basically its an extended tow dolly. http://www.woods-car.com/ttrailer.htm
randyvw
in cali if so much as one wheel is on the ground it must be registered(and insured of course). which means not even tow dolly for you. if it's towed you need no registration, but keep in mind that lots of trails cross or share "street legal only" roads that you won't be able to "legally" drive on. sincityshooter13
how hard is it to take a home made trailer and get it registered, because i could whip up one of those in an afternoon otherwise i would have to buy a dolly, register it then extend it, but building my own would save a lot of cash.
