high octane junkie Posted August 15, 2006 Share Posted August 15, 2006 i was riding the green glow stick banshee...AND its only a 350 there was a grey/black honda? that i beat by just a few bike lengths..i was quit impressed. there were two of them out there with a glowstick, one clearly faster than the other. i'm pretty sure i know which one was the 350, and it's quick. my gf's 376 won't keep up with it, but she's running stock carbs, stock ignition, and it weighs 400 lbs. it dunes really nice though. Man I felt Like I was busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. All night long it seemed like something was needed from camp and since tank racing is so boring I must have made 25 trips back and forth but my tank sure can carry alot of stuff and get it to the top of the hill. Thanks for dragging some of my stuff back to camp Nick Pete & Cole. When did Tiff get hurt? I rode back to camp with her pretty late in the night, and I returned to the hill to start tearing down stuff? Maybe she had already been hurt and was too wasted to remember? She didnt look too worse for the wear when I saw you guys at the stop sign on the tecopa road? Is she OK? I must point out something tho, for those of you discussing when should we do it again etc etc etc From the very beginning and the flyer Dunefreak made up said "1ST ANNUAL DUMONT DUNES NIGHT DRAGS" and this is NOT a democracy!!! A couple of us are going down and working in Dans shop to keep things running for him and his family. As most of you know he runs his own business. This is a going to be very hard on his family. Many of you said to let you know if you can help. Well they sell shirts and apparel. They can also order anything or parts you need. To let all of you know we are all very good and experienced mechanics. Dan had surgury and they put pins in his back to relieve the pain. They are still waiting to hear from the neurologist tomorrow. Any help will be apprieciated no matter how small. The name of his shop for those of you who don't know is The Powerhouse. It is located in the The Center at Spring mountain on Schiff dr. 702-227-1238 Thank you all very much. Roy oh and by the way DDR through a good event looking forward to next year and thank you to whom ever pulled my light off the hill. I think we can drag some lights out along with the tree sometime during the dune season to do some night racing, but I thought it would be an annual event as far as a "big" production like this last weekend's. Doesn't matter much to me though, I'm always down to go have some fun in the sand...as long as I can afford to. I hope everything works out ok for Dan and he recovers quickly. I myself have never met the guy. I tried helping any way I could shortly after his crash. I was working the light and ran over as soon as he looped the bike out. That is as much as I have ever met him. Either way, whether he be a best friend or some guy out at the dunes, he is a friend of mine if he is a fellow rider out there having fun. I hope I can somehow help him out. If we have to set up a "donation from DDR" account or whatever, say it and I can try and make it happen. I know how hard it is to rely on physical mobility and health for a living. I have been injured in the past (not even as bad as Dan) and thought my job was in jeopardy at the time, but somehow managed to deal with it. I couldn't imagine dealing with such a bad injury like Dan's and worrying about work too. Please set up a thread maybe or give us suggestions as to what all of us at DDR can do for him. I wasn't sure when you mentioned earlier about his shop and what they do if you just meant come support his shop or what. Some of us may not need any work done or parts, but still would like to help. We are all in much better situations that he is right now and I'm sure he would appreciate anything we did for him. Every little bit helps. (And btw, in my case I DID have armz, but that was only one of many times I was hurt. I don't have him anymore though- he went from apprentice to tech on his own already.)
