Stray
I've been going to Dumont for many years and have never done any trail ride. How is the Wash trail, where does it go? Is there a trail to Tecopa? Is there a trail to Baker? Just looking for a different eperience this trip. Thanks

Thanks They have closed off some trails but the Sperry wash trail goes for a while and is kinda fun. Cant go to Tecopa anymore or the China ranch. If you go to the TTR railroad tressel drive due east close to the north side of the flats, just at the top of the hill coming into the flats you can go quite a few miles south towards Baker. Also if you want to contact me I can tell you about several old mines and cabins that are fun to visit. A GPS and maps are very helpfull!! If you go due east of the North Pole you can get on the tressel too! These are quad, jeep or Rhino type vehicles not rails for sure!!! Just so you know although it is technically illegal to drive an OHV down the paved road to China ranch, the owner has no problem with it so the local leo's seem to overlook it. He sits on the Sub-group and is pretty much a greenie but he sure supports off roaders when he is making money off of them. Other wise I wouldn't say he is on our side.
